My suggestion for one way to improve using the daycare is to connect it to the alarm clock feature. We already get helpful notifications from the daycare man himself as to when there are eggs available to claim. However, when we fill the daycare man's wallet with a large sum of pd in our daycare balance, we have no clue when it runs out. Nothing alerts us of a low or 0 balance. If we forget to check it daily because it's simply out of sight and out of mind, our balance will run to zero and we'll be waiting on eggs that will never come.

For example, I'm currently chaining Mewtwo, a pokemon who does not like laying eggs to say the least. I keep a balance of 5,000 pd and fill it up when I see it get lower after a day or two (when I remember to check). So far it was working good. Then I guess I forgot for over two days, because today there was 0. Ooops. My slim chances for an egg had fallen to no chance due to a lack of reminder. If this were any other pokemon, a possible notification for an egg or two that had appeared before the lack of balance would have brought me to the daycare. Unfortunately, this isn't helpful with a difficult breeder such as Mewtwo and other rare pokemon.

So, my idea for a possible improvement to the daycare system would be to simply add the daycare to the list of uses for the alarm clock feature. For those reading this who don't know about it, the alarm clock is an item you can buy in the town shop which currently has only two alerts which can be set in misc. settings. The first is a reminder to go to the honey tree. The second is a reminder to set up a wonder trade. Why not add an alert to remind you to refill your daycare balance? The alarm clock is a key item, but how "key" is it when it only has 2 uses? Adding an alarm for the daycare not only improves the usefulness of the alarm clock item, but provides a notification that is needed and currently absent.

Um. Unless this has changed - which I highly doubt because I don't see reason for it to be taken away - there is such a reminder. When your balance is 0, you'll get a notification saying something about your deposit being depleted. I sadly can't give you a screenshot right now because it has been months (if not years) for it to happen to me, but I just searched the forum and found this. As you can see, Nishinoya copy&pasted the notification message one's given upon running out of credit.

So maybe you just happened to miss the message/notification? o:

You're right that message does seem familiar, I think I have gotten it in the past. But I just double checked and I don't see that notification in my feed...is it possible the notification failed or disappears after a certain amount of hours? It seems that the alarm clock idea wouldn't hurt either way, but I wonder why the notification failed :/

Have you deposited money (after noticing the balance was 0) again? Because if I'm not mistaken, the message disappears as soon as you pay into the daycare again. I'm not 100% sure here, though.

I do not think there is a notification, or if there is, it is broken/disabled/no longer works. I have seen many people say "Wasn't there supposed to be a notice? I didn't see anything in my feeds" They even say they remember getting notifications in the past, but all of those people say it has been weeks, if not months, since they had gotten a single message.

Personally, I don't think people need a message letting them know they are out of money. Considering the fact that the funds are located above the eggs, you should notice it every time you grab a new egg.

The notification stopped working a few months ago I believe (I wouldn't know when since my balance is always kept between 20k and 70k)

I want to say it was between the addition of the new PM system and the Alolan Starters being added, but I don't really remember when it stopped working

(one of those days when the server was down all day maybe???)

If you can read this, you know how to read.

I just purposely let my DayCare funds deplete (good thing I increase on a daily basis) and I can confirm that I received no notification about it.
I tried loading older notifications, to see if an 'older' one would've become visible again, but after going back 2 months no results.

(Does that mean someone should make a bug report?)

@Liirah I did deposit more money before checking so it's a definite possibility.

@CatLady I made a bug report in the forums stating how multiple people are having this problem with a link to your bug confirmation post here, so hopefully this bug can be fixed soon :D
