Lightningclaw nodded, and kindly looked at Silvermoon. He was
unsure of what to say to cheer her up, but he remembered how she
was at the vigil for the fallen cats after the dog attack. "I'm
sure you'll see Hawkstorm again. I'm StarClan" he said softly.
Silvermoon nodded. "I am sure I will too, but it still doesn't help
the fresh pain. I am just glad the other clans helped us with the
dogs" she replied.
After Sunkit placed the mouse near his mother, he tumbled out the
den. He hadnt been outside the nursery too often, and he wanted to
explore the camp. Surely Sunpetal won't mind. he thought. He
could see his father talking with another she-cat. He decided to
walk up.
Lightningclaw nodded, mand sighed "we could have lost more warriors
if they didn't help" he mumbled darkly, and remembered his brother,
Rainfeather. He then looked to the nursery and saw Sunkit.
Silvermoon nodded before looking at Sunkit. "Does Sunpetal know you
are out here little one" she asked kindly, lowering herself to the
ground to not look as large to the kit.
Lightningclaw tilted his head. "If you go back now, I could play
moss ball with you when I get back from hunting patrol" he said
kindly to his kit, and purred.
Lightningclaw sighed, and purred "kits" he shook his head. "Come on
let's go before all the prey decides to go to sleep" he said
quietly, and went to the exit of camp.
Silvermoon looked around. "We still need Sagepaw and Grayblaze. I
think Sagepaw is still sleeping" she replied and looked towards the
apprentices den, and heard slight snoring coming from the dilute
calico apprentice.
Lightningclaw nodded, and sat by the entrance to camp. He waited
for the rest of the hunting patrol. The events of the dog fight
replaying in his mind. He shook his head clear and looked at the
sky in silence.
Cherryflight nodded to Lionfang, and huffed. "Alright." He
said calmly, glancing around for a moment before looking back at
the other tom. "Let's go then." He prompted, tail swishing through
the air, cutting it.
Sunpetal awoke and blinked, looking to Sunkit. "Good morning,
darling..." She said quietly, "How long have you been awake?" She
asked, a bit of guilt filling her. She knew that kits often became
bored easily, and she hoped he hadn't caused any trouble or been
bored out of his mind. She shifted, tail flicking off her nose and
onto the ground.
Littleflower curled up on the bed, blinking slowly. "Might as well
get a wink of sleep while I have a little time." She said quietly,
closing her eyes and trying to drift off silently. She did after a
while, snoring softly and tail flitting off the ground and back
down every once and a while.
Lightningclaw got bored with sitting, and waiting for the rest of
the patrol. He called to Silvermoon in a kind, but bored, tone.
"Hey I'm going to visit Sunpetal. Just tell me when you're ready"
he meowed kindly, and walked toward the nursery.
Sunpetal sighed softly, her stomach growling. "Oh dear... I
dunno if going to get food is an option..." She said quietly,
flicking her tail. Her face heated up as her stomach growled
softly. She bit her lip, glancing around the nursery
subtlety.
Lightningclaw saw the mouse that Sunkit struggled to bring into the
nursery. He held back a purr, and walked into the nursery quietly,
after picking up the mouse that Ravenpaw originally brought.
"Sunpetal? Are you awake?" He asked in a gentle tone, the mouse's
fur was muffling his meow.
Sunpetal's ears perked at her mate's voice, and she smiled.
"Mhm! I just woke up." She said, before looking to her kit. "Oh?
Thank you, sweetie." She said softly, before glancing at the
entrance of the nursery, seeing Lightningclaw. Her tail
twitched.
Lightningclaw placed the mouse next to Sunpetal. "How are you,
Sunkit, and Hazekit today" he asked softly, and pressed his muzzle
against her cheek gently.
