"Wait, no, Yas--" Kair protested, but stayed where she was.
If they attack, I'll have to go back down into the cave to get
help. She reasoned with herself, listening intently.
Yas slithered out of hiding Cyndaquil squeaked in shock. "Since
when are there Dratinin in the forest?" He asked quickly, and
was bristling.
The stranger burst out into laughter, and brushed leaves from his
shirt. He was the human the poliwag were talking about. He looked
about nine years old, and had a black and green shirt, there was a
bandanna tied to his right shoulder, his jeans were faded and
tattered. "Cyndaquil calm down, this guy isn't hurting anyone." He
said childishly, and crouched down to Yas' level. "Hello
there." He said gently, now sounding more like a Dragonite than
what he originally sounded like.
Kair's eyes widened in surprise at the sudden change of voice.
He's not a pokemon. How did he do that? She thought,
slithering a little further out of her cover.
"Tiger are you sure this is a good idea? What if he's a grunt's
Pokemon?" Cyndaquil asked cautiously, and looked uneasy.
Tiger rolled his eyes, "Rocket don't own Dratini. If they do they
sell them to that stupid game corner." He grumbled. "Calm down, no
one is out here to hurt us." He said with a smile.
"Who are you?" Yas asked gently, and tipped his head to the
side.
Tiger blinked, "you're definitely not from the forest, are you?" He
asked kindly.
Yas shook his head, "N-no it's my first time out here." He
said uncertainly, and glanced at the Cyndaquil who was beginning to
calm down.
Tiger glanced at Kair, and blinked. He didn't move as he felt he
might get a dragon type move to the face if he made any sudden
movements. Instead he sat down completely, and placed his bag next
to him. "You two are perfectly safe with me." He said
gently, sounding like the dragonite again. The mimicked tone he did
sounded like the real thing.
"That's debatable." Cyndaquil grumbled lowly.
Tiger shot Cyndaquil a warning glance and sighed. "I'm not going
to hurt you." He said gently.
"We're good, Kair. If he tries anything I can freeze him."
Yas said cheerfully.
"Gee thanks, I say you're safe with me, and you threaten to
freeze me." Tiger joked gently.
"Is that cold, Tiger?" Cyndaquil laughed slyly prompting the
boy to face palm.
"No I use to live up here, but I went home four years ago."
Tiger replied kindly, and looked at Cyndaquil, who climbed into his
lap.
"Then why are you here?" Yas asked curiously and went to be
by Kair.
"Well, I had an argument with my friend, Lion, and I sort of ran
off to calm down here. It's sort of a place to escape for me."
Tiger explained kindly.
Yas nodded and looked at Cyndaquil for a moment. "Does he live
here?" He asked curiously.
"He doesn't look like a Poliwag, that's for sure..." Kair
smiled, waving her tail at Cyndaquil cheerfully. "I thought that
was all that lived up here."
Cyndaquil blinked and glanced at Tiger for a moment before replying
kindly. He left sarcasm out of his tone. "There's tons and tons
of Pokemon that live in this world." He said cheerfully.
"Really? Whoa what Pokemon are around here?" Yas asked
curiously and looked around.
Tiger nodded in response, and looked up. He whistled, and a
Pidgeotto landed on his head. "Pidgeotto you're not a Pidgey
anymore get off my head." Tiger said with a grunt. "This is another
Pokemon, a Pidgeotto." He explained kindly.
Pidgeotto blinked, and jumped off Tiger's head he glanced at Kair,
and Yas. "Oh the Dragonair in the colony have finally come to
visit." He said kindly.
"Whoa that one has wings! Like Dragonite, but not a
Dragonite!" Yas said cheerfully.
Pidgeotto laughed in amusement, "these are feathers my
friend." He said kindly. He stretched his wings out so Kair
could see the feathers a bit better.
Tiger was now digging through his bag. "What are you doing?"
Yas asked curiously.
"Feathers? They look soft!" Kair giggled, jumping up (with a
ton of effort) to graze her head on one. "They're not rigid!
That's weeeird. I like it." She grinned, not yet noticing
Tiger's rummaging.
Pidgeotto laughed in amusement, and glanced at Cyndaquil. "He's
got fur, which is different from scales and feathers." He said
playfully.
"Nope no one is touching me! I'm fine." Cyndaquil said
sheepishly and hid behind Tiger.
Tiger shook his head in amusement and grabbed a box. "I made some
Pokepuffs for the Pokemon I met in the forest today, and
considering it's you, and Kair's first time out here, I thought
you'd like to try one." He offered kindly.
Kair grinned and slithered back to Yas. "Pokepuffs? So they're
food?" She asked cautiously. Her mother's voice was practically
screaming in the back of her head to never accept food from someone
not in the colony, but she ignored it.
Tiger nodded, and grabbed one of them. He handed it to Cyndaquil,
who quickly snatched it away and ate it. "Yep Pokepuffs are treats
that Pokemon love to eat. I made these ones yesterday." He said
kindly, and grabbed two pokepuffs from the box. He handed a vanilla
one to Yas and [whatever Toka/Kair's favorite flavor pokepuff is]
one to Kair.
Yas sniffed at it curiously, and took it in his jaws, and
cautiously ate it.
Kair sniffed it cautiously. One bite wouldn't hurt... And
Cyndaquil is eating one, so it's not poison. She thought,
debating whether or not to try it. After a moment or two, Kair took
a cautious bite of the chocolate pokepuff. "Hey... This is
really good!" She squeaked, smiling brightly before taking
another bite.
