The Moltres I caught was on my fiances account so I technically still don't have one, I'm going out again this evening before they release Zapdos.

Zapdos is a PAIN in the butt to catch! He's pretty easy to take down, but he moves A LOT when you're trying to catch him.
My current Legendary stats
Lugia - 1/2
Articuno - 3/3
Moltres - 0/5
Zapdos - 1/2

If they DO release Ho-Oh, he'll be around for at least a week right? So something like August 14th - August 21st. They'll take a few weeks break and then released Gen 3 I think. Because we have the halloween and thanksgiving event coming up soon also.

A few new updates today!
1) Soon, we’ll be able to battle the Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo in the all-new Exclusive Raid Battle feature!
- Exclusive Raid Battles are similar to existing Raid Battles, with a few notable differences. Exclusive raids will periodically appear at Gyms around the world; however, unlike existing raids, Trainers will be invited to join an Exclusive Raid Battle. To receive an invitation to participate in an Exclusive Raid Battle, Trainers must have successfully completed a raid recently, by defeating the Raid Boss, at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place. The invitations will include advance warning of when the Exclusive Raid will take place, giving them ample time to coordinate with other Trainers before taking on the powerful Raid Boss.
Mewtwo is the first Pokémon that Trainers will be able to face in Exclusive Raid Battles, but other powerful Pokémon may also start to hatch from the Raid Eggs found at Exclusive Raid Battles over the next several weeks. Make sure you’re prepared to battle Mewtwo by powering up your Pokémon and battling in raids at Gyms near you!
This is a neat little feature because in the movie Pokémon: The First Movie a group of scientists obtain a fossilized eyelash of the legendary Pokémon, Mew, and clone it to create a super soldier named Mewtwo. The project is successful as Mewtwo awakens, but upon learning the scientists plan to treat him as an experiment, Mewtwo unleashes his psychic powers and destroys the laboratory.
Giovanni, leader of Team Rocket and the project's benefactor, convinces Mewtwo to work with him to hone his powers. However, Mewtwo learns his purpose is to be a weapon for Giovanni's benefit and escapes back to New Island where he plots revenge against humanity. Several Pokémon trainers are invited to New Island to meet and battle the world's greatest Pokémon Master. Ash, Misty, and Brock accept the challenge, but when they arrive at the port city Old Shore Wharf, a powerful storm whips up, preventing the trainers from sailing to the island. However, several trainers use their Pokémon to travel across the sea. Ash's group are picked up by Team Rocket disguised as Vikings, but the storm sinks their boat, and they individually make it to New Island.
So that's a neat little throwback to the first movie that we have to get invitations to battle Mewtwo now!
2) Legendary Pokémon Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Lugia have been spotted in Raid Battles around the world until August 31!

~~~OFFICIAL POKEMON GO LIVE INFORMATION~~~
Trainers,
Over the last several weeks, we’ve heard so many incredible stories of Trainers teaming up together around the world to catch Pokémon GO’s first Legendary Pokémon. We’re excited to keep the legendary adventures going!
Starting August 31, the Legendary Pokémon Raikou, Entei, and Suicune will begin appearing in Pokémon GO. Trainers worldwide can look forward to battling these Pokémon together with friends in Raid Battles for the chance to catch the trio of Legendary Pokémon originally from the Johto region. Raikou, Entei, and Suicune will be traveling the world throughout the coming months. From August 31 to September 30, you can find these Legendary Pokémon in the following areas of the world:
- Raikou, an Electric-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout the Americas.
- Entei, a Fire-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout Europe and Africa.
- Suicune, a Water-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
On September 30, all three of these Legendary Pokémon will move to a different location and will be available for Trainers to battle with friends until October 31. They will make their final stop in the last remaining location on October 31. Raikou, Entei, and Suicune will be available for this limited time period, so make sure to battle against them when they arrive at Gyms near you!
While these Legendary Pokémon are traveling the world, we’ll also begin an EX Raid Battle (formerly Exclusive Raid Battle) field-testing phase at select Gyms before the feature is made available globally. We have collected some valuable early feedback on the new EX Raid Battle feature and will look to further test and hone the experience through the feedback of the dedicated global Trainer community. During the field test, we’ll be making periodic adjustments to EX Raid eligibility requirements, frequency, times, locations, and durations with the goal of making the EX Raid Battle feature engaging, rewarding, and most importantly, fun for Trainers who regularly participate in Raid Battles.
The first EX Raid Passes will be sent out soon, and those invited will have an opportunity to try out the new system as early as September 6. Stay tuned for more updates as we launch the EX Raid Battle field test to more Gyms in the weeks ahead. We look forward to reading all your constructive feedback on our social media channels and encourage you to continue share your thoughts throughout the EX Raid Battle field test!
I stopped playing last year around the time they removed the nearby pokemon/tracking feature; it wasn't much fun to play then ;;
I started a new account a few days ago - I forgot how much I love it! Having the Gen 2 pokemon really helps as well~ however, since I haven't played for so long I have no idea what the raid system is, so I've seen Raikous around but idk how to get one :<
Anyway, happy to join! :)
Raikou's are a Raid Boss. You need to get a raid pass (you get these by spinning the little circles at the top of gyms! - or by spending 100 poke coins), and then you need a group of people to try and defeat it (where it's a level 5 Raid Boss, it'll take roughly 10 people), and then you get a chance to catch him after he's been defeated. It's a bit of a process, but it's worth it!
I haven't played since classes started, but I did manage to catch three Raikou's the week before. I was content with that. :)
