Fortem sneezed from the temple dust, and wiped it away as he
thought (wow, the temple was so dusty, even a rock type pokemon was
getting alergies). Hmm... maybe the other three rooms contained
items that might fit the gaps? He padded out, and investigated the
interiors of the musty smelling other three rooms, hoping he might
find what he wanted.
“Ok Emerald, will do.” Drew said. Drew grabbed about the most texts
that he could hold and started to go in the direction of where camp
was. But instead, Drew headed over to Mewtwo. “Geez, man. You took
a beating from that whip of Darkrais.” Drew said. He sighed. “You
doing ok?” With a straight face.
Fortem carefully leaped from platform to platform, almost falling
on the last one, but using stone edge just in time to make himself
a platform (wow, stone edge had been so useful, even when he wasn't
attacking with it). When he reached the top, there seemed to be a
chest with an item in it, and Fortem stepped closer for a better
look.
Fortem nudged it with his paw, pretty sure it was the block to put
in the door, but checked, just in case. He picked it up carefully
in his maw, and safely traversed down the parkour, finally placing
the block in the door. He sincerely hoped that the door was to keep
him out instead of keeping something dangerous in... The block slid
right into the hole, and made. *click*. Fortem then walked into the
third room.
This straight hallway seemed fine to Fortem, so normal that it was
suspicious. It couldn't be that easy, right? Tentitavely, he took a
pawstep forward, then another, his ears, nose and eyes on high
alert. He wondered where Emerald and the others were... hopefully
not in too much danger... It was scary to be on his own. He
understood why the geodudes from before fought together, it was
mush safer and made you feel more courageous.
Fortem leaped backwards , scared, and managed to almost get out of
the way, thanks to his alertness, but the arrow got stuck in his
fluffy back fur. Thank goodness it was so thick, it would leave a
bruise at most. Think, Fortem.... He tried to find a way to
get past the hallway. Surely there were more arrows. Fortem sent a
sand attack, then a rock throw down the hallway, hoping that
whatever sensors were shooting arrows would detect the sand and
rocks and run out of arrows.
Another arrow flew right past Fortems face. Luckily, he was far
enough behind that it didn't hit. Well... this would be harder than
expected. What were his options? There seemed to be a lot of
arrows.... so many that it would take ages for them to run out. He
could try again and memorise the spots to avoid, perhaps? He could
go over and under arrow spots, and leap over the spike pits. It
wasn't a good plan, but it was a plan none the less. He gave it
another go, sending sand and rocks. This time, he focused his eyes
on the hallway, carefully remembering each arrow and pit location.
Fortem had almost reached the end... when a final arrow dispenser
he'd forgotten about got him right above the eye! He howled in pain
and surprise, pulling it out by the shaft with his claws. Well,
shoot (no pun intended!). The vision in his right eye was blurry,
making it slightly harder to see, but he;d get it checked later.
Right now, his job was to help Emerald. He grabbed the spherical
stone precariously in his mouth (it was difficult to grip). He
turned to face the hallway. Welp, now he had to go back to the main
hallway, while holding a rock in his mouth. Fortem decided that,
despite his dislike of hurting others, he wouldn't mind giving the
maker of these temples a rock throw to the face. He began making
his way back.
Fortem saw the footsteps... and his tail drooped in dissapointment.
The others had left without him? Maybe he was sort of worthless...
he shook off the thought. Maybe they were busy? The real question
was, should he try to complete the temple alone, or go back for the
night? He felt himself shift into dusk form. It was already late...
but midnight form would give him more energy at night... but he
didn't know what would be in the next room... but Emerald needed
him and they could get back Yung faster... but he didn't even know
if that was true. He paced the hallway with the spherical stone
still in his mouth. Decisions, decisions...
Fortem dropped the stone in surprise (thankfully, it didn't break).
Azure's voice? Calling him back to camp? Relieved that someone had
made the decision for him, Fortem exited the scary temple, but not
before placing the stone into the door. Fortem looked down at the
mountain path. It would be dangerous to go down... especially at
night... suddenly, Fortem's eyes adjusted, and he felt himself
shift into Midnight form! Thankful for the bipedal form for once,
he made his way down the path, arriving at camp exhausted. The rest
of the temple could wait till another day. As he entered the camp,
Fortem saw Azure lounging around in the middle of camp, with a
slightly worried expression. "I'm back," He wheezed, tired. "It's
Fortem by the way, I'm just in midnight form. Sorry to keep you
waiting, sir!"
[Fortem]
It was more dusk then night, but regardless...
He was immediately tackled by a small blue pup. “Fortem! You’re
safe...! I was so worried...!” Emerald was hugging him and was full
of joy
Fortem was awkwardly tackled to the ground. "Urf, Hi emerald!" He
felt his tail begin to wag. "Umm... mind getting off? It's hard to
breathe." He was glad that the Riolu was safe. "What happened in
your tunnel? And where's Mewtwo and Drew?" Fortem's anxious nature
caught up to him, as he stressed about his friends.
