Troye sighed. He really wasn't going to get anywhere was he? He
managed to sit up and put a hand to his head because the room
started to spin. He glanced down at his leg, which was the real
problem. He casually put his hand over the spot that was bleeding,
making sure Lise didn't notice. She didn't, and she handed hima
water bottle. He smiled a bit and drank a little, saving the rest
for later. Stupid Walkers... Lise sat cross legged next to Troye,
thinking about the layout of the forest. They needed a shortcut to
the city. If there was one.
"Don't worry about us. We'll leave as soon as the hoard goes. We
won't stay long. Unless, of course, someone needs medical
assistance. Then Gem and I will stay." Trixie said.
Gem smiled and took the water from the boy. She began to drink the
water.
Fae heard the arguments down below and hit the top of the roof to
shut them up. She pulled hew bow.out and self made arrows and shot
a nearby walker. Jumping off the roof and headed inside. "If you
keep being loud like that itll only spawn more walkers." She said
as she pulled out some protein bars to snack on.
"Either we set up defenses here or we find a better place to go and
make our home." She said matter of factly.
Maria sighed at Gem and Trixie. "You guys can stay as long as
needed. We have plenty of bedrooms and such. It's cool." She said,
calming down a bit. She supposed more people would be good for the
soul. She turned to look at Fae, and cocked her head. "We've lived
here for..." She looked at Oliver, who was sitting on the counter.
"How long have we lived here?" She asked. He blinked, and held up 1
finger. "One year." She said, turning back to Fae. "I suggest we
just stay here and set up some defenses." She said, looking at the
girl warily.
Fae scratched her head but nodded to Maria. "By the way my name is
Fae." She said as she turned around to go make a strong perimeter
around the house she noticed not far off was a barred closed
basement door. She started toward the junkyard that wasnt far off
where she could steal the razorwire and use it for defense.
Alexander soon got up and stretched after he closed and put the
mouse cage away, standing at just about six feet in height, looked
at Maria and stuffed his hand into his pocket.
''since we're making introductions, at least i think... my name is
Alexander Kai, but just call me Alex if you wish... as for my
companion, her name is Flurry'' he said, putting his arm up as
Fluffy flew up and landed on his arm, already finished with her
meal and had preened her feather's.
"I'm Maria." Maria introduced with a warm smile. "And my little
companion back there is Oliver." She said, pointing to Oliver with
her finger. Oliver looked up from fiddling with his fingers, and
waved a bit. He gave a small smile, feeling a bit awkward as he
looked at the other people.
Troye managed a faint smile. "I'm..Troye. Nice to... meet you." He
said. Lise sighed. "I'm Lise. Lise Leroy." She said. She looked at
Flurry. "She's pretty." She said quietly. Troye nodded. One of his
sister's had had an owl at one point, but it flew away. She had
cried for days after. Troye just chuckled lightly at the memory.
Lise glanced at him, but she wasn't as worried as before. He seemed
a bit better than before.
Heading back with arms full of cans and razorwire Fae started to
build a perimeter of defense. She quietly thought of the others. "I
hope i can trust them..."
Once she made a 2 block perimeter and was satisfied she walked back
to the house and walked inside.
Trixie didn't introduce herself, but smiled. She had bad
experiences with introducing herself in the past. "Is anyone hurt
or injured?" She asked, eyeing everyone calmly.
Lise began to raise her hand for Troye but he stopped her. "I'm
fine..." He said but she shook her head. "Over here." She said
quietly. Troye shook his head. He didn't want to inconvinience
anyone. Plus, he was beginning to suspect that the "cut" on his leg
might be something else...
Jacob looked over and smiled.
''i raised her from an owlet, way before this zombie outbreak took
over, i even breed the mice i feed her so they aren't contaminated
like the actual wild mice'' he said.
soon there was a soft tapping as Alice stood at the sliding door on
the back of the house, having her her weapons aside to show she
meant no harm in hope's they'd allow her inside, occasionally
glancing around due to being paranoid.
Trixie nodded and came over to the boy and girl that she learned
were called Troye and Lise. She stood next to them. "Can he show me
his wound?" She asked, her tone turning serious. She hoped that the
rifle in the holster on her back wouldn't alarm anyone.
Lise smiled. "That's sweet of you, to care so much." She said. It
was amazing he could do so given the circumstances. Troye
immediately paled again when Trixie asked. "I um..." Troye mumbled.
Lise's eyes narrowed. "Troye... you didn't get bitten did you?" She
asked slowly. Troye bit his lip. "I don't know. That's what I tried
to tell you." He said, pulled up his pants a bit to reveal the
wound. It was pretty hard to tell if there were teeth marks there.
"The Walker grabbed me and I think he bit me around the top of my
boot, and I'm not sure if he got through it or not." He said sadly.
Fae heard the rattle of one of her traps. "Walker." She said as she
went out to see what was going on. Walking out the door she had her
bow ready. She krept closer to the east wing of her trap to find a
beautiful dog eating the reminents of a can she placed. She set her
bow down and slowly approched the bigger black dog. "Hello there
cutie," she cooed to the dog taking out the last bits of her
jerky.
"Do you want a treat?" She asked with her hand out to the dog which
looked beyond skinny.
Its tail slowly wagged with curiousity and excitment. It jumped
over the wire and slowly approched. She knew it wasnt a wolf by its
behavior.
(Its a black tamaskan dog)
Alex stared at the wound on Troye as he listened to what he said
and blinked.
''dude if that's a walker bite your screwed....'' he muttered
rather bluntly.
Flurry simply preened her feather's, not finding interest in what
they were doing.
Alice perked up as she heard the noise away from the house but just
remained silent, still tapping on the glass door.
The dog ate the jerky happily and greedily. Fae smiled warmly at
the dog and started to walk away feeling acomplished for helping
it. Almost home though she noticed it followed her silently. She
showed her hands, " I have no more food." She said but the dog
looked confused at her then licked her hand.
"Do you wanna stay?" She asked and it wagged its tail.
"Fine you may be of use in case of walkers."
She headed back to the door and stood in the doorway.
"False alarm."
Troye chuckled lightly. "I know," He said. He turned to Lise. "You
have to promise me something." He said quietly. She shook her head.
"If it really is a bite, the second you find out you have to shoot
me right here." He said quietly, tapping his head. He turned to
everyone else. "And if she doesn't, one of you do it. Please." He
said.
"Ill do it." Said Fae flatly.
"Once youre not human it wont be hard."
The dog walked into the room sniffing everyone curiously.
"Oh and I found a dog."
Trixie carefully examined the wound. "Hmm, it's hard to tell what
kind of wound it is. I'm sorry. It would be good to just, I don't
know, tie him up somewhere, just for the night. If he was bitten,
by the morning he should have turned. If he hasn't turned by the
morning, then obviously we can untie him." She said.
