Averis was shocked. Midna looked away.

Crystal sat on the ground, defeated before a fight even started.

Smoky and Thunder tried to comfort Crystal. You could tell that despite their rivalries they still cared about each other.

Smoky and Thunder listened. Crystal was still shaking but she looked up. Suddenly, Lugia swooped down and used Areoblast on Crystal. The Lugia was the color of ice and its Areoblast was laced with icicles. Smoky used Fire Blast to counter.

Smoky looked at Crystal. "That Areoblast must be what caused this! Come on, you have to help!" He used Sacred Fire while Thunder used Thunder Fang. Crystal used Ice Beam and Midna used Stone Edge. Averis used Rock Slide. The Lugia used Psychic.

The Lugia roared. Fire Blast and Stone Edge had missed it. It used Psychic on Averis. They all repeated their attacks once more. Crystal stood in front of Kiwi.

Kiwi used a weak swift, hitting the Lugia, hoping to distract it at least.

The Lugia used Areoblast and hit. It wasn't enough to completely freeze Smoky but it was close. Smoky roared but he couldn't move due to his paws being frozen. He used Sacred Fire to try and melt it but it didn't work. "It's cursed" he roared and used Fire Blast on the Lugia. Everyone else repeated their attacks and the Lugia was driven off.

"For now..." Crystal muttered. Midna was looking at Smoky's now-frozen paws and was trying to figure out how to unfreeze them. Thunder was helping Midna. Averis was trying to calm himself down. Smoky was starting to panic.

All the attacks combined worked! Smoky was able to break free from the ice. "Let's see if it will work for Ho-Oh" Crystal said excitedly. Midna looked at Kiwi. Her caring side showed for the first time. "It's all right. You were able to help a little when you used Swift"
