She placed a paw on Crystal's, taking a deep breath. "Bear with me. I've only done this a few times." The Poochyena chuckled.
She inhaled, then exhaled, pouring a little bit of her energy into Crystal. Just like the other few times she had tried this, she felt something click. Almost like a lock being unlocked with a key.
"Now try. This takes some concentration. Think of being a Ghost type."

"Now the Ghost type is similar to Dark type. You shouldn't have too many issues when it comes to this." She stepped forward letting the mist around her swirl at her pawtips. With a little hop, she began levitating.
"Instead of absorbing the shadows and bending them with your essense, you just will them with your mind to do what you please. As an added bonus, they can inflict nightmares and go through walls, if you concentrate enough."
She dropped to the ground, a small plume of smoke rising like dust.
"Give it a try. All it takes is one small hop, and a little concentration. You should already feel light, since ghosts are naturally weightless."

Realizing how spooked he was getting, Bracken focused his attention on Crystal's attempt at the Ghost type. Lunaro had managed to dispel the darkness, much to his relief, but yet it still lingered in the far corner of his mind, refusing to be forgotten.

Regardless, the wolf felt like Crystal just needed some time alone, and Lunaro felt that this was a perfect time to help Bracken begin.
"Well, how about we begin?" She asked him, her fur rippling into shiny scales. Her fur was quickly replaced by the scales of a reptilian animal, and her claws - normally covered by fur - were fully shown now. Jet black dragon wings protruded from her back, and she flapped them experimentally. Her ears were still there, tipped with fur.
The Poochyena stretched, her scales rippling. "Haven't been in this form in a while!" She commented, examining herself.
"Okay," he said, taking a deep breath. "I'm ready."
"Oh my..." said Endo, a bit shocked. "Well, this is...new... To say the least." He ducked back inside his shell, and rolled over to the strange wolf Pokemon and its partner. He could still remember how to roll from when he knew Rollout, but he could no longer preform the move, sadly. But that was fine. He knew better moves, now. He examined the Poochyena's scales.
"Exactly how did this happen?" He asked, curious, confused, and shocked at the same time. "In all my years, I've never seen anything quite like it."

She stepped away, giving him a small smile. "Alright, just do what I told Crystal." She said.
One of her ears twitched as a voice spoke up, and she looked down at the Shuckle at her paws.
Not just that, it was a Shiny! Lunaro had only seen one other Shuckle before, but it was red. It had said something about one of its family members being Shiny as well.
It had said they had a cerulean shell.
This was shocking, to say the least. Shinies were incredibly rare! Only one had existed in the camp Lunaro had grown up in, and her eyes widened in surprise.
"You're...a Shiny." She muttered, almost incredulously. She shook her head, then said, "What, this?"
The Poochyena flapped her dragon-like wings, looking back at them before she turned to the Shuckle.
"Well, have you heard of the Chrystanigh?" She asked. How many times had she said the question now?
Four or five times? Oh geez, it was going to get repetitive, wasn't it?
'Well, maybe one of the others could explain it eventually.' She thought, letting out a silent sigh.
He concentrated on the raging power, willing it to come out. It was all too eager. At his first urge, Bracken felt something grow on his arm, but it burned. This time he couldn't keep himself from yelling in pain, and his eyes shot open. A patch of blue-purple scales was on his arm, steadily expanding, the pain spreading in its wake. He struggled to get control of it, trying to slow it down or, preferably, stop it altogether. While it did not do much, it slowed down a little, the burning lessening as well.
It was hard to keep his focus between the power that wanted to get out and his hurting arm, but Bracken knew that if he let go for even a second the burning would come back. He had managed to reduce it to a small but still painful sting, but he couldn't stop its spreading. His breathing was hard and he didn't know how much longer he could hold onto it.
"H-Help..." he managed to whisper, gritting his teeth.
Stupid! Why didn't she expect something like this?! First Crystal, now Bracken...
Her paw touched Bracken's arm once more, and she took some of the burning energy. Yes, she understood why he was in pain. The Poochyena remembered the terrifying time she had when trying to master this destructive type.
"Look, Dragon type is a very powerful type." She explained. "It's properties are devastating, and a well-trained warrior could obliterate communities within heartbeats with its destructive power. Which is why it's an uncommon type to gain on the first try. Only those that could possibly handle this type of power can correctly harness it."
She gave him a reassuring smile. "I believe you can do this. I wouldn't have unlocked the ability if I didn't think you were ready."
However, her paw stayed. She wasn't too sure if he would be to fully handle the burning that came with learning it for the first time.
Then, just as quickly as it had started, it ended. The burning dissolved into a dull fizzle as the power inside him calmed a bit. Shaking a bit, Bracken collapsed, landing hard on his bottom. He looked down at himself. The blueish-purple scales completely covered him, sharpening at the ends of his fingers and toes like makeshift claws. While he couldn't get a good look at them, he was just able to see the wings protruding from his back.
It was then that he noticed the Shuckle. Having never seen one before, he didn't notice that it was a Shiny. "Uh... hi," he said, in between panting breaths.
"See? I knew you could do it."
She circled around him, making sure nothing seemed out of place, then settled onto her haunches in front of him.
"The most important thing that you need to know about this type is that's it's very destructive. You must know how to control your abilities. I wouldn't be too worried though; most new Dragon types are a little on the weak side, since they're bodies have to adjust. I'd assume that it would be the same for you."
Her tail curled around her as she continued.
"Being a Dragon type has some great advantages too. Mastering such a difficult type is really rewarding. You gain the ability to fly,-" She flapped the dragon-like wings on her back. "-you're able to breath fire, once you've become accustomed,-" She shot out a small plume of fire, watching as it curled upwards, then dissipated. "-and you have very few weaknesses. Ice types, Fairy types, and other Dragon types are the only things that can seriously harm you. Of course, this does not mean that you can become cocky with your abilities. It is possible to fall from a creature that you become too reckless with."
She tilted her head at him. "And the burning sensation you felt? It's just the way Dragon types naturally are. Eventually, you won't feel that pain. Shifting into the type will come as naturally as breathing."
"Wow..." Bracken said finally. "Is there anything I could try?" he asked, eager to try out his new powers but not sure where to begin.
