"Rosestar sent us to scare off a fox that Crystalpaw had scented. The fox is gone now." Gingerpelt replied, still feeling the blood oose out of a wound on her pad.

Cherryflight leaned against Gingerpelt, his right foot aching. He sighed at the feeling of relief from the aching in his paw, and he closed his eyes for a moment. He owned them, his breathing getting a bit heavier.

[the patrol is heading back after the battle. Bluepaw is overwhelmed by how stressed out Breezeflight seems by kissing the fight. Breezeflight is feeling guilty about the fight with the fox.]

Bluepaw looked ahead. His gaze was clouded with pain as he limped onward. "I'll go tell Thistlepool, and Ivypaw who's hurt" Ashpelt said softly, and ran ahead to the camp entrance. Bluepaw nodded hollowly, and continued onward in silence.

"I-I'll be better when I get back to camp" he said gently. He continued to keep his eyes in the path ahead in an attempt to keep his mind clear. "You weren't hurt in battle...were you?" He asked suddenly. When the battle happened, he didn't see know who got hurt. He side glanced at Crystalpaw, and saw some of his own blood on her black, and white pelt. He felt slightly embarrassed, that he got her fur dirty, but he was relieved that was the most blood on her. "Err...sorry" he meowed showing his embarrassment.

Ivypaw glanced outside. "Ashpelt is back!" She told Thistlepool, running out of the den. "Is everyone alright?" She asked the warrior, sniffing him for wounds.

"I'll be fine" Ashpelt meowed kindly, and swiped a paw over a scratch on his muzzle. "Bluepaw, and Cherryflight might be the worst. Bluepaw has a deep wound in his shoulder, and Cherryflight is battered" he explained quickly.

Ivypaw nodded. "Tell them not to move. We'll come to them," She said, sprinting back into the medicine cat den. "Two cats got hurt badly; Bluepaw has a deep wound, and Cherryflight is battered," She reported.

Bluepaw blinked and nodded. "Al-alright" he mewled quietly. "Thanks for the help by the way..." He said gently, and looked back at the oath ahead. He saw the camp entrance nearby. "I'm sorry if I annoy you..." He said quietly as he thought about earlier in the day when she hissed at him.

Ashpelt nodded, and ran back to the camp exit. He pulled his way through the barrier, and looked for the others. He spotted them a short way away. "At least the medicine cats won't have to go far" he meowed gently.

Riverfur's ear flicked in annoyance, what were they doing? "Are you gonna tell me that Rosestar meant for this to happen? She sent in apprentices-and newer ones at that. She should've sent in strong warriors like yo-" He was suddenly cut off by a cuff on the ear and a stern look from his brother. "Don't question Rosestar's decisions! Of course she had a good reason for sending them too-she probably wanted them to have a learning experience...or something." Duskpath snapped, then lowered his voice. Now that he thought about it, Cherryflight was hurt too.. "...Lets go check on the kits." Riverfur grumbled and stalked off towards the two apprentices. Great, now he was sulking! You're such an amazing brother, Duskpath. The lilac point tom guiltily decided to trail after his brother, sending a worried glance at the other warriors.

Bluepaw flicked an ear, but didn't ask anymore to Crystalpaw. What else was she going to say? he thought with a sharp pang, and heard pawsteps coming from camp. Looking up he saw Ashpelt, the warrior stopped by the group. "Ivypaw, and Thistlepool will meet us here. Rest now" he said kindly and looked at Bluepaw. The apprentice then collapsed at the command that Ashpelt gave. He felt like he couldn't go on anymore.

Breezeflight walked straight to the nursery, only to find Whispertail gone. He panicked, knowing that his siblings would be born soon enough. He dashed out, not bothering to ask the other Queen, Littlefish, where his mother was. He bounded straight to the Elders' den, since he knew that was likely where she was.

Sure enough, he found Whispertail chatting with Sandfur. The golden tom was telling her a story about the previous leader and how he was strong and lost his last life to sickness. Of course, he could also hear the empty tones of Sandfur as he muttered about his family. "Whispertail, should you be out of the nursery?" Breezeflight asked.

"She's not doing any harm," Sandfur responded.

Cherryflight looked to Gingerpelt slowly, asking a question softly, "Could we maybe sit? Wait til Thistlepool arrives? If that's not too much to ask." His voice shook, and his leg twitched as he let out a soft whimper. Blood trickled down his sides from the cuts, small rocks wedged in them. He closed his eyes with a deep breath.
