I'm sorry before hand if this idea has already been made in the forum, but this suggestion is bugging me the most and I'm sure I'm not the only one. = u =;;

Now I know that in order to get the Pokemons' entry in the PokeDex is to have it, but when say you either trade away that said Pokemon or release it, that entry in the PokeDex is gone. Could there be a way for it so we don't have to keep the Pokemon in the boxes to have the PokeDex entry? I'm sure I'm not the only one that wants to keep buying Storage boxes.

As long as you hatched/trained the Pokemon to get the entries or its' evolution stages, as long as it would get record it should be fine to not have the Pokemon to not have the entry. This works in the Pokemon games itself, there is another Pokemon site that allow this. I just don't really see why we can't do the same (I understand that people like their own ideas and such fml).

Just another idea, support or reject. Whatever how you see it, I think it would be easier on some users to have this kind of feature in the site.

Okay first of all:
QuoteI'm sure I'm not the only one that wants to keep buying Storage boxes just to keep ALL POKEMONS.
I'm guessing you mean you're not the only one that doesn't want to keep buying new boxes? :p

But anyway, what I'm getting from this is that you don't want to spend money on new boxes. Whatever the case, I don't support. I like the system the way it is, it gives me something to work for. It's more fun this way lol

No support. I remember reading somewhere that the point of this game is to collect the pokémon and keep them to learn everything you can about them, not just to catch them for a quick analysis then release them/trade them away because you don't need them anymore.

I don't remember where I read this, but it made sense, as most of the games don't make sense to me. Why do you need to try and catch these pokemon to get their information when you can literally catch a pokemon then release it moments later, not having enough time to learn anything about it? And still the dex shows all the information on them.

Plus, it's not that hard to save up enough for the boxes if you want 1 of every species, then the boxes for the extras you want to keep. I should know, since I almost have my boxes to where I won't need to buy anymore to own all 721 pokemon where they are ordered. And it's more fun to have to have a living dex to keep your pokedex up to date.

It's a minor annoyance to lose some of the older dex entries when my Pokémon evolve before I can stop them, but it's not that huge of a deal.

I have to agree with Rave on this. It rather frustrating about this sort of matter about the Pokedex Entry. I was looking at the Pokedex, not so while back. Me looking around the pokemon's that I got at the moment. Especially at Cyndaquil. As it evoled into a Quilava. It's entry was gone! That didn't settled with me rather nicely. So I support this 110%!

(I'm not sorry. C: )

@Tina: Oops, yea that's what I meant for the boxes. Thanks for finding that mistake and now I will fix it! xD

@DemonShade: Well in the games when you saw a Pokemon without catching it, it would be shown in the PokeDex but you wouldn't have the entry. As long as you caught said Pokemon or evolved it that's when you would get the information of the Pokemon's entry. I just don't like how when you evolve a Pokemon here, that old entry is gone from the PokeDex, this is why I'm making such suggestion to the site.

this is purposely done this way on pokeheroes, and the reason is below the pokedex itself:

QuoteYour PokéDex contains data of every Pokémon you currently own (including storage boxes, daycare, GTS and so on).
This system is different from the actual Pokémon game series: If you ever release, trade or evolve your Pokémon, its data is removed. Your PokéDex does not scan your Pokémon instantly and saves its data - but it's more like a scrapbook.
Prof. Rowan wants you to collect every Pokémon species so he can acquire knowledge about them long term.

@AutumnStar: I like how PokeHeroes have their system way, but I just don't want to buy so much storage boxes just to collect over 800 or so Pokemon. I just find it a little annoying, plus you would also have to spend PD on everstones as well. Sadly if you're like me having a part-time job or even a bad sleeping pattern and don't give a Pokemon an everstone on time, you're Pokemon will evolve and that would also be such a waste of time and space.

Wouldn't this just make things easier? Making it less fun? :b
I've pretty much got almost every single Pokemon which is obtainable on this game and all that would be a waste if this was implemented

No support

And to add on. This would be annoying to a lot of other people as well who also have obtained lots of Pokemon.
I personally find it more fun like this. And I'm having fun collecting the few remaining Pokemon I need.

Quote from RaveI just don't want to buy so much storage boxes just to collect over 800 or so Pokemon

If you would put all Pokémon into 1 Storage Box (Capacity Level 3), wou would have to spend about 600,000PD - which is not that much, actually.
Although many people prefer sorting them by their Region ("Kanto", "Johto", etc.), it may be a bit more expensive - but I'm pretty sure that you collect more than enough money during the time that you spent on hatching all these Pokémon.

Apart from that, I know that other Pokémon Adoptable Site do have another system (A system that is similar to the original game series), and I always thought this was a bit too easy. Everyone was busy with their "Trading for PokéDex entries" and most users completed their PokéDex by 95+% within less than 3 months.
Not quite challenging, if you ask be :b

@Riako: It's true that it's not really fun nor challenging, it just sucks that you can't keep the PokeDex entry from a Pokemon you already evolve. It was weird at first, but then again everyone has their own ideas. xD;

No support. This site was MADE to be that way. As Toothless said, it's not that difficult. I actually haven't spent all that much money on boxes and got a bit over half my pokedex complete.

Closing because this is a suggestion that would change something that was designed to be that way.
