He slipped on his glasses and realized he had been too tired to take off his clothes. He sighed, looking under his bed. They gave each experiment 7 pairs of clothes, one for each day. Considering it was Monday, beginning of testing week, he pulled out his Monday outfit. He stood, scampering to occupy the bathroom before the others. He slid off his former outfit, a pink sundress, and tossed it into the hamper in the corner. He reached over to lock the door after he realized he hadn't. He slid on his Monday outfit, shifting. The outfit was a pastel pink turtle neck sweater, pastel pink tights, black skirt, and black flats. He grabbed the hairbrush on the counter that said "Oliver", brushing his hair out. He poured mouthwash into his mouth. He smashed it around, spitting it into the sink. He huffed, batting at his lips with the back of his hand. He exited the bathroom, heading to his bed. He sat down, staring at his hands.
Mavet rolled around in her bed, slowly waking up. She looked up to see the bathroom door shut and the light on. She smiled. She pulled out her own Monday outfit, and set it on the bed next to her. She waited until Oliver exited, and entered. She changed quickly, into the outfit. It was a white crop top and ripped shorts to her knees. She brushed her hair and used mouthwash, exiting. She had taken a shorter amount of time than Oliver, but she was just quick to do things.
Greyson had fought to stay awake, taking notes as he was told. He let out a soft yawn, popping his back. "S-sorry." He murmured, rubbing his eye.
Will then walked into the bathroom, changing into a different pair of jeans, a green t-shirt and sneakers. He combed his hair and brushed his teeth, then exited.
Robin blinked open her eyes to find out that she had fallen asleep on the desk. She stiffened, feeling that her headband that hid her cat ears had gotten slightly out of place. She quickly adjusted it to make sure her cat ears were hidden, then rubbed her eyes. "What a hypocrite I am, making sure you didn't fall asleep but falling asleep myself." She said, adding a forced laugh to the end of her sentence.
Oliver felt himself feel numb almost. Weekends were practically heaven. Testing weeks were horrible. He didn't know he was crying until he saw drips of water on his wrists and lower arm. He wiped his eyes. Needles terrified him. He never got used to them. It seemed that the testing made it worse. He shivered.
Gem began to shiver. She put her book down, knowing that she couldn't continue to read with shaky hands. She curled up into a ball on the bed and relaxed her wings at her sides. She hated testing, mostly because the scientists teased her a bit for being a bookworm. Multiple times. She knew she was probably being a baby. Or owlet. She sighed. There have been times when she started using owl terminology and had to correct herself. She hated that trait. She didn't realize that tears began to fall down her cheeks.
Oliver looked up and around at the others. Most were asleep, he supposed. He noticed Gem, and saw her crying. He stood, walking and kneeling next to her. "You okay?" He asked, his own voice wavering. He swallowed hard.
Mavet say on her bed, staring off into space. She always blanked out before testing. Something to do with trauma or somethin'. She sighed.
Gem looked up and realized she was crying. She rubbed her tears away and looked at Oliver. "Yeah, I'm okay, but you look like you've been crying more than me." She said in a tone, trying to sound strong but her voice sounding squeakier than normal.
Grey shrugged. "Cats are cute. Can't go wrong with cute." He quipped, shifting in his chair. He smiled lazily, rotating his shoulder joint. "I hear there working on a new few experiments. They added the animal genes to a teenager, seeing if it would be different. The experiments are gonna start living with the others soon, apparently."
Mavet just kept gazing into space. She looked relaxed.
Robin glanced towards the screen, and saw the catastrophe of crying and arguments. "What the... What even happened?" She said. "Are you serious?" She added under her breath.
Greyson glanced over, and his eyes widened. He sighed. "Gosh... Um, they do this a lot. Their species differences keep them from getting along."
Robin shook her head. "That is so stupid. I thought they would at least try to get along by now, despite their species differences." She said.
Robin shrugged. "Yeah, I guess so." She replied. Luckily, I was tested on way before this batch. I've learned to live with my traits. Maybe that's because not much cat traits were injected into me? Eh, the scientist who experimented on me is long dead anyways. The only way someone would know I was experimented on was looking deep, deep into the experiment history. Which no one has ever done. And I'm really grateful for that. I don't want to lose this great job. She thought.
