The day begins like any other, a day which is just like any other
day. The kingdom has effectively recovered from the incident a few
months back and had more or less returned to its natural order.
People were getting back into their daily lives, and everyone felt
at peace once again.
Audax got up and stretched. Today was the day he planned on trying
out for the school of magic again. Ah, he probably didn't have the
mana... but he'd gotten a little more hopeful. Why? Even Audax
wasn't sure... even if he got in, how would he make friends? How
would he know what to do? He pushed the thought aside, grabbed his
book and his bag, and headed towards the school.
The school was impressive. Imagine looking at a medieval fort, with
flags and white brick. The school was always taking
applications...because of the lack of students getting into the
school itself. It's encouraged that knights try the test as well,
however, most end up not entering...
An important fact is that the school has three divisions of magic.
The Anima School, The Light School, and the Dark School. Anima
magic, is magic over nature and the elements, purely natural magic
for the offense. The Dark School, is elder magic, for those who
pursue knowledge and have the willingness to delve into the
darkness. And the Light School, which is light and healing magic.
Each school have many branches within as well, and it is uncommon
for students to delve into branches of different schools.
Audax admired the buildings architecture; it did look pretty
cool... maybe he could sketch it out later? He was trying to
improve his building drawing skills, but could only do pokemon...
ah well, that could come later. He nervously looked around,
scanning the area for a place where he could try to register.
Talking with others was inevitable, Audax guessed... (Still, he'd
rather not; he was so awkward! How did others do it so
confidently?) He shyly padded up to the entrance hall. "E-excuse
me?" He asked. "I'm looking to register..."
"Hmm? Oh yeah... that was me... Maybe... Not sure.... sorry!" Audax
wanted to just melt into the ground and hide at this point... but
he was already this far. "I did come here once before," He
elaborated.
"Hm...I can already sense a rise from before..." The Accelgor said
after a moment.
"..." There was a light pause as the Accelgor looked at something
on his end.
"I think...this is the first person we may accept in some time..."
Hmm... so the box was to sense his mana! This was a different
system than they'd used the first time... probably an upgrade too.
Audax's heart lifted. "I-I'm accepted?" He croaked, surprised.
Audax sighed in relief, both that he was accepted, and that he was
done with the interaction. "Thank you!" He told the accelgor, and
he began to pad back out of the school. That was quicker than
expected!
Audax still had the afternoon to kill... what should he do? His
belly decided for him with a loud growl. Well, guess he was getting
something to eat! Audax made his way down the anthian district to
Summer's Cafe.
Summer’s cafe wasn’t too busy. It was the afternoon, yes but it was
still before the time that people finished working. Summer was
cleaning some cups and dishes at her workspace.
A table nearby the window sat two pokemon, Emerald and Hiro. It
seemed like they were talking
Audax sat in a corner off to the side, and quietly ordered a sitrus
berry shake. He was far from everyone else, but his acute ears
still let him hear distant conversations, intentionally or not.
Emerald was laughing lightly. “I wonder when Fortem’s gonna
come...? I did invite him to check out your shop before it opened
ah well...maybe we can meet up another day...”
That’s what Audax would’ve heard. His Sitrus berry shake arrived
soon enough soon after
The conversation didn't really seem to concern Audax, who gave a
small 'thank you' to the waiter and began enjoying his tropical
tasting drink. This cafe really did make the best berry shakes...
Satisfied, Audax payed for his drink, and started heading back to
his home in the suburbs. Thankfully, his shift at the store he
worked at to earn money wasn't today, and he could continue reading
and journaling and resting.
Audax went inside, stretched, and lay down on his couch. He began
to journal some notes, like "The Sitrus Shake is really good, get
it again next time,' and 'Investigate that bubble emporium you saw
earlier, it looked cool," and even "Remember to go back to the
school tommorow!" (he could be quite forgetful). Audax then began
to read his new book (another one about the mysteries of mana and
magic, and the branches of the school). Soon enough, he'd drifted
off to sleep while reading.
