Max overheard Deirdre and sighed before glancing at Jenny. "That's
why. Long story short, I was fighting a bully that was being mean
to her and he started mocking me. I retorted like an idiot and
spoke sarcastically saying that I hated her, that she was way too
short tempered for we own good, and that I'd never should have been
friends with her but she overheard. I should've kept my mouth
shut." He sighed and looked away. Suko looked at Max as Austin,
Jenny, and Max walked over. "L-listen I'm going to just head for
the gym. I think Miyah might be there. If you get Suko back I'll be
around." He said sheepishly, he didn't really share his father's
courage. He walked off and accidentally bumped into Miyah not
knowing it was her at the time.
Scar watched as Max walked off. She frowned and sighed, "then why
did that bully leave you alone after those events?" She whispered
thoughtfully before dropping the subject all together.
“What the he-“ Miyah began to snap before realizing it was Max.
“-ey bro how are you and no I wasn’t about to say that curse word
dad doesn’t want us saying.”
"Why should I know?!" Deirdre said in frustration, corssing her
arms and sighing. "Listen. He said a bunch of rude things about me.
And never talked to me after I confronted him about it. I don't
want to be around people like that, mm?" she grumbled.
"Max!" Jenny called loudly, which was unusual for the usually quiet
girl. "Get Suko first. From Deirdre. Talk to her."
"Why did they both leave?" Simon asked and frowned.
“I live here!” Ness beamed. “.. And also because our dads kicked us
out of the house ‘cause we were getting lazy. But nobody needs to
know that.” She paused briefly and then shrugged. “Oh well. So
you’re on a journey? That’s fun. And also trying to keep each other
from dying? That’s also pretty fun.”
Max sighed and looked at Miyah. "I'm fine." He lied simply and
shrugged. "And don't worry I wasn't going to call and tell Dad." He
said kindly and brushed himself off.
Scar groaned and glared at Deirdre, she rarely did this unless she
had enough with arguing with her sister. "Scar. He tried to say
sorry, you snapped a him. You wouldn't want to talk to someone who
always snaps at you, do you?" She sighed. *Can we please stop
arguing about this?"
Austin nodded, "got it. Are you going after Max?" He asked Jenny
quietly.
"Which time?" JJ asked Simon. "They have both left a lot."
"It can be fun. Something tells me a lot of the latter will be
happening." Micah chuckled as he scratched the back of his head.
"What's it like living here in Kalos? We live in Sinnoh and before
that Orre."
Flower slid to a stop when the girl was bumped into by a boy and
sighed. "Bulba." She pouted before turning around and going
back to Micah and the others.
“Aw man, Kalos is sooo pretty! Especially when there are other kids
my age around. Because I’m starting to think this place is just
full of snobby adults or something. And lots of grandmas.” Ness
mused. “Sinnoh? And Orre? I’ve never been to either! What’s it
like? I heard Sinnoh is reeeeally cold.”
Max blinked and glanced at Deirdre before freezing and glancing at
Miyah signifying what the problem was. He had told his sister about
the misunderstanding a day after it happened. "Uh. Thanks? Also why
are you apologizing to me? I should've kept my mouth shut." He
replied to Deirdre before accepting Suko back. He glanced at
Flower. "No I didn't catch a Bulbasaur. It must belong to someone
else." He replied to Miyah quietly.
Scar sighed and glanced over to Jenny and Austin. "Uh? Sorry about
her." She said in embarrassment.
"We live in Canalave, Sinnoh! But Mom used to live in Snowpoint and
I hear that's cold. Before dad moved in with her and then they got
a house. Canalave is warm but cold sometimes, and Sunyshore can be
hot. But usually they're both really cold." Simon rambled and
grinned.
---
"Because Scar pointed out I keep snapping at you. And I held a
grudge and was a jerk in general. Okay?" Deirdre flinched as she
gently set Suko down.
"It's fine." Jenny blinked. "We have a cousin like that."
JJ opened her mouth a few times before talking. "M-Mum was..she
was..she wasn't feeling well so she had to go to a uhm a uh special
hospital. That is what happened."
"It can be but we live in an area that isn't really cold unless
it's winter. I don't remember much about Orre but papa says there
was a lot of sand while daddy says it is uh I can't repeat what he
says now that I think about it." Micah replied.
Flower paused before turning back to the girl and bouncing over
happily. "Bulba! Bul Bulbasaur!" She said happily while
smiling widely. She was asking to play as the other pokemon never
wanted to or were too mischevious to play nicely.
Suko went over to Flower and sniffed at her curiously. She seemed
familiar somehow. "Lava Quilava" He said kindly.
Max sighed and glanced at Deirdre. "It's alright, Deirdre. I was
the one who upset you, I shouldn't have ever said those words." He
said cautiously. "After all, it's just like the time Lion held a
grudge for six years on our dad right?" He sighed and looked at
Flower for a moment. "Strange, it's like Suko recognizes the
Bulbasaur." He said partially to himself.
Scar nodded in response to Jenny and offered her a small smile. "Uh
I'm Scar." She introduced herself kindly.
Miyah gruntwd. “I never saw you as the apologetic type,” She told
Deirdre, scoffing slightly. She looked at Flower and smiled. “Go
ahead and play, Kita.”
The Growlithe approached the Bulbasaur with a cheerful bark.
"Oh, I get it! She just was sick and they helped her!" Simon said
innocently and nodded. "Dad says Orre has a lot of sand and nothing
and a whole lot of sh-" he's cut off by Zeke, thankfully.
"Mm." Deirdre nods. "Kay, bye." she added as she turned around and
went back to her sister, pausing as she heard Miyah. "I didn't
either. Scar made me. And out of the pure goodness in my heart.
See, Max? I won first apology of the day." she smirked before
continuing walking.
"Correct." JJ replied while resting against Joey's hand. He had
placed it on her lower back in silent support.
Flower tilted her head at Suko before using a vine to wave hello to
him. "Bul Bulbasaur." She said kindly before she turned to
Kita and made a happy sound back and used a vine to gently tap
Kita's nose.
Max sighed and relaxed slightly as Deirdre walked away. "Is
everything a competition for her? Oh well guess it's better than
how she's been treating me." He mumbled quietly and glanced at
Miyah. "Are you okay? You seemed like you were going to punch me
when I ran into you. Honestly anyone would think you inherited
mom's temper." He said joking at the last part.
Scar nodded and looked up as Deirdre walked over. "Yeah I'm lion
and Faye's daughter. The youngest twin by five minutes." She said
kindly.
Miyah rolled her eyes. “She’s not over it and she never will be.
Unlike her dad,” She hissed under her breath to Max, trying to make
sure only he heard. She cleared her throat. “I cannot
believe the locals here, dude. You lose ONE battle and they
never let you forget it. I’m sick of it.”
Kita giggled and stood on his hind legs playfully, turning and
running his tail over Flower’s head.
"Yup. I'm older. I won the age part." Deirdre said. "Just kidding.
Sorry." she added, knowing her twin didn't like how she made
everything a competition.
Simon nodded and grinned. "So! Anyway." he hummed. "Are we gonna go
to Lumiose?!"
Jenny nodded. "I'm Snow and Kimberly's daughter. Austin is my
brother."
“Sounds.. like a nice place?” Ness offered, though her eyes were
bright with unbridled fascination. “Oh, you’re going to Lumiose?
Can I tag along for a bit? I was gonna head there anyway, but we
got.. A little sidetracked.” She laughed (somewhat nervously,
because Casey was shooting the look at her).
