~Sign-Ups!~

The world of Pigraphia is not exactly like Earth.

Fictitious characters that you thought only existed in your favorite video games reside here, coexisting with one another for the sake of one common goal--to defeat the Villains. Everything goes well and if a hero fails, they just get to come back and try again. That's how it's worked for decades.

But we've found a glitch. Heroes are dying. They aren't coming back. And we need regular citizens to figure out why.

In the great city of Nino, the capital of Pigraphia, there resides a small academy dedicated to the training of their new heroes. You woke up here about a year ago and went through extensive training; now, on this graduation day, you receive your equipment and weapon for the rest of the journey ahead. Everyone starts in the auditorium of this academy. The ceremony has just begun.

"Attention, students! Yes, yes, take your seats," The principal called out. Piani was already sitting down, wiping the sweat off of her forehead from the last training session that had been maybe a half an hour ago.

Katos was sitting in the audience with the rest of the newly-grads. It was a rush of adrenaline that swooped through him when he remembered... he would be going to the outside world and fighting as a hero... His best friend was a boy named Vincent... he had also trained at this school to become a hero and he was sitting besides Katos...

"Hey Vincent... You ready for this grad-you-a-ton?" Katos asked...

"Yes... this is what I was waiting for all year... I can finally go out nd prove my worth to the world..."

"That's what I was going to say..." Katos replied...

Amara took a seat next to a girl who was sweating. "Must have been working pretty hard." she thought then looked in the direction of the Principal.

Rosi gently floated about a centimeter above the ground. She sat down in a seat in the middle row. She was very excited, but she was containing that excitement in her head.

Rinku was leaning back in a seat with a blank expression. He looked around the auditorium and glanced at the other classmates. Wonder who will get what? He thought to himself with a yawn.

"Ahem, yes. Welcome to your graduation day! I'm sure you're all anxious to receive your equipment and go out there to fight, but first, a few words--"

The crowd groaned in unison. Piani frowned slightly, but remained silent. "I'm sure it's some crap about 'you've all worked hard, this is a time to rejoice', et cetera," She whispered to Amara with a grin.

"Just get to the party and the graduating already!" Katos yelled across the auditorium...

Vincent laughed... "Oh my god... with you by my side we're gonna die out there..." He continued laughing...

"Of course... i could do nothing better!" Katos smirked and looked back up at the stage... Vincent did as well

Rosi gave a small sigh and looked at the ground anxiously. She hoped that this wouldn't last long. She then looked around at everyone else.

Floating around aimlessly, Lin squeaked out a complaint as she listened to the others murmuring amongst themselves. She yawned to herself and floated herself tiredly, blinking occasionally as she listened.

Rowena and Lucinda both sat together listening to the principal. Even though the two were from different games they had struck up a friendship. "I wonder what weapon I'll get." Rowena mused to Lucinda.

"I'm not sure. Your game isn't violent unless someone adds in a mod." Lucinda replied. "Maybe they took that into consideration."

"Yo' Vincent... think I'm going to get any weapons from my MC Kratos?" Katos asked.

"Of course... they wouldn't give it to any other secondary character..." Vincent chuckled.. "And of course I'm going to get Dante's weapons, huh?"

"Yup! Wouldn't have it any other way!" Katos smirked.

Sarah was sitting on Rinku's head. She was patiently waiting for the principal to get on with the ceremony. Rinku sighed, and muttered something under his breath.

The principal didn't falter as he went into some generic speech about responsibility and risks and how they all started as amateurs. It went on for about five minutes.

"Without further adieu, your equipment," He smiled, and held up a list. "Amara. You will be filling in for Zero. Chelsea, you will take the place of Celica. Rowena, you will fill in for the Sims. Lucinda, you will fill in for the Hero of Bowerstone. Katos, you will take the place of Kratos. Vincent, you will take the place of Dante. Rinku, you will fill in for Link. Sarah, you will be the new Olimar. Rosi, you will be the new Rosalina. Lin, you will Luma. Piani, you will be Mega Man X..." He called some more names. "Please come to the front stage to receive your equipment."

On the stage were different colored boxes, all with the student's names on them.

(This took FOREVER in the original, so I'm doing it in one shot xD)

Rinku waited patiently for the others to get their equipment. He wasn't one for huge crowds of people. Sarah on the other hand ran into the crowd her size helping her sneak past the others.

Katos and Vincent charged onto the stage and quickly looked into the boxes...

"Vincent.. V-Vincent... I got it... Kratos' gear!" Katos cheered...

Vincent looked in his box as well... "Look... Katos, I found all Dante's old apparel, weapons... nevermind not everything... but most things!"

"Me too... they are missing a few pendants, relics, swords, blades, and a bit more... but who cares... I get to be Kratos' new disciple... technically speaking..."

"Sweet," Piani grinned, and got up, jumping over aisles of seats to get to the bottom. She grabbed her box--light blue, with the little lock holding it being a red button. She didn't press it, but stood off to the side as the others went down.

Rinku got up and went to the back of the group. He leaned against a wall and looked over to Rosi. "Hello" he said kindly in an attempted to not seem completely antisocial.
