Silver walked calmly across the streets, seeing an orange-colored
cat in the distance. She quite vaguely recognized him, but wasn't
sure if she was mistaken.
Mango was standing at one of the stands along the street talking to
the merchant while having a child standing beside him hugging a
teddy bear and one sitting on his shoulder's hugging his head, the
children with him having the same traits and both fur and hair
color as the other.
he reached into his sleeve and pulled out a small pouch, opening it
up and handing the merchant a good little bit of the money he had
to be able to buy a few thing's.
Silver glanced at him quickly as she slowly strode by, still not
quite sure where she had remembered him from. He's not in the
Force, that's for sure, she thought, sure she would remember if
that was the case. She had always had poor facial recognition
skills. The she-cat contemplated speaking to him, her tail
twitching back and forth un-rhythmically.
his ear's twitched and looked over after he had grabbed the bag
from the merchant, smiling a little.
''we just seem to keep running into each other don't we ma'am?'' he
said, the children looking at Silver rather cautiously.
Silver turned, her glossed lips upturning into a friendly smile.
She was only mildly surprised that he had called out, and it was at
that exact moment that she remember who he was. "We do, don't we?"
She said lightheartedly, waving politely at the children that
surrounded him. "Hello," she said, her milky brown eyes glimmering.
the one beside him, a young girl with short blondish orange hair
with matching colored ear's and fluffy tail and a bit of bandaging
over one eye, hugged her teddy bear and hid behind Mango a bit,
pinning her ear's back.
Mango looked down at the girl and sighed, gently petting her head
reassuringly.
''she's rather shy and wary with strangers... usually glued to my
side when she want's to come....'' he mumbled softly.
the child on his shoulder's, a young boy about the same age as the
young girl with more raven black hair with matching ear's and sleek
tail and even darker leopard spot's smiled and waved back at
Silver.
Silver laughed softly, a wispy laugh that was barely audible. She
hated that about herself--she had to have a semi-rash and bold
demeanor as a guard, but her laugh had always set people off.
"That's perfectly okay. What're your names?" She asked, mainly
directly towards the children that answered.
''my name's Leon!'' the young boy said cheerfully, smiling brightly
as he swayed his tail.
Mango looked up at Leon and smiled, then looked down at the young
girl hiding behind him.
''it's alright kitten... she won't hurt ya..'' he said with a
soothing purr that rumbled in his throat.
the young girl looked up at him then looked at Silver, still a bit
wary.
''J-June..'' she mumbled, loud enough for her to hear.
"Well, it's nice to meet you both," Silver smiled, the pointed tips
of her canines showing. She then looked up at Mango, tightening her
hairband out of habit. "Are they yours?" She asked politely.
''they're actually orphans.... i work at an orphanage nearby and
help with anything that may need done as well as help take care of
the children there'' he said.
"Oh, the one near that old police station?" Silver asked, pointing
in the direction of the orphanage. "That's a rather nice one. The
old lady that runs it is rather sweet."
he smiled and nodded.
''that's the one, it's a wonderful job to have cause i get to see
the children and help miss Petunia out... i may not get a high pay
either, but i truthfully don't care about that, the only thing i
really care about is helping her out and help take care of the
little one's..'' Mango purred softly.
Leon giggled and grinned widely.
''your very pretty miss, do you plan to marry mister Mango?'' he
asked in pure innocence, since he was only a child.
Mango's purr instantly ceased and his face grew a faint red as he
looked up at the child on his shoulder's.
''Leon...!'' he muttered, not angry at him, just more embarrassed
about what Leon asked Silver.
he looked down at Mango and giggled again, finding his reaction
rather funny.
Leon pouted at Silver's response and huffed, putting his chin on
Mango's head.
''this is why i usually shop alone sometimes....'' Mango sighed,
pinning his ear's back slightly.
June quietly giggled and smiled a little, seeming to open up a
little bit.
Silver laughed, once again letting her genuine laugh seep out. "I
don't mind, really," she said lightly, smiling at Mango and the
children. Her tail danced along in the air, a bit too idly.
Mango blushed faintly and lightly scratched his cheek, flicking his
tail sightly.
June hesitantly walked over and held her teddy bear up for Silver
to see.
"Who's this?" Silver asked lightly, looking at the teddy bear June
held out to her. She didn't acknowledge Mango's blush since her
attention was elsewhere.
''h-her name is Cotton.... she.. she's missing her left eye....''
June mumbled, curling her tail around herself as she looked at
Silver with her only visible eye, which was her left eye that was
visible.
