Kona looked rather frightened and shook her head in disgust.
''Could you imagine marrying him? He is basically the age of your
father!'' She looks at Sapphire, ever so happy over the dragon's
presence. ''What about Hunter? Do you think he is like his father?
We do not need trouble here. Not in this new world.''
Stryke was excited to make the dragons a comfortable home. ''You
will all have a comfortable home here!'' He smiled. ''We can get
you comfortable beds not made of pure rock. We can get you fish and
any meat you wish. Would you sleep in a barn?" He asked. ''Not a
small one where we keep you locked up of course.'' He laughed.
''But a comfortable home for you? We could build homes for you
dragons.''
Kona sighed with relief as there was nothing to worry about that
family anymore. ''Wonderful-.'' Before she was able to speak again
Kovu walked up.
Kovu smiled weakly at Rose, he had prepared himself for their
friendship to end as soon as she became Tribe Leader. ''Looks like
you got what you wished. It was quite fun to help you get the
dragons here! I thank you for allowing me to join you and help as I
could.''
Stryke happily smiled. ''Will you? I would love to make a
comfortable home for you and all the dragons! I am sure the baby
dragons would love a comfortable place to sleep as well!''
Rose smiled at Kovu and hugged him. "I couldn't have done it
without you and Kona to back me up. Thank you for believing in me"
she said with a slight blush as she pulled out of the hug.
Fang nodded. *The little ones do get restless and will be happy to
have a place to play out of the mountain.*
Kovu smiled embarrassingly and bowed his head to Rose. ''I shall be
always at your call. Now that you are Tribe Leader, you have us at
your side still.'' He smiled. ''If you do need any help with
anything, or advisory for something involving farming, then you can
surely call me to help!" He laughed nervously before backing up and
turning towards the direction of his home. ''Oh, if you need any
help with the dragons. I would love to help! I saw young dragons
running around and like children, they have to be handfuls.'' He
smiled.
Stryke was excited to build up the village and change it, to get
rid of their old dragon hating ways. ''Do you have any little
dragons yourselves? A wife perhaps? Well, you probably call your
partners something else.''
Fang looked at Stryke. *Some of us have mates, but not all of us.
It's important for us to pass on what we can do* he said.
Rose held her smile. "Perhaps we can make a large ditch that could
be a play pin almost for the younger dragons, and have toys for
them, or animals they can play with."
Stryke agreed, he was worrying the dragons were dying out. ''Yeah,
Rose is my only surviving child. I cherish her more than the world.
Though I shall make the builders aware to make homes bigger for
those with mates and...baby dragons. You probably don't call them
children either. Anyway, I will make sure you have the best of
homes! I would like your home to be near mine, but you don't have
to be. You can be near the water if you would like.'' He walked
towards his home. ''I may move near the water, this home holds
sadness. I am glad I bonded with a dragon, otherwise...I would be
rather depressed right now.' He said quietly.
Kovu turned back to Rose with a bright smile at the idea. ''I would
love to do that! I saw a few baby dragons coming here! It would be
nice to keep them safe and out of trouble! I am sure they don't
want to spit fire by accident...or frost.'' He smiled.
Kona looked between the two and smiled softly. ''You should outline
it before your father Rose starts building. I keep seeing him
gesture to building things.''
Fang tapped Stryke's head. *We call them hatchlings. And I can help
with that* he thought to Stryke. *And if you want to be in a
different house, I wouldnt mind making it easier for the builders
by sharing a house with you.*
Rose nodded and smiled. "Want to help" she asked Kona and Kovu.
"With us working together we can get the places set up for the
builders."
Stryke turned around and smiled towards Fang, he was glad the
dragon was keeping him focused. ''You would like to share a home
with me? I would love that! You could stay warm all winter with a
fireplace and always be out of the snow. I would like that very
much! I am sure Rose will get her own home, quite sad to think she
is really all grown up now. Let's find a place for our new home! I
am going to allow you to have say on where it shall be!"
Kovu agreed eagerly, it gave him more time with Rose. ''Of course!
Less to do for the builders!" He smiled.
Kona nodded, though backed up from them. ''I will be looking on the
other side of the village while you two can figure out the other.
That way we cover more ground and get more done.'' She smiled.
Stryke happily made his way on Fang's back, his old age made him
creak and ache a little bit. He kept his smile at Fang before
looking about with an agreeing nod. ''This new home will not be
filled with pain.''
Kona bowed her head with a smile. ''Thank you. I hope that your
mother didn't hurt anyone else, but I will help them all personally
if that is the case.'' She said quietly before she moved away.
Kovu watched her go before asking abruptly. ''Can she still have a
family as a healer?" He asked.
Kovu nodded slowly, allowing a smile back after it had disappeared.
''Good.'' He said quietly, before grabbing his gardening tool.
''Let's get to marking! Should we allow the dragons to stay in our
homes? I think it would be nice for them and safer. It would allow
them to be close to us all the time, instead of them having to
sleep in the elements for us.'' He smiled.
Stryke smiled quietly with a little nod. ''Yes, for the both of
us!"
Rose nodded. "That would be nice. Having them sleep with us would
probably make them happier, and having a stable or place for those
without a bond to stay until they get one."
Fang smiled as he landed near a few homes. *What about any of
these?*
Kovu happily nodded to Rose's idea. ''That is even more perfect!''
His smile faded quickly when he glances back in the direction the
people had fled. ''Should we begin putting out guards to watch the
village? I am rather afraid someone is going to try to attack a
dragon or one of us now.''
Stryke glances at the homes before pointing towards a nice shaded
home, that had a large tree in the yard that he enjoyed to see. ''I
think we should have our home there. It has a nice shaded area and
we can build the other way. It shall be nice.''
Chaska (will add in later! Human!) watches Rose and Kovu with some
interest. He didn't like that they were drawing closer to each
other when they were in different social classes. He prided on
keeping people of different 'classes' separate. As in, a farmer
shouldn't be able to speak to the new Tribe Leader as if they may
be close friends. ''Do you two need any help?" He called to her.
''I wish to offer my services to the new Tribe Leader.'' He bowed
his head to Rose as he ran up to them.
Kovu kept his smile, happy that she liked the idea. He though went
quiet as Chaska showed up.
Stryke smiled. ''It will be nice to retire here...now do you
dragons also have a second in command? Maybe we should to help my
daughter. Since he is unmarried, the job can be overwhelming.''
Rose looked over at Chaska. "Kovu and I are going to mark places to
make a play area for the little hatchlings, and a barn until
dragons get a bond" she said. "Would you like to help" she
asked.
Fang nodded. *We do have a second in command that would take over
if Sapphire died without an heir* he said. *I think with having you
to help her when she needs it will help. Sapphire herself has no
mate and had lead our tribe well.*
Chaska smiled towards Rose with another bowed head. ''Of course, I
would love to help you. Kovu can scout out the barn and mark it,
while we mark a place for the hatchlings?" He offered trying to
separate them.
Stryke turned away from Fang only to look about the property one
more time. He wished he could enjoy the new home with someone he
thought loved him back and their daughter. However, he was worried
still over Rose not being married. He knew she had help from the
dragons now and himself, but he was still worried. ''She has, as
you dragons are rather kind. '' He turned back to Fang, smiling.
''Thank you. All of you dragons have already done so much. Given
life to my daughter for her freedom. You don't think she resents me
a bit for not completely standing up for her?" He asked
quietly.
Fang shrugged. *She didnt look upset that you didnt stand up for
her, but i think she was more focused on her mother, proving her
right that we dont want to fight* he said.
Rose looked at Chaska. "I was actually going to be talking with
Kovu more, wondering if we should make bigger doors on our houses
as well for our dragons" she replied.
