“Thank you!” Victor said. “Also, I hope the big cats here didn’t scramble a lot.” He joked.

The trainer looked at his angry Cyndaquil. “Blaze... also I promise to use you in any further battle. I didn’t have a choice and didn’t want you to be steamrolled by rollout.”

Tiger nodded, and looked at his Cyndaquil. The Pokemon went to Blaze, and tries to cheer the other Pokemon up by using a light flamethrower.

Blaze looked at the flamethrower and tried to smile a little.
"You'll be pretty much my ace in the next gym since Bugsy uses bug types." Victor said to Blaze. The Cyndaquil nodded.

"I don’t want any big CATS around me, the electric mouse Pokemon, thank you very much." Volt said.

"Also I find it funny that a big cat started with the Fire mouse Pokemon." Blaze Added, looking at Tiger's Cyndaquil.

Suddenly a real bark/roar combination was sensed by Victor's ears.
"Er... Mel, you sure know how to roar." Victor said. "Though it sounds more dog-like than it should be."

"I guess..." Victor said rather shakily. The bark-like roar was sounding as if in pain, and it soon changed into an ominous howl.

"Its howling. And it dosen’t seem like a joke." Volt said, and his cheeks and tail began to radiate light.

Dewott leapt off Mel's shoulder and onto the ground, holding up the shells that were originally by his sides.

"We should go check it out." Mel urged. "It sounded like it was hurt or something."

As Victor got closer and closer to the howling sound, the temperature of the area increased. He went towards the source of the heat and sound, and suddenly, a black canine think jumped on the trainer.

Blaze and Volt instinctively used ember and thunder wave, both of the moves hit both Victor and the Pokémon. The Pokémon absorbed ember but got paralysed.

Without thinking, Dewott launched a ferocious water gun at the canine thing. "Get off!"

Mel seemed to recognize the colors and immediately paled. "I'm just gonna.. go.." She slowly backed up a bit.

The Pokémon fell down and Victor’s Pokedex took its first chance to shine in Johto. “Houndour, the dark Pokémon. It is smart enough to hunt in packs. It uses a variety of cries for communicating with others“ It said.

Victor looked at the dark Pokemon who was now growling, angered by the water gun and thunder wave. The Pokemon stumbled and limped slightly, revealing that its front right paw was hurt.
