Jamie nodded his head at Mira. "Need to stay on guard." He quietly
responded. "Good thing a Rattata didn't come by and think it was
food or something." He mused with a small chuckle.
Tiger blinked and noticed Mel and Riu's reactions he froze. "I-I'm
sorry. Cyndaquil and I saw a Magnemite heading towards you,
Mel...um...next time we won't use flamethrower" he said sheepishly
feeling guilty that he startled them.
Cyndaquil flinched from Mel and Riu's reactions and jumped off
Tiger's shoulder he took a few steps back into the tall grass.
"Sorry everyone," Mira flinched. Bad idea. ...Good idea, but bad
execution. She looked to Jamie and let Watt climb onto her arm
and onto her shoulder. "Yeah. I have to ask Mel about it, too, but
later..."
Tiger frowned and looked away guiltily he then walked off quickly
as Z and Mel talked. Maybe I shouldn't have gotten Cyndaquil to
use flamethrower...maybe I should have gotten him to use swift, or
something else. he thought to himself sharply and followed
Cyndaquil quickly. The small mouse Pokémon had climbed into a tree
along one of the routes ledges and was hiding from Riu. Tiger
jumped into the tree as well and grabbed his starter. "I wish I
knew what happened between Z, and Mel. They're both acting off"
Cyndaquil whispered in concern when the two were out of
earshot.
Tiger sighed and sat down on the branch he saw the farm in the
distance. "Me too bud. I'm worried about them" he whispered and
hung his head in defeat. "Maybe from now on you shouldn't use
flamethrower not until those two snap out of whatever's happened to
them" he whispered, and leaned against the tree trunk to wait for
the others to catch up.
Mira jogged down the route. "It's a nice day!" She chirped, trying
to bring the cheerful mood back. Toka flew ahead. Watt jumped off
of her shoulder and onto Toka's tail as she flew by. "The farm
should be busy, I think."
Tiger heard Mira and nodded "the farm isn't usually super busy." He
said with a sigh and dug through his bag.
Cyndaquil looked at Tiger with a frown "wait are you actually
getting rid of flamethrower? I've known that since I hatched."
he asked in a whisper. He looked back toward the direction Mel and
Z were.
"I have the tm for flamethrower for when this is over...but I
think for now we should be careful about using fire type
moves..." Tiger responded speaking Pokémon he didn't want to
scare Mel or Z again. The thought of Z getting worse because of
something he did bothered him. "Though I'm not forcing you to
get rid of the move." he added gently. He was going to get rid
of the move on his Pokémon team unless Cyndaquil protested it.
Cyndaquil sighed and looked at Tiger. "I don't want to scare Mel
or Z either...what do we have?" he asked and grabbed the tm for
rollout. "Guess this will work. I knew this move before aeial
ace." he said evenly, and handed it to Tiger.
Tiger nodded, and pulled out his Pokedex. He loaded up Cyndaquil's
information. He loaded up the moves and scanned rollout's tm.
Scorch wants to learn rollout. However, Scorch already has four
moves. Forget a move to learn rollout? The Pokedex asked. Tiger
nodded and pushed yes he then highlighted flamethrower.
One...two...poof. Scorch forgot flamethrower and Scorch learnt
rollout. Tiger sighed heavily and glanced at Cyndaquil once
more. He then grabbed earthquakes tm and taught it to Charm getting
rid of his Flamethrower move in turn. He then leaned against the
trunk of the tree and waited for the others quietly.
Toka noticed Tiger getting rid of the move. She landed in front of
Mira. "Something's up," Toka whispered.
"No dip, lizard," Mira hissed, but sighed. "Yeah. I know."
Watt climbed up on Toka's head and jumped into the tree, listening.
Toka considered telling Mira what Riu told her, but decided against
it. "What's the plan?"
Tiger sighed and looked down to Mira he knew that they were still
out of earshot from Mel and Z. "This stinks. I hate how secretive
everyone's being" he said to Mira with a sigh. "All I wanted was a
relaxing journey through Johto, but it doesn't seem like that'll
happen..." He whispered.
"We'll make it happen. An adventure will open everyone up," Mira
replied. "...Hopefully. Everyone just needs to talk and get used to
being around everyone again."
Tiger nodded and sighed "yeah maybe" he said unconvinced. "I mean
something happened to Z and Mel. I mean I feel awful for scaring
her...she's never been afraid of Cyndaquil's Flamethrower before"
he said quietly and looked at Cyndaquil.
Tiger nodded and looked back over towards where Mel was. He didn't
expect Z to come over he stumbled back off the branch and into a
pile of leaves. "Well you don't need to worry about flamethrower
anymore. Charm and Cyndaquil forgot it" He asked evenly he sat up
and brushed some leaves out of his hair. Cyndaquil looked at him
from the branch he was in. "What happened between you two and
reshiram"
"It was controlled by Plasma and used flamethrower, I had to push
Mel out of the way and her hair got burned but I got the worst of
it if you couldn't tell already." Z said and pointed to the clipped
side of her head.
Tiger blinked and sighed quietly. "Why didn't you guys tell us? I
mean Mira and I would have been more than willing to help you two
out" he said quietly, and stood up. He then shook his head and
nodded to Cyndaquil. "Guess you had your reasons to not tell us,
and I'm glad you both survived." He didn't say alright seeing as Z
was still acting off. "You don't need to worry about flamethrower
from me. Cyndaquil now knows Rollout, and Charm knows Earthquake"
he shrugged. "Um is Reshiram alright now?" He asked quietly.
"She's fine now that Plasma is gone." Z said as Glacie smiled,
seeing her trainer acting better "also Mel was the one who didn't
want anyone to know, not me."
Mira considered this for a minute. "I wonder why..." She mumbled,
and glanced at Mel. "Well I wish we could have helped. That's one
of those life-or-death things, y'know."
