so, i decided i was gonna soft reset in pokemon gold for a totodile bc its my husband's fave starter... and i've never done this before, right? so, have any of yall done a soft reset for a starter? or even a legendary, really! how long did it take you to get a shiny or did you give up??

Ive done nearly every pokemon game I can remember (except for the obvious red blue and yellow) I even soft reset for legendaries I love. Like shiny rayquaza <3

i’m determined that every soft reset thing i can do (except maybe legendários. i don’t have the patience for that) i will do it. i hear that the odd egg you get has a higher chance of being shiny but i’m not sure it that’s correct or not.. crossing my fingers!!

Yeah I usually soft reset for starters because I like to collect female Pokemon. I soft resetted for Shiny Kyurem once, but after 200 tries I didn't want anymore xD

When silver and gold came out for the virtual console I soft reset for a shiny cyndaquil. I happened to get extremely lucky and it only took about 7 soft resets ;u; however it's been taking me forever to get a shiny lugia, with over 2k soft resets

I've done a soft reset for a female Piplup in Pokemon Pearl and I've done a soft reset for a shiny Poplio in Pokemon Sun, but I never got a shiny, but I did get a female Poplio, so that's cool I guess.

i decided to take a break my shiny totodile hunt and attempt to hunt mudkip in OR, gave up at around 50 sr, and then as i was searching for a ralts to one up wally, i encountered a hoard of seedot, and one was shiny! i may not have luck with starters but seedot is not my fave pokemon Xd

Only in Lets Go Eevee! for the gender so that I could get the female eevee. I did get a shiny Chikorita in Silver on my 3Ds, though.

I'm planning on soft resetting for blacephalon in ultra sun, it's not gonna be fun. Rewarding for sure though!

I’m doing Charmander in FireRed (I’m using an actual gameboy, not an emulator XD) and Treeko in Emerald (same gameboy, I switch in between each one) and I’m hunting Dialga in Diamond, breeding Riolu in X, The event Rockruff in Ultra Moon, Ralts on the radar in Alpha Sapphire, and Cyndiquil (idk how to spell) on Silver (all of these games on the same 3DS XL ;-;)

For a shiny Oshawott in pokemon w2. I don't think I'll do it again, not my thing I guess. Yet it is wroth it. Great comeback for my Lotko (Oshawott, starter) from pkmn black.

Ive done a lot of soft reset, guzzlord on UM, kyogre on UM (litteraly 3 attempt), archen on OR (fourt fossil stack), amaura on UM (third fossil stack) and i am currently hunting for mudkip on emerald

I once did it to get the legends in Ruby. (I killed them all accidently)

I also knew a guy who got a shiny Mudkip as a starter but he reset thinking the colour was a bug
