she smiled and hugged her teddy bear, giggling quietly as she started to warm up to Silver.
Mango looked down at June and he smiled, his gaze softening.
''do you mind helping me carry some of the groceries i bought...? it'd really be appreciated'' he said, looking back up at Silver.

Silver perked up, a bit ashamed that she hadn't offered to help before. "Of course," she said lightly, taking about half the groceries in her own hands. She looked up at Mango, who was considerably taller than her (Silver was shorter than most people, anyways), and grinned. "So where should we take these?"

Jack set the fork and knife down, the weight of the knife lingering in his hand. He had used kitchen utensils as weapons for so many years that it was strange to use them for their actual purpose. That's not a good thing, he thought to himself, remembering all the fights he'd taken part in on the streets. He had never liked fighting.
He looked over at Crystal, who had finished her food, and glanced towards the empty bar. "We can just leave the plates here," he noted out loud, "Augustus'll take em... You ready to go?"

''obviously the orphanage, i work there so i help with whatever is needed, meaning i do some cleaning, repairs, shopping, and helping keep an eye on the little ones'' he said.
Mango grabbed what he could while leaving one hand free and gently grabbed June's hand, keeping a good grip on her hand without hurting her but still having the ability to keep her close.

Crystal perked up, snapping out of her dazed trance since she had finished eating and blinked.
''u-um.. y-yeah, i'm ready'' she said, a bit embarrassed.
the pancakes were more filling than i thought they would be... that's the most i've ever eaten in a good while she thought.

Silver simply nodded, not saying a word. Rather, she thought of the street that the orphanage was on. They had never assigned a specific guard to patrol that exact street but Silver passed it sometimes during the night and it seemed that it lacked more of the major danger that the Central Plaza held. The occasional night monster, but nothing too serious. She weaved past an old woman and her granddaughter, keeping her balance and poise well with a flick of her tail.

"Alright," he said, not understanding the embarrassment that was written across her face. He didn't ask. Jack poked his head over the counter, yelling a vague "see you later" at Augustus. He decided that telling him about his crimes with Crystal wasn't the best idea.
He stuffed his hands in his pockets, his tail swishing happily as he stepped out of the restaurant, holding the door open for Crystal.

Mango kept up well, as well as June, as they hurried along back to the orphanage and Mango hummed cheerfully, making sure to keep June calm since they were having to weave around other people, and the little girl hated crowds.

Crystal collected up her stuff and quickly hurried after Jack.
''i-i sorta became dazed there for a moment.... those pancakes were more filling then i thought they'd be, now i just wanna sleep...'' she muttered.

"Oh, hello!" Silver mewled, his ears perking up at the sight of the large man that had greeted her. He was a seven-foot (ish) snow leopard with a scar down his left eye, a fellow comrade. Her tail waved as she made her way past the final bits of the crowd and into a much more quiet place. She slowed her pace so that she could walk next to Mango and the children, beaming.

Jack only shrugged, "We're not in a hurry and, to be honest, we didn't plan this out too well. You could doze off in one of your safe spots, and I could go around getting foods and whatnot. It works both ways, don't you think?" His eyes flickered around the streets, which were much more crowded than they had been before the two had entered the tavern. They laid on the mob of guards that were jogging across the sidewalks in a morning routine. Jack silently drew closer to Crystal's side, his gaze averting.

Mango glanced at Silver and smiled, blushing very faintly at the sight of her beaming.
she's actually quite charming and easy to talk too when she opens up.... whether it's an act or not, i still find her rather cute.... he thought, returning his gaze on the path ahead of them.

Silver noticed Mango's blush and assumed that it was out of fatigue, or because of the heat. Embarrassment, perhaps?... he had nothing to be embarrassed about. "The weather's been intense lately, hasn't it?" She said, drawing the conclusion that it was the heat.

he tensed up and flicked his tail, a bit embarrassed that he never realized he was blushing.

Silver nodded but was mildly confused on what he said--it was summer, after all. She only shrugged, hiking up one of the grocery bags with her knees as she neared the orphanage. She slowed her pace as she came near the stairs, letting Mango go first so that she (being a stranger) didn't have to knock or anything.

he went up ahead easily lifting June up the steps by one arm, which made her giggle a little from the ride, and used his tail to open the door, letting June go in first and helped Leon climb down and let him run in as well, then held the door open after he walked in.
''come along, the children won't bite, and neither will little old Petunia'' Mango said, chuckling a little as he purred softly.

Silver rolled her eyes playfully, fighting back a smile and walking into the orphanage. She had only been inside of the orphanage a few times but not enough to stop her from looking around once she entered. She quickly thanked Mango for opening the door and looked around for a place to set the groceries.

Mango motioned for her to follow as he headed for the kitchen, swaying his tail a bit as he walked.
once he disappeared into the kitchen he sat stuff down onto the counter and started putting away some of the things he bought into the cabinets.

She followed him, looking around the rooms curiously. Not quite sure where to go, Silver carefully began to put the few bags on the counter.

"O-oh! Right," Silver said, perking up a bit. The same way she did when she was on the job. She pursed her lips and began to tediously dig through the bags as if she were going to mess up such a simple task. She was never too good at housework--after all, her strong suit was combat--and she was always paranoid that she would mess up. It got even worse when she had to do non-fighting related chores for other people. She silently put the frozen meat in the meat drawer.

''don't act so tense, just relax.... think of it as like helping your mother putting groceries away'' he said, lightly patting her on the head for reassurance.

Silver laughed politely, drawing away from him so that he could only brush against her head. She stored the last of the groceries away, taking the bags in her arms and pausing. "Do you guys keep the bags?" She asked, her tail swishing.

''they're used as trash bags for the smaller trash can's in the bathrooms, the plastic one's anyway, the paper bags we use to store lightweight stuff, the reusable and washable one's we use on certain occasions, for like veggies or fruit, easier to carry them in that kind of bag for example'' he said.
