She'd inherited many things from her mother, her noble status and minor Crest first and foremost, but not her lazyness. She was probably the most battle-savvy and adventurous young noble in the Alliance. Her physical strength was already second only to her mother's, Emperor Edelgard's and a handful of men's all over Fòdlan, but hers was raw, unregulated power, with almost no control, unfit for a defender of Fòdlan's Locket.
"Oh, are you already good to go? I wonder who did you take after" her mother's voice took Clarisse by surprise, and she spun around, running to hug her. "I'll miss you, young lady…" Hilda said, smiling. It wasn't usual, for her, to be so calm, but Clarisse understood how important this moment was.
"I'll miss you too, mother." she answered, heading back to her horse. She then mounted, and departed, stopping only to eat and sleep.
But Lethia wasn't terrified. Nope, she was elated! Excited! Utterly exuberant with the fact she would be at Officer's Academy soon! There was going to be so many people to meet! And she would have the opportunity to learn so much! Like finally getting a hang her swordmanship! Or finally learning white magic! Lethia just couldn't wait!
Some knights, led by a tan-skinned woman in white armor, had the door open and moved inside the Monastery; nobody tried to enter. "They must be heading to report to the Archbishop, or to some liason…" mused Clarisse, finding a place to sit and refresh after the climb.
"Yeah, yeah. That's wasn't a very smart move." Iola chuckled, trekking the rest of the way up on jelly legs. When he finally made it up, Iola stared in awe at the scenery spread out before him. It was marvelous and he beamed at the thought of seeing it everyday from now on. There seemed to be students milling about the closed gates but some hung back and Iola decided to join the latter group. Leading his mount off to the side so that they wouldn't be blocking anyone, Iola leaned heavily against the steed to catch his breath
Clarisse was also curious about the other one, but, noticing how tired he looked, decided to wait before speaking to him.
"Hi there!" He chirped, bouncing over to Clarisse. "Are you also a new student here?"
She then patted him on the back, using maybe a bit too much strength.
"I'm Iola Duran-Fraldarius. I'm starting my first year here so I'm not really sure what to expect." He introduced himself, laughing sheepishly. "Anyways, what book were you reading?" His attention jumped from Clarisse to Leaf quickly
You're going to be part of the Blue Lions, right?" Clarisse didn't even register Iola stumbling forward, then looked, still grinning ear to ear, at Leaf, and bowed somewhat elegantly to the two young men.
Letting his hair drop back down, Iola hummed in thought. "Anyways, I've heard about that book. I've never read it myself but I have a copy in my satchel. My ma would always rave about it and gave it to me as a going away gift. Do you want to talk about it later?"
