Soul Eater 1x1 (Giltine13 and CheeseWolf)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Private RP → Soul Eater 1x1 (Giltine13 and CheeseWolf)With a huff, she sat down on grass. She was getting angry, so she needed to take the time to calm down. Her eyes were wandering around the backyard. It was obvious which meisters and weapons found their partners. They just seemed so happy. She remembered stories of how her parents found their partners. They described it as just knowing that other person was their partner. She always said that that's impossible and now she really believed it was impossible.
She looked at the sky and got up. She decided that, just because it wasn't like in fairytales, she won't give up. She came to DWMA for a reason and that was to follow her dream of making Death Scythe.
When she walked up to next weapon that didn't have a meister, a person could see the confidence in her walk. She put her arm out to the weapon with her eyes fixed on other girl. ''Will you please transform so I can try to wield you?'' She said not forgetting her manners. Other girl looked like she will say no, but at the end, she smiled at Kelsey. ''Alright!'' And with that, the girl transformed and took a form of a revolver. Kelsey tried to catch her in the air, but girl obviously didn't have a matching wavelength, and Kelsey almost fell on her face. In last the second girl caught Kelsey.
''Thanks!'' Kelsey said smiling at the girl. The girl smiled back. ''Even though you can't wield me I like confidence with which you approached me. I am sure you will find your weapon soon.'' With that other girl walked away and left Kelsey. Kelsey's confidence got a boost from words of other girl, so she now approached each new weapon with a smile. Even those that decided to turn her down.
At some time, she began noticing that there are no weapons left and that all other meisters found their weapon. At the same moment, she realized that she didn't see Rude Boy whole day. Or at least since they left the classroom. It was confusing, but she just thought that he already went away with his partner.
Soon, there was no one left except for her and professor. He walked up to her and said that she should go to her apartment. She just nodded and turned around. She was too tired to think about anything, so she just walked down streets that she didn't really know hoping that she will find her apartment.
Unwillingly, he noticed the missy going around and trying out weapons. Nether managed to tune in with her Soul which didn't surprise him at all. People whom were similar to each other usually never worked out, you needed opposites for a strong team. But those whom were extremely different weren't able to match with her ether. He saw the guy that had previously scolded him try his luck with the missy. He appeared to be a crossbow. But the missy couldn't hold him ether, even from here he could see the ice covering her hands where the two made contact.
But he also saw some impressive meisters. One of them didn't seem to any have trouble matching his wavelengths to weapons, except a few whom looked really gloomy. He liked that guy alongside a few others. Kanji felt his hands itch, oh how he wanted to try them out. But that wasn't for today, he didn't feel like facing the professor. The weapon also saw some students going to have their names written down as a future pair. He only hoped it still wasn't the final cut. After all, what if the students that were left wouldn't be able to match? They would need to break up someone to find a partner for all.
When Kanji had made his decision, he walked back into the main building making his way outside. Once again he didn't bother to hurry favoring the slow pace. He walked around the streets of Death city, going home through the same route he had come. But then he heard a barking dog. A few quick steps later he saw the angry dog yapping on a kitten atop a trash can in an ally. He was about to go and chase the animal away when the kitten slipped and fell right into the others mug. The cat bolted away with the dog on its tail. Without even thinking he ran after them catching the cat in his arms and running off from the persistent canine. His escape abruptly ended with a collision with a solid body. Luckily he managed to protect the kitty from any serious damage at the cost of his butt. When Kanji finally looked up at the person whom blocked his path he could only glare at the missy's face, still cradling the kitten to his chest.
She went around one corner and then another. After few more turns, she started to think that she was lost. She looked up and noticed street names. Thought that she had a solution to her problem made her giggle. She realized that day wasn't so bad. After all, she had all the ways from all the streets to come to her apartment.
Her eyes were resting for second on paper and another second on street names, so it would be easy to think that she would collide with someone. She thought it wouldn't happen because streets were empty. She was wrong, again. Because when she looked at her paper, someone crashed into her. It took her by surprize. Kelsey was frozen for few seconds, thinking about what just happened. Soon enough, she started apologizing with a big smile so she wouldn't look unfriendly. ''I am sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going! I thought that streets would be empty.''
She repeated her apology once more and put her out to help the person get up before she actually looked at the person. It stuck her by surprise who she saw in front of her. It was the Rude Boy. She couldn't believe. Her eyes were on him until she heard a small meow. Only then she noticed that he was holding a cat. Her face went from surprised to serious in a matter of seconds.
''What are you doing with that cat?'' Was all she could ask. Cats were her favorite animals because she was allergic to dogs, so she grew up having a bunch of cats as pets.
"What are you doing with that cat?" Kanji slowly lifted his eyes to meet the girls serious face that seemed keen on poking holes all over him. He let out a huff, returning the stern stare. "It is none of your business! The cat is mine." As if to prove the point Kanji stroked the cat only for it to meow in a higher pitch. Kanji's eyes widened a bit at that and he turned the cat over in his arms to get a better look.
Only then did he notice the blood stain on his shirt as well as on the cats behind thigh. The cat most likely got hurt when it dropped on top of the dog, he decided somewhere at the back of his mind. Seeing the open wound brought panic, he almost toppled over when he rushed back on his feet before breaking into a sprint for a second time. He didn't even bother to give the missy another glance.
Kanji dashed to a vets house he knew very well. He made a few hasty knocks on the door then waited till a browned haired woman open it. He didn't even have to say a word, as soon as her soft eyes landed on the animal in his grasp she let him in. She took the injured cat into the next room, leaving him to wait in the living room by himself.
When boy spoke up to her, she almost flinched. She wasn't scared of him, but he spoke with such anger that she almost felt like she should be. However, her change in the face was obvious. She tried to change it to unimpressed, but she knew that boy saw it. Or at least he would if he wasn't so interested in proving his point.
Of course, her attention got back to the cat right when it meowed. As Rude Boy was turning the cat, she noticed a crimson blood stain on his shirt and cats tight. However soon the cat was put in such position that she was unsure if she actually saw blood or her mind was playing tricks on her.
Her suspicion was soon proven right as the boy got up without looking at her and started running. She decided right away to follow him. She just had to know what he was planning to do to the poor creature. Her mind raced even faster than she did, trying to put all the blame on the Rude Boy without any proof. But what she saw was enough proof for her.
Kelsey was sure that she will lose the Rude Boy, few times when he was out of her sight. But she managed to keep up to him and follow him to one house. She didn't even look at the house, she just barged in. At the moment she didn't care about how rude it might seem to those inside, especially if she was wrong and the Rude Boy didn't enter that house.
It didn't take her long to spot him. She moved faster than ever before and looked at him with pure anger in her eyes. ''What did you do to the cat?'' She asked looking around like a maniac. ''If you hurt it... I swear to Lord Death!'' She was angry as never before and it could be seen on her face. At least until she caught a glance of herself in the mirror.
She noticed right away that she didn't look like a lady that she was. Actually, she didn't look anything like herself. She took few deep breaths and looked at the boy. At that moment her face was a lot calmer than few moments before, but anger was still obvious in her eyes.
But then the offensive female's eyes shifted a bit, staring at something behind him. That was followed by a moment of quiet and a few deep breaths. It was all the time Kanji needed to collect his bearings and when the girl turned back to him again she was met with a stone cold face and deadly eyes. After the initial shock, he no longer seemed concerned of the meister's feelings. He was very aware the girl just broke into the nice vet's house, walked around like she owned the place and dared to question him without any evidence.
Kanji stood up, still happy about the fact both of them were midgets so he had the advantage. He was nose close to the meister as he poked a finger to her chest. His words were laced with venom, low and dangerous, "Who do you think you are? Bursting into someone's house, disrupting the peace? You know that's illegal, Miss Perfect? Actually, that could be enough to get you thrown out from the Academy." A devilish smirk overtook his lips, though the suddenly found mirth didn't reach his eyes.
The threat was very real, he knew by his own skin. This could be the best chance he'll ever get to shake off the missy for good. But some higher power most likely favored the little meister girl as Kanji found himself backing out, overthinking his decision. With the same finger he poked her chest, now he pointed at the still ajar door. With a still low, but cold and stern voice he growled at her, "Get.Out."
She was sure that her face showed fear of the possibility for a brief second. Then her face showed the same kind of determination that she had before. ''Last time I checked, the rule clearly says that we are allowed to do anything to protect a creature that might be in danger. I am not sure how it looked to you, but to me, it seemed like the kitten you were carrying was hurt.'' She stated as matter of fact. ''And it might of have been your doing.'' Before she said that, she pointed finger at him the same way that he did just a few seconds ago. She really didn't want to mention her thought, but it just ended up slipping from her mouth.
She didn't move her eyes from him until she heard doors opening. She knew that weren't the same doors that she walked through, so she turned around in direction of the sound.
What she saw surprised her. It was a nice looking brown haired lady holding the injured cat whose tight was now in small bandages. Lady seemed surprized by what she saw, but before she could say anything Kelsey run up to her and looked at the cat. She was really glad that cat was alright. ''Did you help her?'' She didn't even let lady respond to her, instead, she looked at the lady with tears in eyes. ''Thank you.''
Honestly, she was a bit shocked. She wasn't really used to her emotions changing so quickly. Usually, she only had her stoic emotion and this was real emotional train for her.
"The kitten is fine," the woman answered softly, but soon confusion spread in her eyes, "May I ask who you are and what are you doing in my home?" Kanji felt so sick at her words, so sick, so sick - he couldn't handle it. Of course he knew Kaimi was always kind and gentle, but he wished she was angrier with that spoiled brat. This was unforgivable, he was shaking with animosity, the brat should pay! And then there was that bloodthirsty voice again, whispering all those cruel things to his ear, so many violent ways to end the life of another, preferably the cause of his anger.
"Kanji are you feeling alright?" the weapon didn't even notice how the brown haired woman walked over to him. Her voice startled him and he stepped back a bit, his cheeks reddening to a soft shade of pink. It seemed the woman didn't even notice, though Kanji knew better than that, and dumped the cat in his arms, "Here you go, your little kitten is all better now," she smiled with that lovely smile of hers that made Kanji's gut all warm. But he also noticed the worry in the corners of her eyes and it made him feel guilty in a heartbeat. "Now, shall you two sit down and relax. I'll go make some tea and then you can explain what happened."
Kanji nodded quietly, though he still eyed the youngest person in the room. There was no way he'd forgive her, the only thing she was gonna get the moment they are out was a fist to the that pretty face of hers. The weapon followed along with the request and sat down in the spot he had occupied earlier. He snuggled into the seat, the cat seemed somehow calmer now too. It didn't struggle and simply laid in his lap as if it spent there the whole day. He stroked the soft fur, however his eyes stayed on the missy, cold and harsh.
The moment of peacefulness ended when the woman asked her why she was there. She realized that she didn't think about it and how to explain it what almost got her panicky. But then she noticed that the woman moved on while she was thinking. She looked at the woman and noticed that she gave the cat to the Rude Boy. It made her knit her brows and think about accusation she made just a few moments ago. She was ready to ask multiple questions to the woman but woman offered her to sit down and to make her and the Rude Boy a tea. Kelsey knew that it would be rude to decline that offer. Especially because she just broke into woman's house.
At first, Kelsey eyed the couch and boy sitting on it. She noticed the look boy was sending her way and she realized that she should apologize. After all, she was wrong and it would be rude not to apologize. She went back to the couch and sat down. She looked at the cat and smiled. Even though she was full of stress, she felt glad, again, when she saw and heard the cat purring. She could feel her past calmness spread all through her soul. She put her hand out to pet a cat. She could almost see her soul Wavelength and she could bet that it would look a bit different than usual if she could see it that is.
She petted a cat but her eyes looked at the Rude Boy. All the ways she could apologize went through her mind but she decided to go with simplest. ''I am sorry for accusing you of hurting this kitten. I misjudged you.'' There was honesty in her voice. She still didn't believe Rude Boy but it didn't mean that she will just act like she didn't do something that was very rude.
However, Kanji wasn't about to forgive her that easily. He still wanted to slap her hands away and force her from the sofa, but he knew from recent experience that the missy was just as feisty as he was. So instead he took the cat and got up just to sit down again on the armchair at the left side of the table. "Apology not accepted," he said, though the weapon’s voice didn't carry as much anger as he had hoped it would. That crazy stuff from earlier really did something to him, if only he could figure out what.. The cat was rather unhappy with the move fussing around on his knees, but it quickly settled down once more.
Soon after, Kaimi ducked back in from the kitchen with a tray, three steaming cups, a tiny porcelain container and a plate full of pastries on it. Kanji knew just knew that his cup contained hot chocolate instead of the promised tea. She had a big smile, though he felt it wasn’t really necessary. Was she trying to make the missy feel comfortable? Why would she, the girl was an intruder not a guest. The weapon watched as Kaimi put each cup in front of its temporary owner, dark liquid swimming in his own proved him right, and sat down on the opposite side of him. She silently raised an eyebrow at him, questioning his choice of seating. Kanji didn’t answer her, just rolled his eyes and she moved on to regard the girl sitting in the middle. "Here's sugar if you need any," she pointed at the small container her speech as warm as her smile, “Now you can explain what happened. I’ll hear out both of you, so no interruptions till the other if finished, understood?” Kanji knew she meant both of them, yet her eyes solely focused on him. Well, he could keep his trap shut for a little bit.

The lay out of their sitting

She could feel how calmness that just seconds before pervaded throughout her whole body was now leaving. When the woman that took care of the kitty walked in, Kelsey went into her usual overthinking mode and all the calmness that was left was gone. She started thinking about all of the ways that she could explain her intruding and none of them would explain her rudeness that wasn't usual for her.
When the woman spoke up, Kelsey managed to calm down a bit and find an answer that she will tell when the woman asks. So she just waited to answer any question that woman might have. When woman finished her sentence Kelsey nodded. She knew that it would be beyond rude to interrupt anyone while speaking. Especially after what she has done.
Kanji just groaned, leaning to rest his head on the back of the armchair. This was so unnecessary, the only thing the missy deserved was a beating. He didn't bother raising his head when Kaimi spoke again, a hunch telling him it wasn't directed towards Kanji, "How about you start with your side of the story? Kanji has a tendency to blow things up out of proportion, so it would be nice to have a basic idea of how things went beforehand."
While it sounded like an insult, Kanji knew she didn't mean any harm. If anything, Kaimi seemed to enjoy his over the top stories. And there wasn't any bite in her words, so he allowed it to slip. He was much more interested in the missy's explanation, there was no way she could justify a literal breaking in. Although, a gut feeling told him the girl would get off the hook. Kaimi was too nice for her own good and it annoyed him. But he still tried to respect her wishes and focused on stroking the cat rather than voicing out his complains.
She was still thinking her options over when a nice lady, Kaimi, introduced herself. Kelsey quickly looked up from her cup of tea. She was surprised at lady still wanting to talk to her and herself looking like a lost puppy. Her mouth opened and closed. ''I am the rude one here. I ran into your house and pointed fingers. I had no other proof of...'' her sentence drifted as she looked at the rude boy and realized that she didn't know his name ''...I am sorry, I don't know your name.'' She muttered and then looked at Kaimi again. ''Like I was saying, I had no other proof of him being the one that hurt kitty beside the fact that I don't like him.''
Kelsey took in a deep breath that felt like despair whipping at her lungs. ''Anyway...'' she said cautiously ''My name is Kelsey Bardsley and I am a Meister.'' She finished with putting her hand out for a handshake. Still, she felt her mind swirling and her heart pounding. She was afraid of what will Kaimi say and if she will end up being kicked out of DWMA.
However, Kaimi didn’t look like she was taking it seriously: she laughed here and there and understandingly nodded elsewhere. By the end she made a rather outrageous conclusion – it was a simple misunderstanding. She thanked both of them for their stories and event went as far as complimenting missy her so-called ‘bravery’ in the face of another creature’s distress. Kanji didn’t get it, but he didn’t word his disdain, settling for making a grossed out face. The last thing he needed was to get on Kaimi’s bad side, which would be completely unfair, since it was the meister that wreaked havoc in her house.
Then Kaimi shared her funny experiences as a vet, most likely still trying to cheer missy up while they finished their drinks. Kanji had heard all of them before, although he still didn’t manage to stifle a laugh at the one where a guy brought in a huge pig with a stomach ache. Once they were done, Kaimi collected the dishes and only when she got back from the kitchen did she seem to realize how late it has gotten, “I am so sorry for keeping you two for so long! You probably should hurry home now; I believe you have school tomorrow, no?” She led them towards the door and gave a last pat to the small kitten, “Kanji, it would be very kind of you to walk Miss Bardsley home, don’t you think?”
Kanji rolled his eyes at that, but after staring at Kaimi for a long while
