Ive been fishing nonstop at Emera Beach for over a week and haven't even caught 1 shellder....I need 3 shellder to get the next fishing rod, I'm going crazy and I'm on the verge of simply quitting fishing I like it a lot but there is only so many times you can catch the same few pokemon before it gets annoying unless shiny hunting which isn't realistic at this stage of fishing

No support (and I kinda agree with Teius)

The whole point of shellder being rare is that it makes it harder to get the super rod. It's been made hard on purpose.

but shellder isn't just rare it's near impossible to obtain, I don't mind if the next rod took a while but second rod in they need you to catch a pokemon that is harder to catch than mystery boxes, fossils, and gems. I've literally gotten all three even multiple times but no shellder in over a week maybe every couple days a shellder but a week is incredibly ridiculous, I play out all my energy, use all the food, and I check back hourly to use any energy I get, I even use the best bait available from leah right now. That rarity has to be lowered if this isnt some type of new glitch where they have just completely stopped showing up

I had never problems to get shelders. But I have problems to get Gorebysses (needed for mega stone) I am not sure, but i think, that the time, when you usually are fishing, has an influence. Because players are from different time zones, they are usually fishing in different times. So one has problems to get shelders, the other has problems to get something else. This is only a theorie of me..

well I am an insomniac so I am on 24/7 and if you buy shellder and put him in your party it doesnt count at leah's so it really sucks

I'd just like to politely say that this seems more like a complaint with the last comment, or an argument, and also that I've managed to get a Shellder without EVER running across the other items you mentioned. But it also makes sense, to me, that it's harder to get the Shellder. It's called a "Good Rod" (I believe) and the next one has a description that says it's "awesome" so why not prove that you are awesome. It also has to do with patience. Anyways, I'm not saying that it's not ridiculous at times that it's so hard to get, but it's at least sensible, in some respects. I'm currently trying to get Shellder as well, so I know the pain. But, as I guess I commonly accidentally tip-toe around my points, I'm saying that I don't support it, because even though it's extremely hard to do, you can still get a lot of good things, like mystery boxes, while you're waiting. That just means that you can do other stuff in the meantime while you wait for your time to get your Shellders. (As I commonly end my posts...) I hope I didn't offend anyone with what I said, I meant in no way to do so, and if it came off as such, I'm sorry.

one shellder in how long? I'm on a week in a half still dont have one, what did you use, did you use bait, what weather was it, what time of day or night was it? it must be set to like a 1 hour window or something weird like that I got many much rarer things in this time and honestly It should be hard yes but at this rate it shouldnt take 6 weeks or more just to get 3 shellder when the next rods also have easier odds of getting the fish you need, a shiny rod is easier to get than the super rod, does that really sound right to people?

Woah. That's a lot of questions, but here's my answers to the ones I can, I didn't spend that long trying. Maybe after about 10 times of actually trying to get it, instead of wanting to get something else. I can't say otherwise how many times I did it. My diary has my fishing info in it, if you want to look. I didn't use any bait, it was night time on the server time, afternoon for me.
As for the other things, if the other things are easier, then all the more for the hard one there. I'd rather have a hard time getting a little bit better things than have a harder time getting the shiny one. It's a thing of "Would I rather have an issue right now, or when I REALLY want that one shiny Pokemon?" in some cases. I'm not a very positive person, but I sure can think that, at the very least. I'm just putting that out there, though.

I finally caught my first shellder it was at night in my time zone, foggy weather......... 9 days in XD but at least I finally got one.

I've asked Riako if the time where you fished and the user had an influence in the results you get when fishing. He said that neither of those had an influece. So yeah xD

I'm still using the Good Rod, because I didn't have enough time to fish all the time I could, but in over 200 attemps I got no shellder, but then, I got 2 Shellders in like 7 attempts, it's just a matter of luck.

then me and my friend have terrible luck and the other poster that took a week in a half too for their first.... one of my friends got 4 dragon gems while fishing before getting shellder.... I wish at the least ones you buy or breed would count
