Lida nodded and headed back to the ship. Once inside she quickly reverted to her human shape, being careful to grab the saddlebag so it didn't fall. She moved to another room with the apples, though left a few on the table. She crossed back into view to another chamber where she left the saddlebag and the books, but brought the notebooks back out.

Eve watched her, curiously. "What is in the notebooks besides the pictures? Any information?" She asked, hoping to get a closer glimpse of the aliens. "Who do you think wrote it?"

Lida walked over and plopped down into her beanbag as she looked through the notebook. "Well, thankfully it's in English, but sadly their handwriting is pretty awful... Unless those are just meant to be designs?" She turned the notebook sideways and then upside-down. "Nope, they have bad handwriting and wrote it the wrong way..." This fact made her giggle for a couple moments before she got a little more serious about it. "There are some details about their insides... How their dog things look and act..." She paused for a moment. "I, oh my god... I could probably pull it off..." She was flipping through the pages muttering to herself, having gotten a little lost in the book.

"Pull it off? Like an alien's head? What are you pulling off?" Eve asked curiously, coming over to settle next to Lida, getting a look at the pictures as she flipped through. "Wait, you said something about reading about animals and getting their shape. Is this the same?"

Lida darn near jumped as her guest spoke considering she had forgotten she was there. "I mean, given the right shape and combination, I probably could pull one of their heads off. As for the reading, yes, I might be able to get the shape of their sniffer dog things... Though the full blown alien, I don't know if I can do that... I've never tried something this complicated... The dog thing is complicated enough, but the other one? Ooph..." She had turned the book around to show Eve some pretty good drawings of their insides and outsides along with some scribblings.

Eve reached out, tracing the animal softly. "...I wonder if my powers would work on them...they seem so poorly treated...I want to help them but they are too busy trying to attack me or eat my pack for me to help in anyway. I've tangled quite a few in vines though."

Lida looked back and forth between the paper and Eve's expression. "The aliens don't appear to care about much of anything honestly... Other than killing us. That they care greatly about. They'll even try to attack us even if they're mortally wounded, or even if they're missing limbs..." She sighed. "I don't know if they feel much of anything except hatred..."

"I've found that as well.. it is troubling. I've tried catching some to try to figure out why. But I can't get anything. Humans are a lot harder to read then animals but I can still get a feel for emotions at least. The aliens give away nothing..." Eve said, obviously troubled by this.

"Well, with this, I might be able to change into one of their sniffer dog things, but it'll take me a long while to figure out how to function... Seeing, if they even can, understanding their hearing and sense of smell is gonna be rough..." Lida chuckled. "Though I don't know if that's a safe idea to go out changed like that... I could get myself killed by humans if they found me."

"When you do have it figured out, I would be happy to go with you and help provide cover. My pack as well," Eve offered. "It'll also give me a chance to see if I can communicate with their sniffers. Though, I imagine it will still hold the fogginess of your human instincts as well. When you are shifted, I get more from you then I would a human but not as much as i would a non shapeshifting animal of the species."

"You'd do that?" Lida's eyes widened and her head cocked to one side. "That would be awesome! I just don't want to freak out your pack... I should be able to get the basic shift down by tonight, but as I said, the senses are probably gonna take a while..."

"Sure. You are different from other humans. You have a good heart and intentions. Besides, we both get something out of it. Hopefully an ally in each other as well," Eve pointed out, only a hint of uncertainty in her voice. She put on a front of strength but it was just that sometimes. A front.

"A fair trade then." Lida nodded and stood. "I've met enough humans who don't have a good heart or intentions, and I vowed to myself to never become one of them. A good and strong ally is pretty much invaluable nowadays." She chuckled slightly with a big grin. "Other than the apples, some nuts, and some dried meat, I can't offer much in the way of a celebratory feast, but what I do have is yours and your pack's."

"That is a wonderful meal though," Eve told her with a smile. "I've got a green thumb so I've got plenty of crops set up. In a pinch, I can grow things pretty fast but I enjoy getting to tend to what I have planted. I wouldn't mind sharing. We can swap good hunting spots as well. I just wish I has brought something for our feast."

"If it's enough for at least a meal, then a feast can come another time when we can both happily contribute." Lida smiled warmly as she scooted to a nearby room where she made some slight rustling sounds as she grabbed things. "Question, can you just make whatever you want grow, or do you have to have something there to start with?"

"Sounds good to me," Eve replied. "I can't make an apple tree grow watermelon or oranges. But If I've got seeds or there is something nearby, I can grow mostly whatever I'd like. I tend not to grow something in a spot it shouldn't grow. It would be cruel to grow a pine tree in a jungle or a palm tree in a snowy climate."

"I'm just asking since I tend to collect seeds from things so that I can try to plant them and grow them, but I'm not very good at growing things, so I mostly just end up with a bunch of things I don't want to start growing since I know I'll end up killing them..." Lida chuckled as she came out with a good sized sack of nuts, the saddlebag of apples, and some of the dried meat in a plastic shopping bag that almost had holes in it from use.

"If you'd like, I can teach you how to care for plants. Like what to watch for in terms of watering or sun. They are mostly self sufficient but a few definitely need more attention then others," Eve told her, smiling warmly. "It could be just the simple act of over or under watering. At any rate, you're in good hands now. This looks great!"

Lida set the food down on the table and scooted her beanbag closer so she could sit. "You'd be willing to teach me? That'd be awesome! You're also welcome to any of the seeds and stuff that I have so you can take it back with you to your place." She said with a grin as she grabbed one of the bits of meat and began chewing on the tough material.

She settled back in her chair, comfortably. The panther who had been protective of her earlier snuggled up next to her, taking a strip from Eve's hand.
