"A table sounds so fancy after eating on the streets and from scraps and garbage..." Agathe chuckled as she followed the sound of her voice to the table. As she walked she kept her foot extended for a brief moment longer than usual so she could find things in her way.

Sasha pulled out a chair for What he after setting down her bowl. "Yeah? Then allow me to make it even fancier. I can help push in your chair for you. Someone ought to use them. I haven't in a few years. I knew better then to try. Would Shaye and his friends like to sit on the chair backs?"

Agathe giggled as she sat down, her bowl on the table so it wouldn't spill. "Thank you good lady, and as for Shaye and his friends, I will have to ask him. Shaye, Sasha has invited you and your fellows to come down and sit on the backs of the chairs. It's up to you and them if you'd like to, but you should make sure that they will keep their manners, though I know you'll keep yours." Shaye cocked his head and let out a caw before flying around the corner and up the stairs to talk to his friends. "He'll be back in a little bit he says." Agathe relayed for Sasha. "I have to say, the soup smells amazing..."

"Sounds good to me. I wonder if he has a family...it'd be adorable to meet any little chicks he might have. As for the soup, I am glad you approve. I think you'll like it. It is my mama's recipe. I wish she had gotten to be a true chief like she wanted to be. She would have had her pick of households!" Sasha said, settling herself down and pickibg up her spoon. "Oh! I forgot napkins. I'll go grab them."

"It would be very adorable." Agathe chuckled as she picked up her own spoon, trying to decide if she could make that work without making it look like she was making that decision. "Okay. Hmm, you know, I don't think he does have a nest... I would think that if he did, he'd spend his time with them instead of us." A caw was heard before a flutter of wings brought Shaye down to land on the back of Agathe's chair. A few more flutters and various squawks brought the other birds, one large eagle, one owl, and three other hawks. "Oh my, I guess you do have a few friends, all lovely, but not quite as much as you. That is good. It's my pleasure to meet you all." With that comment there were several replies, all friendly, as is custom among proud birds to honor the one who invited the others.

Sasha grinned looking over the beautiful birds before them. Her gaze fluttered over the own, squeezing her heart for a moment. But just because he or she was an owl did not make them Athena's owl. She was not holding that against someone. It was like calling her a monster for being what she was. She bowed her head to each in turn. "Oh! I just realized I invited them and there isn't really enough meat to go around. They are welcome to the stew and any of the left overs. I might have some jerky stored but I think I ate the last of it yesterday. Should I go check? See if there is anything I can whip up for them?" Sasha asked, half rising to go do just that.

Agathe tilted her head as the owl hooted, and then each of the other birds made their respective noises. "Actually Sasha, they have something for you. It seems Shaye had told them that it was you who had invited them through him, so they have a gift for you." All the birds flew off, with the exception of Shaye, who puffed out his feathers when Agathe praised him for being honorable. They returned quickly, as they had stashed the gifts nearby. The eagle brought a large fish from further out than Sasha could reach with a fishing rod. One of the hawks brought a good sized rodent, and the other two set on the table a rabbit each. The owl however, set on the table a necklace that belonged to one of the priestesses.

Sasha stared at the food in awe. "I...I-I...thank you," she whispered, tears sparkling in her eyes. She recognized the necklace. It had been her great grandmothers. One that had been passed down until Sasha had lost it when she was little. "Oh...I can't even begin to tell you how much this all means to me. Please, let me cut up something here for you all. That way you can dine with us. And we can break bread as it is called. Among friends!"

Agathe relayed the message quickly, and the birds all made a reply at once. "They all say, in their own ways, that you're welcome, and they thank you for your generosity and hospitality." She smiled and took a breath wondering what had been given, but she didn't dare ask. The birds could take offence, and she didn't want to ask Sasha since she seemed a little overwhelmed if not a little upset, but in a good way.

Sasha smiled, picking up the fish. It would make a feast for the birds of pray, she figured. The rest she was going to put in the cold box to keep until she could get them cut up and either restored or turned to jerky. "I can give you all the pieces we don't eat as well. Like some of the innards. This necklace...it was my great-grandma's. I lost it when I was a child. Oh, my mother was so upset that day. I am sure she is smiling down on us, knowing that it has been found." Getting up, she went to store the meat and grab plates. Cutting the fish, Sasha set the cut price a in front if each bird on plates. "Please, don't worry about making a mess or anything. You all can just eat as you would outside. Just because we are at a table doesn't mean you have to change. Agathe? Would it be easier to sip the soup for you?"

Agathe nodded as she understood the change in emotion. "Sasha just said you could have all of the pieces we don't plan to eat, but that is simply because we're not high avia, as you all are." In escense she explained that because she and Sasha aren't birds, they wouldn't eat the guts, without being derogatory towards their friends. She then continued and explained what Sasha had said about eating at the table as though they were outside. They all looked at the gorgon and made their respective noises before they hopped next to the plates in front of them and promptly stepped on the food morsels and pulled parts off with their beaks. Like normal. "Yes, it would. Thank you. Don't worry, I don't slurp." Agathe chuckled, relieved that she was excused from having to try and struggle with the spoon. She set the utensil aside and picked up the bowl to take a sip. "That's... That's the best thing I've ever eaten..."

Sasha laughed at the slurping comment. "Feel free to slurp, I'd it should please you! This is lovely! And I am glad you enjoy to. You are welcome to as much as you'd like. Thank you. For translating for me," she added, sipping at her own soup slowly.

"I mean, translating is the least I can do." Agathe chuckled and took another sip of the soup. "In all seriousness, I don't think I'll have room for another bowl. I don't remember the last time I had this much to eat..." She only hoped that she'd be able to finish what she was given.

Sasha's heart hurt at that. "Well, if for no other reason, I am glad you are hear so that you never have to worry about not having enough to eat again."

Agathe wasn't exactly sure what to say in reply to that one. After a moment of silence she finally replied. "Well, I'm happy to be here to be with you." She realized that came out weirder than she had thought it would. "T-to keep you company..."

"I enjoy your company a lot more then having someone else here to do chores with. I feel bad. So far, you have done nothing but help me complete chores," Sasha confessed. "I am hoping we can do some stuff tomorrow that is more fun."

"Are you kidding? Everything we did today was fun. More fun than I've had in a long time." Agathe had sat up straighter in her chair to make sure that her point was made clear. She was happy that the comment wasn't taken the wrong way. Well, she did find Sasha very nice to be around, her scales did feel nice, and she gave very good hugs. At least in her opinion

"You're sure? You have been having fun?" Sasha asked worriedly. "Because we can sit in the meadow. The sun warming us. We could go to the tide pools and enjoy the water. There are...well, not a ton of things to do but enough to keep us occupied, that is for sure."

"I'm sure." Agathe smiled and nodded. "All of that sounds amazing, but I have to say I have been having fun," She paused as a few memories resurfaced. "More fun than I've ever had..." She shook her head and looked up at Sasha. "I just want you to no worry about trying to entertain me... Even if I'm just listening to you talk..."

Sasha relaxed, very glad to hear that. "Thank you. That means a lot," she said softly. Sighing happily, she returned to finishing her soup. Suddenly, a loud, bosterious voice boomed through the temple. The male voice carried across the entire island. "Daughter! I've come to meet you!" The footsteps echoed through the halls as a Poseidon made his way into the room. He had broad shoulders and was dressed with just a high quality cloth wrapped at his waist. He was grinning, not that Sasha could see. She had closed her eyes, squeezed them shut as tears rose to the surface. Her snake hair thrashed and writhed around her head, clearly angered and agitated. She couldn't even speak, despite trying. "Will you not come here and give your father a hug?" Poseidon asked, chuckling. Finding her voice, Sasha shook her head, slapping her empty bowl off of the table as she rose to her full height, tail flickering angrily beneath her. "No! I am not your daughter! I am not your great granddaughter! You are nothing! You are a monster! Leave my island! Leave my home!" "Me? I am a god, child. And not one boasting snake features," he replied dryly, looking annoyed by her reaction. "...then my Medusa is long dead...I had hoped to see her again. You look just like her. No matter. I am here now. Great granddaughter, you say? Well, I am still happy to meet you." Sasha's jaw dropped, wiping away her tears as she struggled to regain her composure. Her eyes remained closed and her head facing the floor. The world had teased her. Things had just gotten better, she was happy. But that only meant a higher height to fall from back into depression.
