The Dark Knight hit Tyler with his sword and freed Xan:

"Wrong choice."

When Tyler woke up, he was on a golden cloud with an old angel and an apple tree. The old angel was Zan, who reverted to his first form i.e. before he killed Cira and gained youth.

He transformed into a White Knight and they started dueling.
