Tall Grass - no more egg obtain fails
Forum-Index → Suggestions → Tall Grass - no more egg obtain failsIf you click on the right grass spot and have a full party you fail to obtain the egg due to your full party.
What could be changed:
You still "fail" to obtain the egg immediately similar to Daycare but the egg is "on hold". So you can go to your party make a free spot go back to the tall grass and obtain the egg. Of course in the meanwhile you can't search for new eggs.
Time to get your egg: 5 minutes
Also the egg is considered "already taken" and won't show up in the list you search for your Pkmn you want to search.
(Coding-wise it's like you adopted the egg but if you can't make it in time it goes back to the Tall Grass like the eggs from Daycare.)
Why it should be changed:
For higher rarities it's difficult enough to even obtain an egg. Why do a user have to suffer if he forgot that his party is full? After Wondertrades it's even more likelier to forget about this.
Why it shouldn't be implemented:
I don't know. It shouldn't be too complicated to code this and I think the way it is now is more like a punishment for the forgetful people.
No time was mentioned for how long an egg could be on hold. It could be "as long as you want" or 24 hours. I'd prefer latter since it's similar to Daycare. But it could also be just a few minutes so you really have to clear a spot on your party and adopt immediately.
If an egg was being held, would it still show up in the tall grass as available? Or would it be considered "already taken" and not show up on the list?
I can't tell you how many times an auction or someone else accepting an offer on their trade has messed me up with obtaining an egg from the tall grass.
It wouldn't be so bad if it was an easy rarity, but this usually happens on the hard rarity searches >.<
Plus, when doing the legendary search, it's really annoying to stash an egg/pokemon, JUST to search. Being able to not lose the egg if you forget one time would be lovely.
It has the potential to be helpful, but what about those citing slow internet speeds or the like? Five minutes can mean a lot to someone who has an internet that lags often.
If anything, it's probably safer to simply remove an egg/Pokemon from your party before heading to the Tall Grass and making that a regular habit. -- Though this would not solve the auction-won Pokémon, other than to check and see if your auction would be won soon-ish or not.
