The quiet sunk in as night fell, long grass swaying around the abandoned workshop that hid what lay beneath it. There was a quiet laugh from a young demon as he slunk out from the cellar door, turning around to help a second, this time female, demon out. “The humans do sleep, right?” The female crystalmorph asked nervously, giving her brother a worried look. “Enough of them do. Enough to make it so we can steal some food.” The male murmured. “People are starving, Drani.” He gently touched her shoulder, earning a wince. She sighed and nodded. “We have to take risks for the rest.”

Maeve, on the other hand, didn't sleep. Her body requires much less sleep than even the strongest demon. She had left her friend asleep in the woods and left for a "walk." She flies high in the air, her eyes straining in the night. Her night vision was weak, only limited to what a regular demon could handle, she almost missed the two forms sitting outside the village. She smiles to herself, "what do we have here?" She asks herself as she slowly makes her way down to them

Almost immediately both shadow demons froze in place, the female’s dark crystals suddenly ripping through the flesh of her back to reveal themselves. Their weight left her slightly hunched, but she was in a defensive position.

"Interesting" Maeve purrs, her eyes gleaming into a predatory glare, her grin wide. She can't help that her basic instincts thrive under fear. She lands a ways away from them, trying to avoid the girl's crystals. Her face softens when she surveys them, she is no fool, she knows the look when a demon is trying to hide. "What are you two doing in MY territory?" She snaps, putting her hands on her hips, she looks excited to be able to say that line. The words would have been much more threatening if she were taller and not as obviously excited

The male hissed with annoyance. “Keep your voice down, imbecile. We need to get food for our people.”
The girl nodded, crystals retracting slowly. Her curly black hair framed her soft face, big blue eyes wide and nervous.

"Ha!" Maeve says, her way of fake laughing. "You make this sound like it's dangerous" her eyes gleam. "These humans are dumb, they attack whatever they see and don't think to look back" she gives them a prideful look, her caculating gaze leveling with them. "Watch this" she whispers. She leaps into the air, landing over the village. She raises her arms, a gust of wind forming from underneath the village. The power makes some of the closer windows rattle, it certainly must've woke some humans up. Some run outside to investigate, they see Maeve for a second before she takes off. The two hear a loud "There she is!" Before more people run outside, torches in their hands. Almost as if they were waiting for her. With all the distractions, it would be very easy to sneak in and out of houses

The girl yelled and took a step back. The young man gritted his teeth, turning tail to flee.

"Hmph" Maeve grumbles, she had lead a large group of people towards the opposite side of the village, far from the duo. She had no idea that they were escaping. She turns toward the crowd of humans, trying to buy the duo more time. "Oh no you caught me!" She yells, grounding herself. She surveys the crowd, the most gruesome weapons they hsd were torches, although one woman carried a pitchfork "Oh please" Maeve mutters to herself

The male crystalmorph hadn’t realized she was mocking the humans, but rage flowed into his muscles and he began to run through town to her aid.

"Oh no" she whispers as she watches the boy barrell towards them. Although they are armed with torches, the flames still hurt. She extends a hand, lighting out some torches. And knocking a small group of humans to the ground

He slammed into one of the larger civilians, a man, and threw him to the ground, blue eyes blazing.

"Whoa whoa" Maeve calls. Although she ruthlessly scares this village, she has never once caused them any harm. She flies over to him. "I'm okay, I wasn't really in danger" she uses another gust of wind to knock down the closest people to him, the effect making her tired. "But, you, my friend are. C'mon we gotta go"

She leads him through a shortcut. They'll be long gone by the time to crowd figures out they went this way "Listen, I'm glad you took to the time to help me, but you should've used my distraction to grab yourself some food. Now they'll be on guard" Maeve explains. "Trust me, I can handle these humans, they wouldn't dare attack me" she adds, giving him a develish smile

Raven was relaxing on the border of town next to a boulder. She heard the commotion, but hadn't bothered to investigate upon having seen Maeve flying from the distance. She curled up on the rock, trying to sleep through the noise.

As the gigantic crowd yelled and tossed through every nook and cranny looking for the demons causing commotion, a few of them began to notice something peculiar. At this,m they raised their torches and pitchforks, as it surely wasn't normal. A man in a magicians suit was hanging off of a roof, arms crossed and feet nonchalantly standing upside-down on the wooden house. it seemed as though someone was standing on a roof without the laws of gravity playing any sort of role in it.
