Char looked down, trying to find the source of the food. Once she found it, she started jumping down to the ground using the fire escape. She tracked the scent to a small food cart that was left unattended, probably about to close down.

[gonna skip a bit with my characters bc i dont feel like being dramatic right now]
In the morning, Alex and CJ decided to travel together to learn more about their unknown parent, her mother in Alex's case and his father in CJ's, respectively. They left the penthouse early that morning with their Pokemon and headed out towards Route 5 to get to Ambrette Town.

During their traveling, the two battled trainers and took a break to heal their Pokemon a bit.
"Squirtle, you did an amazing job!" Alex praised whilst feeding the Water-type a Sitrus Berry followed by a Poke Puff. "You even learned Aqua Tail, I'm so proud of you."

Meanwhile, CJ tended to his Combusken, newly evolved from the last trainer he faced. "You look great, bud." CJ complimented, smiling as he sprayed the Combusken with an Antidote. He took out a couple of Poke Puffs himself and sent out his Eevee to take one for himself. While he gestured for the Eevee to get his, a wild Pancham ran up and stole the treat right out of the young trainer's hand.
"Eevee!" the Evolution Pokemon shouted. "Hey, that's not yours." CJ told the Pokemon who responded by attacking the trainer with a Dark Pulse, countered by Eevee's Swift.

After a battle, Eevee weakened the Pancham enough with one final blow from a Tackle attack and CJ successfully captured it.

Shade had followed the two trainers without waking Jade up, which is extremely hard to do because of her hearing. She had spotted CJ's eevee and couldn't help but run up to it and tackle it playfully.

Jade had woken up to find that Shade was gone. She began pacing the room, panicking silently.

Char, after getting the food, wandered around Coumarine City until the sun came up. She stopped, yawning, and looked at the sunrise on the dock.

Mira woke up shivering. The window was still open. "Char, did you open-" She rolled over and glanced down at the bed only to see Char gone. "Char?" She sat up, looking around the room.

[Continuing the recap: CJ's Torchic evolved into Combusken and he caught a Pancham]
CJ's Eevee became flustered as it was tackled by the playful Zorua.
"Ee-vee-vee-vee-vee-vee!" it panicked, appearing to still be not only weakened but startled from the battle against CJ's newly captured Pancham that ended moments before.

Alex turned her attention from practicing with her Squirtle and her own Eevee after hearing CJ's Eevee cry out. "Hey, isn't that Jade's Zorua?" she asked CJ, recognizing the Illusion Fox Pokémon.

Carlie exited the forest where she had been looking for Pokemon, a third Pokeball now in her hand as she grinned.

Tess glanced at Char, who had popped up by her. "Hey, wait, aren't you Mira's?"

Char barked and sniffed Tess. Her tail wagged.

Mira, meanwhile, had quickly gotten dressed and had sprinted outside with her pokemon belt. "Char!" She called, walking down the route.

Once the twins traveled a bit more, they'd finally reached Connecting Cave. CJ, eager to use his Combusken's newly added Fighting typing and his newly caught Pancham at the Cyllage City Gym, suggested going there first. Alex initially agreed as the Pokemon Showcase didn't start for another 3 hours or so, though they'd found that the part of the cave to Cyllage City had been blocked off by a pile of rocks.

"Guess we have to go to Ambrette Town now." CJ told Alex, who nodded and smiled happy to get ready for the Showcase.
"My..." she started. "Our dad gave me a dress to perform in and it looks really nice." she informed, looking back at CJ and not paying attention to things around her, tripping over something in the process.
"What the --?" she asked looking down at a Pokemon Egg before gently picking it up, CJ simply watching his sister do so.

Jade ran into the twins after having her Rockruff sniff out where Shade had goneand for once she was out of breath. She saw shade hiding behind Cj's leg and shade knew what was going to happen next.

CJ and Alex noticed Jade approaching. "Hey." CJ greeted with a warm smile, Alex doing the same whilst holding her newly found egg gently.
"I can't find your Zorua anywhere." CJ joked.

Faye's plane landed in Lumiose City. "Oh my god! I can't believe daddy would only pay for coach!" she complained loudly to her Seviper slithering alongside her.
She used a digital Town Map to locate the Professor's Lab and entered it once she'd gotten there.
"Hello?" she asked loudly, cautiously taking a few steps inside.

Jade rolled her eyes then whistled for Shade to come out from hiding. Shade did so and sat in front of jade facing her, ears back. Jade took out a pokeball and tapped Shade's head with it, returning her to the pokeball. She then returned Rockruff to their pokeball.

"Do you wanna go to Ambrette Town with us?" CJ asked.
"There's a Pokémon Showcase I'm performing in and then afterwards we'll be going to Cyllage City so CJ can challenge the Gym." Alex explained.
