My form:
Name: Kelsey Bardsley
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heteroflexible
Weapon or Meister: Meister
Appearance: Kelsey is a short, elegant girl with pale complexion. Her light green hair is put in high ponytail with pink bow and her yellow eyes are sharp. However her face is soft and with great smile on it, all the time. She wears light grey dress that goes to her knees and has pink bows. Her short boots fit perfectly with her dress. She has one silver ring earing on both of her ears.
Personality: Kelsey is a nice person with high manners. She will never speak rude of someone behind their back and even if she has something to say about someone she will say it to their face. She isn't used to jokes or sarcasm, she also doesn't know when someone is lying to her. She will try her best tomake jokes but they turn out to be cheesy. Kelsey always plans ahead and doesn't like to find herself in situation she didn't plan out to happen. Her planning often keeps her up at night, sometimes to the point of driving other people, and herself, crazy. She is quiet most of time and doesn't really know how to approach people. However when she does meet someone, and thinks they are a good person, she will talk more. She is trustworthy and will never turn back on someone or something. Also she will always keep her promise.
Partner: Later on, Kanji
Crush: -
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Hetero
Weapon or Meister: Weapon
Appearance:
Human:
Kanji is pretty slim and short for boys his age. He has dark brown eyes, long black hair kept in a ponytail. His left ear is pierced with a star-shaped silver earring. Kanji loves to wear caps, usually wearing a dark blue one. It goes with his purple tank-top covered by his dark denim jacket. He often wears cargo style pants or capris pants.
Weapon:
His weapon is a huge rectangular hammer, with a loop on the end of the 1.5 meter handle. He can be split into two equal hammers by his center, but the loop will keep them connected. However the rope can extend as much as needed at the time.
Personality:
Kanji is quite cocky for someone who doesn't have anything to brag about. He's very hot-headed and determined. The weapon will always try his very hardest at anything he wishes to achieve, but his own personality often gets in his way. He loves to get himself into trouble, often biting off more than he can chew. His bad habit of doing first and thinking later doesn't help the matters. Kanji really active, he just can't stay still for too long, always needing something to do even if it's just ripping a tiny paper to smaller bits. However he makes up for his many flaws with his loyalty to those he trusts or admires. Too bad, Kanji has a really hard time accepting people. He also can't stand seeing animals in pain and will stand up for them, no matter against who.
Partner: Kelsey Bardsley
Crush: Nope
Other:Warning! He has a big, loud and rude mouth! Be ready for insults!! (No swearing though)
When the plane landed she continued on thinking about the city and everything she knew about it. It was way too hot for her jacket, so she took it off and packed it. She walked to the main road of Death City and looked straight up. On the end of the road was her new school. She was so excited about her new life in Death City, and everything that she planned out, that she almost run over to school immediately. Only one thought stopped her, and that was that she needed to see town first.
Kelsey walked around town, checking on her watch what time it is so she wouldn't be late for her first class. After all, she did come to town so early that she could see the city and be on time in class in seven in the morning. That's probably why she slept the whole trip to Death City. She thought about it and, before heading to class, she checked if she packed everything she had out on the plane. 'Good, everything is here. I will now proceed to class.'
When she walked over to stairs that lead to DWMA, she was surprised, but not unprepared. She did read a lot about school and she knew about stairs, so she brought extra water-bottle with her. She spent a lot of time preparing for this, from running to walking up and down any stairs she could find. It might of have seemed strange to anyone else, but to her, it was the most normal thing in the world.
It didn't take her long to walk up stairs, but she got tired. She realized she will need time to adjust to this stairs. Anyway, she was happy she made it in time and had few more minutes to see a look from the last stair she was standing on. When she turned around she was truly amazed. If she thought that she wouldn't get used to stairs than she definitely wouldn't get used to this view.
For him, the city looked just around the same as any other day. The streets weren't all that busy, only an occasional student here or over there. Or maybe that was because he picked the less crowded route to school. It took him a little longer to reach the infamous stairs, his slow pace not helping the matters. Slowly he began to climb them up - a task he had done plenty of times before, so it no longer fazed him. Kanji didn't even bother to look where he was going since his body simply moved on it's own. He was completely lost in his thoughts so he didn't notice when he reached the top of the stairs nor when he moved through the halls.
The weapon only stopped to look around when he was in front of the door he knew so well. He'd been here many times last year: he'd study here, meet up with friends or get in trouble. But this was no longer his classroom, this year he'd do all that somewhere else. Kanji sort of had mixed feelings about the whole 'walking there without noticing' thing. From one side it was a sweet gesture from the other it brought feelings of dread and gloom.
Now he went out to search for his new classroom. He did have a vague idea where it was located, so at least he knew he was headed in the right direction.
It didn't take her long to find the class, and she was early. The classroom was full of different students, many of them were sitting and some were talking to each other. It was obvious that some of them will become best friends and partners. She was standing there and thought about which of her plans would be best in this situation and, at the end, she decided to go to the place she wanted to sit in.
As she walked through the third row, to the place a little bit to right, but still in middle of the classroom, she planned to talk to some of the students there. She started her plans simple, with deciding which of students seemed most friendly, then they got more complicated with each detail she noticed about the person. At the end, her decision fell on the girl with pink hair in pigtails. She just seemed as most open for talk and Kelsey really liked her dress, so Kelsey decided that they could have things to talk about.
It isn't needed to say that it was a good day for Kelsey. Everything was going according to her plans. Her smile grew bigger when she thought about everything they might learn about that day. She thought that she was ready for anything that world had to offer.
And after all that stumbling around, he came all this way here just to fins some girl has already occupied his favorite seat. There was simply no way he'd allow that. Nope, no today, not ever. That sight had ruined his mood entirely, so he stomped to the female glaring at her all the while. It sure wasn't nice to have a fight with some random student on the very first day, it usually left a bad impression, but some things couldn't be help. After all, it was the chicks fault, she should've known better than to take his personal seat.
"I'm giving you till the count of five to get out of here."
Not only did a boy threaten her, but he was also acting very rudely. His actions made Kelsey want to tell him some rude things, but she decided that wouldn't fit her, so she looked him in eyes and started speaking.
''Excuse me, but I don't think seats can be reserved.'' She said in a polite voice. ''And I got here first.'' She stopped and looked the boy in eyes with dead seriousness. ''Meeting you wasn't in my plan, what means you acted quite rudely. I would like if you apologized.''
"Apologize? Do you even have the slightest idea whom you're talking with?!" Furious, Kanji took her by the front of her dress, easily lifting her up from the seat. It seemed both of them were pretty short, finally something in the Weapons favor, so he could lift her up enough to leave her feet dangling off the ground, "Now listen and listen good, little missy. You can be the very first or last for all I care, but that seat is mine and that's final. I think it's about time you learn that life takes a bite out of your cutesy plans, chews it up real good and spits it out in the dirt," Kanji growled at her in a low tone.
To emphasize his words, Kanji dropped the girl on the floor with the word 'dirt'.
As she watched him, she realized that he won't listen to her, and obviously won't respect her, if she doesn't show him how rough she can get. She really didn't want to do anything to the boy, after all, they just meet but, not so slowly, he showed her that he was rude and undisciplined. And as words left his mouth, she was getting more and surer that he thought he was better than her, and it made her even angrier. After all her family was successful in making weapons for generations, and even those who weren't Meisters were high ranking citizens, so there is no way that he was better than her in any way.
When he just dropped her on the floor like she was a disgusting piece of trash, she was really angry. She got up and fixed her dress, her eyes showed obvious anger. It was surprising that no one tried to stop boy, but if they didn't stop him, then no one will stop her. She slapped him, so hard that her own hand hurt. Looking at him she said: ''This is my place, find your own.'' Right now, she was so angry that she didn't even want to think about anything else, so she just sat down.
She really didn't know what will happen further on, but it seemed like luck was going in her direction because person that seemed like teacher entered. It was tall, lanky man with wild brown hair that seemed generally confused. When Kelsey looked at him better, she could see muscles and dark circles under his eyes. She read about the school and its teachers, but she never saw this professor. At the end, she came to the conclusion that he was new. Good thing that she had planned for this situation.
Actually Kanji felt a little sting in his left eye from the force, but quickly blinked it away. He clenched his hand into a fist so he wouldn't touch his painful cheek. He turned back to her at the girls snappy comment. She even dared to sit back down as if nothing happened! Now his other hand also formed a fist, this day won't end well for this bratty girl. He was so furious he didn't even notice the teacher entering the room.
"We aren't done yet. In fact, not even close to it!" Kanji barked at her, his knuckles darkening as they got covered in steel. "When I'm finished with you, you'll be in a hospital bed for months!" he bared his teeth in a grimace, the weapon's nose high in the air, while his eyes were locked on the girl comfortably sitting in his spot. The threat was heard by the whole class as it had gone quiet when the teacher came in. Too bad Kanji didn't notice maybe he would've managed to save himself some future hardships.
''I am Vance Candeles.'' Professor awkwardly said ignoring threats that were meant for Kelsey, and she did the same. He wrote his name on the board and then turned around to class. ''I am a new professor at Death Weapon Meister Academy and I will be teaching you.'' Kelsey could feel that professor didn't really plan out this introduction and if she wasn't angry at the moment, she would offer to help him make plans in future.
She hoped that professor will soon mention new studying system that they were introducing this year and she didn't have to wait long. ''Like you know, if you read everything about this school, we have new studying system. Because of unfortunate events that happened before every Weapon and Meister needs to have a partner from the first year on.'' Professor Candeles made longer pause. It was much longer than one before he said 'unfortunate'. ''Happy partner finding.'' He said with a smile that was not far from uncomfortable.
It was weird to Kelsey that professor didn't even say how will they recognize if someone if weapon or meister. She was sure that it would be weird to just go around asking people are they weapon and asking each of them if they wanted to pair up, but it seemed that she had no choice. She got up from her seat and looked at the girl sitting next to her. Making sure she is smiling and that her voice sounds nice she asked: ''Would you like to be my partner?'' Other girl muffled as an excuse and went away.
Kelsey tried for few more times and the same thing happened. It surprised her. She was really nice to all of them, so it didn't seem right that she couldn't get a partner. At the end, she decided to sit back down, disappointed.
It was Kanji's first time hearing about this new studying system, even if he had been here the previous year. He wasn't someone to care about rules and other official things, so it hardly caught his interest. He stayed frozen solid with his back to the teacher till he finally finished his boring introductional speech. When everyone buzzed back to life trying to scout out their future partner, the weapon finally allowed himself to relax. He flexed his shoulders wishing away his powers. His target had moved away in their search for a comrade, so the hard steel of his fists was no longer needed.
He crossed his hands, not really feeling the thrill of this hunt. He had been quite happy with his past partner and looking for a new one seemed like a waste of precious time. But they had moved on so Kanji would have to as well. He used his sensitive sense of smell to tell apart weapons from the meisters. It might sound as an impossible feat, but it actually wasn't that hard. Most weapons smelled just as their weapon forms of steel, wood, leather or some other similar material. Of course he didn't always get it right, some weapons had a very weak smell and there were meisters that had a lot of interactions with said material. But still, that made the hunt of a partner so much faster.
Kanji moved around the room a little, then decided to sit this one out. So far anyone he asked to pair up had rejected him without even giving a reason. Not that it really mattered to him, how could you even know right off the bat that your Soul Wavelengths were compatible? What if a rejection happened? Kanji could only grumble as he sat with his head in his hand. Then he noticed that a certain missy was having as tough a time and sent a smirk her way.
After some time of thinking, she noticed a look on her and when she turned hoping to see someone who would like to pair up, she saw him. The rude boy. He smirked at her and she smirked back. He, obviously, didn't have a plan and will hardly find a partner. She, on the other hand, she had everything planned. She will go to each of those who seemed like they didn't really know how to approach others and ask to pair up. One of them might respond. It was a perfect plan if you asked her.
She sent another smirk in way of rude boy and went on her hunt for a partner again. When she got up, she realized that only four people were left unpaired. One girl, one boy, herself and rude boy. Her eyes went wide, she needed to decide which one of other two was a weapon, and fast. At the end, she went with a boy that looked puzzled and so out of place. She knew she didn't have lots of time because other girl noticed him, too.
The boy was on almost another side of the classroom, so she had to hurry up and she did. She used her best skills to get to other side of class as fast as she could. It didn't take long for her to be in front of the boy. With a smile, she put out a hand for a handshake and said: ''Hi. My name's Kelsey. Wanna be my partner?''
It seemed that even though she was nice, the boy seemed kind of scared of her. Even though scared isn't the right word. In that moment other girl walked up and said: ''You will be my partner.'' grabbing boys hand. As they moved away Kelsey could hear faint: ''Thank you.'' from the boy.
To say that she was confused was an understatement. She went back to her seat knowing that boy was the last weapon in the room, the exception being Rude Boy. Her look strayed towards him as professor looked from whatever he was doing. He looked at the clock behind them and then towards the classroom. ''Class will soon be over.'' He stopped and looked everyone in the class. There was obvious awkwardness in his look. ''If someone didn't find a partner, please, raise a hand.''
Ashamed Kelsey raised a hand, looking down. She really hoped there are more people who didn't have a partner because right now she felt really bad. Not only that her plan didn't work, but her pride was crushed. Her only hope was that Rude Boy didn't have a partner so he couldn't rub it in her face because she felt like that is something he would do.
Out of nowhere she passed yet another smirk to him, like what gives? Why was she suddenly feeling so highly? Kanji watched her as she got up with gusto, all happy with her petty self, just to stiffen again while looking around. The weapon let out a spray of saliva as he tried to hold in a laugh, it seemed the missy only know realized how bleak her situation was. He kept analyzing her, the amusement never leaving his. She tossed around, trying to come to a quick decision, so lost, so simple. It actually surprised Kanji that she went for the actual weapon and not the other meister.
Like a predator he watched the two last meisters struggle to get the last weapon, somehow he missed the fact that the loser would end up with him, too caught up in his glee. The females rushed, avoiding other students as well as furniture in their way. Both of them sure put up a fight and somewhere inside he felt a little insulted. Clearly, he was the superior weapon; he was just stronger, but had more experience as well. Not to mention the guy looked like a coward. In the end the pompous missy won the race, being a little more athletic, maybe a little too desperate.
It seemed the cornered weapon wasn't buying her nice act, not even trying to reach for her hand. Oh, how he wished he could see the missy's face right now,how the realization slowly settled in. Yes, no one wanted to pair up with her, she'd be all alone for this year. As if on cue the other meister finally made her way to the frozen two, no longer in a hurry. She just snatched the weapon and walked away. Kanji continued to look at her as she made her way back to sit down, how she fixated the guy with a longing stare.
However Kanji's little show had to come to an end as the professor spoke up. He took his eyes off the missy to address their new teachers words. They were told to raise their hands if they were still single. At that moment it finally sank in: the two would have to pair up. The weapons eyes went wide and he quickly looked back at the last meister. No. No way would he team up with the missy. The girl would be useless with him, she was a tiny stick! In no way, shape or from was she a suited master to a weapon of his size! Kanji lowered his head to the table, folding his hands in front of him to stand out less. If anything now he wasn't as noticeable.
Obviously he didn't put up his hand, nor a single hair. Surely, it wasn't possible for everyone to find a partner in such a short time span. Getting a partner was supposed to take time, investigation and communication! Not just a single approach of 'do you want to'. If they really just went with whomever said yes first, there was no way they'd be a successful team.
''Oh, so it seems that there is only one person without a partner.'' Professor Candeles said sounding confused. ''That's weird.'' He said looking at papers. ''We have an even number of weapons and meisters in class. You should have a partner.'' He said looking up.
Kelsey was really confused. She hoped that meant that there is one student that wasn't in class today, so they could pair up later on. ' Maybe they are late.' She thought to look around class trying to count all of the students. Her mind was trying to decide if it was really good idea to pair up with someone who didn't even try to show up on time.
While she was thinking, the professor spoke up again. ''Next class will be outside. Meisters will try to wield their new weapons.'' It was obvious that he really didn't know what was happening. She wasn't really sure if she wanted to have such confused person as a professor. She knew that she needed to help professor to plan out things, after all, it's the only thing she could do right now.
Only a few seconds later words that professor said came to her mind. She didn't know what to do. ''Umm... We should all move to the backyard of school. I will count you all when you are going out of class so we are sure everyone is here.'' To Kelsey, it seemed like their professor maybe taught kids before, because counting them as they went out of class sounded like a something grade school teacher would do, but she knew that he needed help. She will offer help while others practice.
''Oh, and don't be disappointed if your Soul Waves don't match. It would be normal because you didn't really talk a lot and you will probably need to find another partner.'' When professor said what he had to say, she felt better. It was impossible for someone like her who was raised in a family of meisters to not find a partner.
She smiled as she got up and followed others as they were going out of class. New friendships were being made, she realized as she watched other students in front of her.
Everyone was starting to stand up and go out of the class as ordered. But Kanji wasn't so sure if he should follow suit. Jumping out the window felt like a great idea, skipping a lesson or two never hurt. But that could be a bit too eye-catchy and risky. He had much better chances running off after he stepped out to the hall. With that in mind, he rose from his seat, but didn't hurry to go out the door just yet.
His hate wasn't only focused on their poor choice of a professor, the missy also held a special place in his heart. he waited till the little girl walked by him and at the very last moment stuck out his foot before hers. Tripping someone over was considered childish, he knew that well. However their teacher wished to treat them as ones, so he had no trouble to act as a one.
Obviously, Kelsey wasn't paying much attention, so she tripped over something. It didn't take long till someone turned towards her, so she guessed that she made lots of noise with her fall. And just like real fall that happened, she started to feel her hope to find weapon fall. 'How could any weapon think I am worthy Meister, now that I have embarrassed myself like this?' She thought.
And it seemed like things were going south for her when the professor came running to help her. He asked her if she was alright and if she hurt herself. Removing tears of embarrassment from her eyes, she looked up at the professor, she said: ''Yes, I am fine. I am not hurt. Don't worry.'' To prove her point, she got up and tried to remove dust from her dress. Of course, there was so little dust on her that no one else would notice, but she spent more time than needed removing it.
When professor went back to his place in front of the doors, not before he said few motivational words, she looked at the place where she tripped to see what was there. There was nothing on the floor, but it didn't surprise her when she saw who was sitting there. The Rude Boy. She forgot her embarrassment and looked the boy in eyes. ''I can't believe you fell so low to do something so childish.'' Her words sounded harsh and she didn't move her eyes from his while talking to him.
Kelsey hoped that her words will get in boys head and make him sorry, but she knew better, so she turned around to exit room. As she walked, she noticed looks some pupils were sending her. She really didn't understand them, but for the first time that day she really hoped that her future partner was late. She could easily deal with someone who was late, but she couldn't deal with the fact that maybe any other Weapon will send her such looks as they were sending her now.
When she looked better, it seemed like she wasn't only one who was getting weird looks. Other person was Rude Boy. For a second she thought about having to pair up with him, but just as the thought came, it went away. It was too bizarre for her to take it seriously. So she went back to thinking that her real partner is just late.
''I can't believe you fell so low to do something so childish,'' the girl firmly stated as if Kanji honestly cared about her opinion. Kanji noticed the other students giving the two weird looks, most likely they understood whom was the real culprit, but he didn't care about that ether. "No offence, missy, but you're the only one falling around here," Kanji bit back, but the girl was already leaving the classroom.
Kanji was about to follow her lead when another weapon blocked his path. "What is up with you, picking on a poor girl like that on the first day here, too. Don't think you can get away with anything you do." Mattie, a foot taller boy with a fine figure, light brown hair and blue eyes, scolded Kanji in the professors place. He poked at Kanji's chest while speaking in a low tone. Kanji glared at the other weapon, but didn't say anything, opting to push the guy out of his way. Mattie allowed this, following Kanji's retreating back with an icy stare.
Kanji stuffed his hands in his pockets, his joy gone for now. He walked past their teacher, allowing to be counted in. However he didn't wait until the man was finished, he just kept going down the hall. The professor was busy, so slipping away wasn't a problem. The other kids saw him go by, but just like him didn't care. It's not like he had a partner he was leaving behind. The missy had already proven that she failed in all aspects of being a good meister.
Her mind was deciding on a topic to think about. Nothing seemed interesting, so she decided to wait till professor counts them all so she could talk to him. She really wanted to ask him about his previous workplace and how he got a job in DWMA. Something seemed a bit odd about him, but she didn't spend a lot of time with humans outside of her family to know what was odd.
When the professor was done counting, she went up to him. ''Excuse me, but can I ask you something, professor?'' She added professor in last moment. Somehow she almost forgot her manners. What was not usual for her. Before she could question it, professor answered her. ''Sure thing! You are...'' He trailed off and looked at student records. ''Kelsey Bardsley.'' He seemed surprised. Kelsey could only imagine what was written there. She didn't want for professor to think that girl with one of rarest Wavelengths was some kid.
''Yes, that's me!'' She said before professor could ask anything. ''But I don't want to talk about myself. I noticed that you, professor, weren't really ready for class. I could help!'' She rushed words just to avoid any awkwardness what just backfired. Professor looked at her and nodded, it was obvious that he had no idea about what he should do, so he just decided to agree. ''Yes. I wasn't ready. I thought that I will start next year, so this was quite unexpected.'' Kasley couldn't really read professors face, so she nodded. They started walking towards backyard and continued talking.
Kelsey learned that Professor Candeles was a weapon and that he never really became Death Scythe. She still didn't have time to suggest professor a certain way of teaching when they got in backyard. He stepped out and said to all students: ''Alright, it seems like there is an even number of students in class. What means that someone didn't raise their hand when I asked for those without partner. So whoever didn't raise their hand will have to stay after class tomorrow.'' He ended his speech that would be somewhat intimidating if it wasn't awkward. ''Now, you can start practicing and try to find partner based on Wavelengths.''
Professor turned to Kelsey. ''You will too, stay after class tomorrow if you don't find your partner now.'' He said with kind smile. She felt like he was a good person, but had no idea how teenagers work. ''Go and don't worry. I will write down partners after class so that one that doesn't have partner will have to stay.'' With that words, the professor turned around and she took it as a sign to go and try, again, to find partner.
Right now was a good opportunity to see what they were made of, the 'partner tryouts' was the perfect chance to show off their abilities. With that in mind, Kanji changed his direction moving up a flight of stairs. He knew the ideal place to watch the training, had been there more than once. The balcony was easy to locate, yet people, especially the ones below, hardly ever noticed its existence.
Kanji went near the decorated edge and sat down on the floor rather than leaning on the safeguard. He didn't want to get noticed in his hiding spot in case someone did look his way by accident. The gaps between the poles that made up the safeguard where wide enough for him to have a nice view of the backyard, but still be safely hidden.
Even from here he could hear the professors voice, raised so that all of the students could hear. He snorted at the promised punishment. When did detention ever fix someone? When did it have some positive fruit? Never, that's when. Did he really think that that would make him raise his hand in the future? It certainly wouldn't. Though he could use that time to suggest pairing him up with anyone that caught his eye today. Kanji was quite confident in his ability to detect the perfect partner for himself, rather than taking someones leftovers.
