I don't know what happened, but I can't finish the Giratina quest.

When I got defeated by Giratina, I at some point noticed that the quest in the ancient cave said 0% done. I know the Giratina quest has some randomness to it, so I didn't think anything of it. However, I now have the dark orb, and it won't let me use it, telling me I need a griseous orb again. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Spoiler tagged because I got pretty far in

If you have a Dark Orb, you actually finished the Giratina Quest already. You should be able to summon a Giratina Egg if you go to the Ancient Cave and scroll down.

I tried that but it only says that I need a griseous orb, no option for getting the egg. I don't know what happened.

@GeneralCupcake : Uhm.. THIS is what CatLady is trying to tell you :

At the Ancient Cave, scroll ALL THE WAY DOWN and you'll see that option to summon your own Giratina (egg) using that "Dark Orb" that you've got.. :O

I won the "Event Spriting Contest" as it says on News Announcement #224.
