DISCLAIMER : I don't know if it's been suggested before or if my searching was inadequate, if this has been suggested before please give me the link to the first one i'll go support that but before that i'd recommend to go through the entire suggestion.

Anyways seeing that there's always been problems with most of the users relating to releasing pokemons accidentally, we seriously need a permanent solution to that problem so that we can avoid any unforeseen accident.

The problem is that we try to move our pokemons somewhere else but accidentally end up releasing them. The main root for this problem is that both move and release buttons are closely attached and look alike. Just have a close look at it and think of it once again :

Just think if we had our release button totally at some other location then such accidents could have been avoided ? O.o

Like the pokemons we release go to tall grass as far as i know so i thought it would be a bit more realistic to have the release button there itself isn't it ?
So i suggest that we can shift our release button to a completely new location or maybe in the tall grass itself and the button could be called something as : "Release your pokemon in the tall grass".

Tbh i'm quiet preventive when it comes to releasing and moving pokemons and i personally wouldn't be much affected by using it but this is not a suggestion for my personal benefit but just to help everyone else and create a safe environment out here if possible.

Support or No Support ?
I'd like to hear your opinion on this topic as well ^^

Regards,
Jack !

In my honest opinion?
It shouldn't be nessessary.
When clicking to release a Pokemon it even asks you if you want to release said Pokemon, so how can it be "accidental" when you confirm you want it released?
I know where you're coming from, I've accidently released a shiny before, but that was because I wasn't paying attention to which Pokemon.
Either way, I feel the way it is right now, is fine.

Yep @Professor_Acacia that's true and these are things we need to avoid even today i saw a new user releasing their shiny eevee instead of ventipide so it's to help them ofc if you would have asked to vote me on a suggestion like this i would have voted "I wouldn't be affected by it's use".
But i just thought that something like this is still required to help such people after all everyone resists change so that gives people a reason to vote that it would simplify an existing feature.
Thanks for your feedback though i really appreciate that ^^

At the very least, as you mentioned they look very alike as well. I'm not sure if it would be as effective, but an easier fix from the site perspective would be a simple color change to the button(s), to make them stand out from one another.

There are two warnings, though.
First after you click the 'release' button [either a message if through the Storage Boxes or a Pop-up if through the personal pokémon page]
Second after you click 'confirmed' and that's always a pop-up, no matter where you're planning to release it from.

I would also like to point out that disabling the pop-up isn't possible. You will simply become unable to do certain actions [like release pokémon] if you tell the messages to stop appearing.

As a final point, released pokémon do not go to the Tall Grass, they get released [deleted].

There's a point where we have to say 'stop'; we've done what we can. If you 'accidentally' release shinies/megas or other important pokémon, I'm sorry, but you simply skipped over any warnings you've been given. Moving the release-button won't change that, no matter the good intentions behind them.

Users will still mindlessly press 'Ok' for every warning we give them, without actually reading anything, no matter where the button is located. So, with all that said, and as they're in the Storage Boxes when they're released, it makes more sense to keep the button where it is ^^'

First all the accidental releases you've mentioned would still happen if the button was elsewhere, you'd still end up accidentally clicking/releasing the wrong one if you're prone to doing that

Secondly, it's convenient where it is, I can release large groups of pokemon from my hunt fodder box when it gets full. I'd hate if I had to release them one at a time, or if I had to do anything more than hitting that tiny checkbox

The secret to not releasing important pokemon is to pay attention, there's confirmation boxes in case you hit release instead of move, you can put your favorites on your battle teams to keep them from being accidentally released, etc.

If you can read this, you know how to read.

Aside from the aforementioned reasons for “being careful of what you do” and “the responsibility of warning someone who ignores warnings” that have already been mentioned. By having some separate Tall Grass function that has these “released Pokemon” raises the potential that anyone other than the OT/current owner can “claim” the “released Pokemon. This strikes me as more unfair if your point of “its an accident that they released ‘x’”, its like paying for your mistake of inattention twice-over.

Should the Tall Grass have such an additional function, if I am not mistaken, it would resemble the shelter feature from PFQ. This is PokeHeroes, not PokeFarm.

Quote from Jack_SparrowLike the pokemons we release go to tall grass as far as i know

Might I also add in that only eggs released from the Daycare after they've been in there for a full 24 hours get sent to the Tall Grass. Already hatched Pokemon when released just get, well, basically deleted from the system. They do not get sent to the Tall Grass.

Upon request [and because this suggestion doesn't actually help, just shifts the problem], this suggestion will be locked and moved to rejected.
