There's a lab owned by the Canadian ((I just chose a country agh)) government that is working on animal and human fusions. They have a few, but most die from tragic birth defects. Few live. They are the embodiment of Test Tube Babies. In fact, they are created in very large testing tubes. They live in a lab where they are constantly tested on to see how they react to things, what specific genes they took up, and much more. Needles are scattered across the labs.
All of them live in a very large room with beds around the walls. There is a bathroom leading off of the room, and the doors are almost always locked to get out of the sleeping room. They are terrified of the scientists, but rightfully so. They are only let out to be experimented on. Dinner is inside the room. One barred window. Outside the lab it is bright and nice. Inside the lab it is hell.

Robin, with her covered hybrid parts, continued to work as a scientist. She watched the hybrids closely from a camera.

She sang to him, as the book said it was a lullaby. The song had been sung before, and Oliver hummed to the familiar music. Oliver, who had read the book before, finished the phrase.

He sang sweetly, voice like honey. Mavet smiled.
