The Elementist (open RP)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → The Elementist (open RP)"Uh, no. We've been walking for six and a half minutes." Aiden replied in a flat tone.
"It does feel like it's been hours." Lucia offered. Cam grinned at her.
The three had begun to continue walking. Cam was limping, favoring her left leg, grumbling something about "black eyes" and "stupid monsters". She'd probably just twisted it, but it still stung. All three were exhausted mentally. Fighting monsters certainly seemed to take a toll on their mental state, and Cam was running on adrenaline at the moment. Lydia's shoulder had a small scrape, and some of the skin around Aiden's left eye had been torn open. It was till bleeding a bit.
"We cant keep going like this." Aiden finally announced. "We need to stop."
"We're fine." Cam responded, voice tight with annoyance. "Nobody's dying."
Aiden raised one eyebrows. "Says the one with the death wish."
Cam snorted. "My death wish saved both of your miserable lives, so back off."
Lucia let out a startled laugh. She hasn't been expecting that (during her time with the two siblings, she learned that they shot rude comments back and forth as a sign of affection. Is that what siblings did? She jotted that down to search up later).
Sasha was by his side. Holding his hand. "Silly. You used up all of your powers and used some of your reserves."
"Was that what happened?" Allen asked. "I thought it was the bad beans I had this morning."
Sasha smiled. "I'm just glad you're alive."
Jake looked at Sorin. "That can't be possible."
"It is." Sorin said. "He tried to stop The One. And failed."
That's when Jake figured it out. The One was an interdimensional immortal being. It would have learned the mistakes the other one did in the other universe and made his plan even more harder.
"Tell me Sorin." Jake said. "Is The One fully awake?"
Sorin closed his eyes. "It seems you know a great deal about my kind. For a human Ancient hybrid."
Elizabeth looked at Jake, "is that true?"
Jake nodded. "Yeah, I am."
Sorin then said, "yes. The One is awake. Hes been awake for a few millennia. He has used our greatest enemy, the Zorgrons, to put an end to both my kind and humans."
Aiden screeched and tackled her for the phone. "For my sanity's sake, why didn't you think of those, oh, I dunno, when we first starting looking?!"
As the two scrabbled around on the ground, yelling at each other furiously (Licia swears she heard something along the lines of "You wouldn't! You rude beef jerky!" "Did you just beef jerky me, Cameron?" "You heard me you limp lettuce!" "Now THAT'S crossing a line! Cold oatmeal!" "Ew, Aiden, that's gross." "I KNOW, RIGHT?"), Lucia sighed and tug her phone out of her pocket, scrolling around and tapping Sasha's number. She wasn't exactly sure when she'd gotten it, but she could only hope they still had their phones on them.
("GOD YOU'RE SUCH A COLD ASPARAGUS." "EXCUSE YOU??" "YOU HEARD ME CAM." "YOU LITERAL SOGGY CHEESE." "CAMERON WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK.")
"So what am I supposed to do now?" Jake asked.
"Did you and your friends get the Second generation of elements?" Sorin asked.
"Yeah." Jake said. "I kinda know what I'm doing." He then told Sorin everything.
"Interesting." He said. He then brought out a small object and tossed it into the air. A portal appeared.
"Go back to your planet. I'll try and muster some kind of group together in order to beat the monster army."
Cam and Aiden were laughing on the ground now. They high-fived each other, laughing.
"I actually want a cookie though." Cam said after a few beats. She pulled her backpack off and dug around in it, pulling out a box of assorted cookies. "Aha!"
Aiden stared at her. "Did you actually grab that? Gimme one."
Cam laughed, handing him the box as she buy into one. Lucia groaned into her hand.
"That's cause it was a good idea." Allen said.
"Never mind him" Sasha said. "Did you find any survivors?"
"Didn't think phones still work now." Jake said, appearing out of a portal right next to Sasha. Elizabeth followed close by Jake.
"Oh my gosh! Don't scare me like that!" Sasha screamed at them.
"Sorry. Didn't know we were going to appear right next to you." Jake said.
"Hey," Cam said indignantly. "My impulsive death wish saved you and Aiden!"
"Shut up Cam, I'm on the phone. No, we couldn't find anybody. We looked around the town but there was no one- DEAR GOD don't scream like that!" Lucia let out a high pitched screech, nearly dropping her phone. She fumbled around with it for a second before bringing it back up. She placed her free hand over her heart. "I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it had something to do with Jake and Elizabeth? Where are you guys anyway?"
"Mind if I see your phone for a sec?" Jake asked.
Sasha handed him the phone.
"So I couldn't find what I was looking for, but we got some information that will definitely help us. Come meet us at Chicago. I think it's time to tell you everything"
Aiden groaned, standing up and cracking his back. "Illinois? I don't wanna walk." He whined.
"And that's why we're stealing their car." Lucia replied, jerking her thumb over her shoulder. There was a car a ways off, and as they neared it, Lucia could see the keys on the seat. She grinned widely. "Excellent." She punched through the window, grabbing the keys and unlocking the doors before jumping in. "Let's go."
Cam leapt into the backseat, sprawling out. "Get in losers we're going shopping." Her voice cracked on the last few words and she yawned, curling into herself. She fell asleep quickly.
Aiden sat beside Lucia in the front. The girl was driving quickly.
They'd been driving for hours. Cam was still asleep, and Aiden was nodding off when Lucia punched the brakes. Aiden awoke with a screech, hitting the front of the car and rubbing his head.
"We're here. Look." Lucia said, gesturing out the window. Aiden nodded and yawned, reaching back to shake Cam awake. The redhead groaned and stretched, pushing the door open and exiting slowly. Aiden followed her example and Lucia, still not tired, how was she not, leapt out cheerfully. They approached the others and Lucia waved.
Everyone sat down and looked at Jake. "I guess it's time for you all to know." He sighed. "As most of you know, my conciousness was at the other universe. Almost like a different me. That's how I know a lot of things, especially when it comes to the elements. Secondly. The Darkness Element. As I've said before, it corrupts the best of us. But one person managed to keep control of themselves and use that power beyond any Elementist's extent. Even mine. He is dead in this universe. But I think I may know a way to bring him back. But that is planning too far ahead. Third. I know who we are going up against. His name is, The One. A true immortal as he puts it. He made it possible for people to weild the elements. He is one of the strongest foes out there. How he did so was extract some of these powers from Elementals. Immortal creatures that are the very life of each element. Just us alone will not be able to stop The One. That's why we are going to need what's left of the world, and the help from the Ancients to put a stop to him."
"Oh, Jake." Allen said. "I remember you telling me, Sasha, and Elizabeth this. But you forgot one thing." He stood up. "Isn't The One like the big great Gran daddy of the Ancients?"
"Yes." Jake said. "It is said that he was the very first Ancient. That even without the elements, he wiped out entire planets."
"So why hasn't he wiped us out?" Sasha asked.
"I don't know." Jake said. "In the other universe, his plans were delayed by the Dark Elementist I talked about earlier. When he managed to put him in a deep sleep for a few millennia"
"Cam," Aiden started, tone slightly serious. "What are you doing."
"Saving this. Y'know, in case we survive and need something to look back on and laugh at?" Cam glared at him. "I'm writing it down because I'm totally gonna forget all of that."
Aiden looked back at Jake. "From what we've seen, there isn't much left of this world. Our group didn't find anything."
Cam's eyes nearly popped out of her head. "Oh my god, I forgot!" She exclaimed. "Well! When I was fighting that Ancient, Well showed up and saved me!" She looked around nervously. "I hope he's okay." She glanced at the ground as she tucked the paper and pen back into her backpack.
Aiden nodded at her before retiring his attention to Jake. Lucia played with the hem of her shirt silently.
"No Well, you just startled us." Jake said. "So did you take out that other Ancient?"
"We fought for a good hour or two. Then he said that he was being called. So he headed out." Well answered.
"Ok." Jake said. He turned his attention back to the group. "I think it's time to check on the small towns and such. A good plan to any war, is to attack the populated areas. We might find something useful. Or more people. But be wary of monsters and Assassins
"Are we going together or splitting up?" Aiden asked. He personally didn't care, but he knew some people preferred seperating or staying together.
Cam yawned into her sleeve. "Whatever we're doing, let's do it now before it gets dark. It'll be hard to search in the dark, even with our powers."
"Dude, he's already gone." Allen said.
Jake looked around. "At least We'll seems to be the same in this universe." Jake muttered to himself
Aiden nodded, standing up from his spot on the ground. "Pulling the vanishing act." He mumbled.
Lucia glanced at Elizabeth nervously and offered her a small smile. She hadn't really talked to Elizabeth (or anyone, actually..). But hey, new circumstances require new things for people.
"Gonna be ok man?" Jake asked him.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Who needs help when you got Allen." He said.
Jake patted him on the back. "Don't die on me bro."
"I won't." Jake turned to Cam and Aiden. "So where do you want to head to?"
Sasha walked up to Allen. "I think he forgot about me."
"Give him some slack," Allen said. "Jake has a lot on his mind. He really wants to save the universe and keep his true self from turning over to Darkness"
Aiden shrugged. "Maybe an out-of-the-way-ish kind of place? The cities wet obviously destroyed quickly, they were probably targeted because of how many life forms were visible. But if it were an out of the way-ish place, then there probably wouldn't have been as high a chance of being hit. Right?"
Cam gaped at him. "You know, that actually sounded smart."
Aiden pretended to flip his hair dramatically. "I worked on my smart-talk. So even if it's not true, it'll still sound like I'm sorta smart."
"Whatever floats your boat."
Elizabeth looked at Lucia. "So...How about we go to Venice? I can fly with my flaming wings, and you can swim fast with your water element."
Allen looked at Sasha. "Guess we can clear some of the small towns we passed on the way here."
Cam stared at him. "You know perfectly well that I had dibs on shotgun next and you stole it? Thievery. I won't forget this." She pulled the backseat door open and sat down, pulling out her pad of paper and pen and scribbling something new down before shoving it back into her bag. She waved out the window at Lucia, who waved back.
Lucia nodded, smiling faintly. "That'll be exciting." She said brightly. "I've always wanted to go there."
Jake put on his seatbelt. "If I were you guys. I'd put my seatbelt on. I drive a little bit crazy." He gunned the gas before they could say anything.
Allen and Sasha found a small home by itself. Sasha knocked on the door, and to their surprise, someone answered. "What do you want!"
