Soon, her chest fluff flattened out into a fish maine. Her short, fluffy tail lengthened and split into a dolphin tail. Her ears turned into fine and her head tufts grew into a majestic dorsal fin. Her back was ridged with tiny spikes. Kiwi no longer felt the cold as much. She felt leaner, stronger, braver. She was no longer a useless child! She bounded gracefully across the river without much thought and returned to the cave.
