Roda rolled her eyes. ''Does it really matter whether or not you
trust him? This is what Rose gets for disobeying all that I tell
her! You will not object to the marriage.''
Stryke narrowed his eyes. ''I do not want my daughter hurt!"
Kovu followed after Rose, looking at the bag of fish. ''I can carry
that for you.'' He offered. ''You should be spotting the dragon,
while I carry the bag for you.'' He tried to smile, not wanting to
be a downer.
Roda pointed to the door. ''If you do not feel this way, then you
are not welcome here!''
Stryke glared back at his wife. ''Excuse me? Rose told me that
Cyrus was forcing Hunter to spend time with her so she would choose
him. He doesn't even like her! He just wanted his son to have the
power! Why do you not believe that Cyrus just doesn't want the
power!"
Kovu nodded before he glances around. ''I bet the blue one likes
fish...'' He began to walk ahead of Rose, almost like he wanted to
be in between her and a dragon if one was already on the ground.
Rose looked around and stopped when she felt things getting cold.
"That's weird. Its not usually this cold this time of year" she
said before she froze. "Its here" she said. "That's the same
coldness if felt when I was in the bush."
Sapphire lifted her head hearing the humans, but something felt
strange. Not like she was in danger.
Kovu was rather worried and stopped moving as soon as Rose said her
words. He looked over at her before he began to glance around.
''Then it is likely just beyond the trees.'' He whispered.
Roda kept her eyes narrowed. ''Rose made that up to spite us! She
has no 'feelings' for Hunter so of course she says those
things!''
Stryke yelled back at her. ''Did we marry out of convenience or do
you actually love me!?''
Rose nodded. "We need to be careful more than ever now" she said as
she took a deep breath. She started walking once more before she
spotted the blue dragon.
Sapphire looked at the humans when they came into sighed and stood
up, towering over them.
Kovu looked up at Sapphire, she was truly an amazing creature.
''That is a dragon.'' He said quietly, dropping the fish at the
sight of Sapphire. He was beyond nervous to be so close to a
creature so menacing, yet intriguing.
Roda began out the door now, looking at Stryke with narrowed eyes.
''I married you for a family and I did not receive one.'' She went
looking for two able men that would search for Rose for her.
Sapphire watched the two humans, eyeing them closely and noticed
none had weapons. She lowered her head and sniffed the female first
before she looked over to the male and watched him. She was curious
as to was drew them to her without weapons. *Are they as tired of
the fighting as we are* she thought. She didn't know yet about
Zeek.
Rose was in awe as She was sniffed by the dragon. "Hello" she said
calmly to it.
Kovu moved slowly to Rose's side, wanting to be near her while in
front of this beast. ''We come in peace and offer you fish.'' He
almost whispered out of nervousness before deciding that it was
better for Rose to do all the speaking. He would just make a
mistake and have the dragon eat them.
Sapphire looked at Rose and Kovu, slightly tilting her head. *They
seem to know a bit of what we like to eat* she thought as she
looked at the fish. She saw the female slowly raise her hand to
touch her scales. The blue dragon stiffened up, but didn't make any
motion to attack. She let the female pet her, though both received
a rather nasty shock that sent Rose flying back into a bush while
Sapphire jumped back and looked confused.
Rose shook her head and looked at Kovu. "That was weird. I wonder
what happened. I know I wasn't attacked."
Sapphire wondered the same. *It was rather strange* she thought.
Kovu put his head in his hands for a second, trying to grasp what
had just happened. He fell back with the pressure and energy
between the two. ''No, it didn't attack you by any means...as it
seems just as confused. Maybe we just can't touch dragons.'' He
staggered to his feet and offered his hand to help Rose up.
''Or-.'' He looked at Sapphire. ''You two have some sort of
connection with untapped energy.''
Kovu looked now confused at Rose and towards the dragon with a
shaking head. ''I didn't hear anything.'' He said quietly. ''I hear
nothing.'' He looked a little scared to think Rose could be hearing
things.
Rose's eyes went wide. "I can hear what she is thinking" she said
rather shocked. "This is amazing!" She looked at Kovu with a smile.
"Knowing what she is thinking will help us so much! I wonder if
others can do this with the other dragons" she said.
Sapphire looked at Rose and Kovu. *That would be interesting* she
thought. *Perhaps the male can bond with another dragon this
way.*
Rose looked at Sapphire. "His name is Kovu, and mine is Rose. If
you do have another willing to try, can you bring them here? We
want to be friends. I don't want more fighting, and neither does
Kovu."
Kovu bowed his head, not sure how to interact with the dragon and
understand what was happening between Sapphire and Rose. ''Yes,
exactly! I am completely on Rose's side here. I want peace with the
dragons too.'' He said quietly before looking a bit worried. ''Or
maybe you two can stay friends, I am sure there is no dragon that
would...uh...want to talk to me.'' He was beyond nervous and he
wasn't making any sense in his mind. ''Don't want to push it of
course!"
Kovu looked over at Rose, frowning at the thought of the dead
dragon. ''I don't think we should tell her so soon. She may kill
us!'' He whispered. ''But if you feel trust with her then we may
explain. We didn't know or had a part in it...She may trust us more
that way...''
Sapphire looked at Kovu before looking at Rose. *Tell me what?*
Rose took a deep breath. "Another member in the tribe killed a
dragon this morning. We did what we could trying to stop them, but
my mother told the tribe whoever killed a dragon I would have to
marry. I swear we don't want this" she said.
Sapphire froze. *Could that be why we haven't seen Zeek* she
thought as she looked around.
Ratholas was searching for Zeek after chastising Kanguard for
ignoring the older dragon. Sarkany seemed unaffected by it as she
didn't care much for Zeek. He was too old for her and really would
be no fun compared to the other dragons. Kanguard, however, did
care for the older dragon but in a sense of respect. He was really
a pushover and found it hard to tell Sarkany no, or the other
dragons the same.
''Kalores keep the two in the cave while Draig and I search for
Zeek. He could have simply fallen asleep somewhere or something,
but he has apparently been missing a while.'' Ratholas ordered as
Draig reluctantly followed after him.
Kovu nodded to what Rose said. ''We by all means tried to stop it.
I tried to sabotage weapons in between my chores...and
everything...we didn't even know of the attack and feel terrible.
We want to become friends not only so she didn't have to marry some
crazy man, but to change the lives for each other.'' He looked down
at the ground as he really felt bad for the kill.
