Ratholas looked at Sapphire then at Fang with almost disgust for
shoving a human at him. He shook his head as his trust had died
long time ago with the humans.
Kovu thought Fang was going to drop him because he didn't bond to
him. He screamed a little bit as this was rather scary to be up
that high and now in the claws of a dragon. ''I beg you, I really
am on your side.'' He said to Fang as he didn't know what Sapphire
had said. He reached out towards Ratholas when they got close to
the other dragon. They bonded as Ratholas was slightly pushed back
by the shock as Kovu was thrust into Fang's chest by the shock.
Fang made sure to not drop Kovu as he laughed. "Looks like Ratholas
got the bond with the human" he said.
Sapphire explained to Rose what was said which made Rose laugh.
Rose then told Kovu, explaining that Ratholas didn't like humans
and hadn't wanted a bond with one, but ended up getting one.
Draig was furious when Ratholas bonded with Kovu. ''You look at
you, now you have a human that you bonded with. Clearly he doesn't
want to harm any of us.'' He lightly growled trying to keep down
his anger.
Ratholas was still shocked from the actual shock and knowing he had
bonded with this human. ''I should not have allowed him to try.''
He turned away and began off back to the caves like he was severely
hurt over this.
Kovu was excited after the shock as he bonded with a dragon and
they knew he was on their side. He smiled towards Rose and laughed
a little. ''I guess we fit each other, because I didn't trust
dragons in the beginning either.'' He looked at Ratholas, though
frowned when he began away.
Sapphire looked at Draig. "I know you didn't bond with the male,
but would you be alright flying him down with me and going to their
village? And Fang, can you talk to Ratholas for me?"
Rose told Kovu what Sapphire relayed to her before she added on: "I
hope my mother doesn't think I'm crazy."
Draig went over to Fang and carefully took Kovu, before setting him
no his back. ''I have no problem with that.'' He spoke quietly,
while Kovu now held tight to this dragon.
Kovu nodded as he was tight against Draig, holding onto his scales
along with his neck. ''Um...I don't think you can win there...I
think she will believe we're insane!" He laughed a little before
nodding. ''She cannot deny the peace between the dragons now and
she will not be able to marry you off like she wants.''
Rose nodded. "That is true. I wonder what the others in the tribe
will think" she said as Sapphire motioned to Draig to follow her as
she flew to the tribe.
Ratholas went to his cave, he was furious over the whole issue with
the human. He didn't want to bond with a human nor did he want to
be around the humans. He felt all of this was a joke and they were
walking into a trap.
Draig followed right after Sapphire and Rose, making sure Kuvo
desn't fall off. He actually didn't care too much whether or not
the human stayed on him as he didn't like the fact they didn't
bond. He felt Ratholas didn't deserve to be connected like Sapphire
was.
Kovu was worried about the weapons that were not sabotaged with and
hoped that no one would attack them. He also was mad at Roda and
feels like Hunter was the one to kill a dragon, almost to spite
them. He really didn't get the hint and figured it was Hunter, not
is father.
Sapphire landed near the village and allowed Rose to climb off to
lead them the rest of the way. Both were nervous, but knew this was
for the best for both.
Fang landed near Ratholas. "You cant be mad over a bond like that"
he said.
Stryke was so worried over the whole situation that he was putting
his worries in dealing with the weapons. He was ever so angry at
his wife for saying what she had, not even knowing how he was going
to deal with her.
Roda was waiting for her two men to return with Rose or news of
where Rose went. She felt the marriage had to happen quick now to
put Stryke and Rose in their place.
Kovu climbed down from Draig, both behind Rose and alongside
Sapphire. Kovu decided e was going to be near Rose in case
something happened and ran up to her.”I am worried what they’re
going to do.” He said quietly. “You are bringing dragons!” He
whispered.
Ratholas looked back at Fang, folding up his wings. “I should not
have had a bond with a human. They took our families, how are we to
trust them?”
Ratholas looked down, he wanted the deaths to stop as well but the
pain was new again.”Do you believe that this connection with the
humans shall stop any wars to come? I am just worried they’re
tricking Sapphire and I. I am really worried.” He said quietly.
Kovu nodded towards Rose as there was nothing else they could
do.”Well I am here for you.” He whispered seeing the village. “And
remember your mother can’t stop the connection you have.” He
smiled.
Fang nodded. "The stories I was told, were that the only way a
connection can happen is if they don't want to hurt you" he
said.
Rose smiled. "Now to see what she thinks" she said as they entered
the village. She saw Hunter drop the reins of a horse that was
going to be used to look for her, startled to see the dragon.
Ratholas looked at Fang, sighing. “But what about the other humans?
I am worried about them going after us. After hearing of Zeek, I am
terrified these two humans will not be able to convince a group of
them to trust us. Even when we trust them... I am just scared for
us.”
Roda turned around when one of the men returned, nudging her.”I
found her.” The mother turned around and saw Rose in front of two
dragons with Kovu beside her. She was shocked and narrowed her
eyes.”Rose.”
Roda began to approach her daughter, shaking her head. ''Dragons
are not to be trusted!" She declared. ''We shall never trust
dragons till the day the world ends! Remember that they killed our
families without even one care! There is no way they would have
changed from killing us to wanting friendship! We even had another
dragon about to attack this morning and a brave man took it down
before it could kill us!'' She was not going to let her daughter
stand up to her.
Kovu looked at Rose before he glared at Roda. ''We will not have
any death if we become friends with them!"
Ratholas nodded a bit. ''I will try then...but I shall be a bit
apprehensive.'' He said quietly. ''I hope this war shall stop.''
Rose shook her head. "Sapphire told me the dragon killed was an
elder, one who died while soaking his sore scales. And if they
really wanted to kill us, wouldn't they have ambushed us by now? I
have a BOND with her mother."
Fang nodded. "Lets just be careful to not anger them. We don't need
them attacking seeing us look mad."
Roda came close to Rose, crossing her arms over her chest. ''You do
not have a bond with a dragon, Rose. You are insane! Though-.'''
She smiled. ''Doesn't matter, you are still marrying the man that
killed the dragon. Dragons will never be on our side and don't need
to ambush us to take us over. They stay here any longer, they shall
be killed.'' She warned.
Ratholas sighed as that was rather hard for him to understand.
Every time he saw a human he naturally wanted to growl or glare, it
will be a large adjustment. ''Thank you, Fang. I will try my
hardest. Though of all dragons, I wished he bonded with you. I am
sure Sapphire is furious with me.''
Sapphire growled as Roda came closer. * I do not like this one* she
thought.
Rose glared at her mother. "I already told you! I'm not marrying
anyone who kills a dragon! I don't care if you think you know
what's best for the tribe! You don't care about anyone but yourself
and you won't tell me what to do anymore!"
Draig narrowed his eyes at the human that threatened to attack
them, watching Sapphire's every move as well as Rose's.
Kovu was just standing there motionless, furious at Roda for saying
what she was to Rose.
Roda then pointed to the forest. ''Then leave. I will not have a
disobedient daughter any longer in this village. You are no longer
allowed back unless you agree to marry the one that killed the
dragon or stay away from the dragons.''
Rose shook her head. "How about you leave considering you aren't
even talking to me half the time! How about you get out of our
lives and leave me and father alone! I refuse to listen to you any
longer when you care NOTHING for me! You have proven that so much
just these past few days! I will not marry a power hungry person
who only wants blood on their hands! I wont let you bully me into
your pathetic world. You either deal with the dragons being our
friends, or you leave me to be tribe leader like I was born to be.
I survived when my siblings couldn't. You either deal with it, or
leave" she said breathing heavily out of anger. She glanced over
after her father, wondering what he would say.
Sapphire was shocked to hear Rose speak to another who was older
than her in such a way, but understood it. She lowered her head and
looked at Rose, letting her know she had backup.
