I keep remembering that at my half-sister's bachelorette/secret wedding, her and her wife's friends from Connecticut came in and were like "Oh, so like I thought. A, B, and C are all stereotypes of Iowa" but then the topic of ranch came up and they were like "I though for some that that one was a stereotype. You're telling me there are a lot of Iowans who will put ranch on anything they can and mix ranch into every sauce???" XD Yes, those people are abundant around here! XD

I had a work nightmare last night. I hate when I have those. Customers are always like "do you ever heard the beeping in your dreams?" And I'm sitting here like "yes, the nightmares where I'm checking out a massive order and all the registers are open and have 5+ customers lined up and the person behind the one I'm checking out keeps asking me questions and someone from out of the blue comes out to tell me something is spilled but all of us workers are up front at the registers and then the person I'm working on checking out tells me they actually don't have their wallet so I need to put back their items which would've been around $400 if they'd paid."

A few weeks ago, an old man complained to me that Aldi's wouldn't hire him to face their stores. It was wild. Why would they hire him to face the store when they can just hire someone to face, stock, pull, and work the register for the same price as far as % of income for the company is concerned?

Well, I'm going to bed extra late tonight (for my forced sleep schedule, which means I didn't follow my sleep schedule rules) but I also haven't heard the storm start. With all luck, we're right on the edge of where it hits but worst case scenario it will continue being like it has been until tomorrow and in all likelihood storm off and on throughout the day to disrupt as many people's already dangerous Friday driving as possible.

We're expected to get a nasty storm tonight, and it's to the point that it went still outside (absolutely still at that) around 6:30 or 7pm. It is now 9pm here and there has not been any wind for at least 90 minutes. It's been mega humid since this morning, to the point that my mom and I woke up and both went "well, my asthma riddled lungs feel like something heavy is sitting on my chest," and we've heard a small amount of rumbles off in the distance.

I think it's funny that during April people will come in more often and see my autism pins and be like "thank you for advocating" as if it's not a "please understand that I might word things funny but don't want to lose my job" type of thing and then there's also the increase in people who I think believe that I'm wearing them suddenly this month because they're like "Oh, this is the month to have those pins" and I'm sitting here like "I found some really good pins to silently advocate for myself at work more than a year ago now? These are NOT new. I might buy some new ones soon, though, to support the small business made by someone who also has autism and make sure people can read the pins at all distances still, though."

Someone did a no call no show this morning (she put in her 2 weeks already so I guess she thinks she's that type of person, we think she's salty that we got a new worker) and last night the store looked at bit messy because the system keeps saddling us with 2 closers on one of the two most profitable days of the week, PLUS our district manager came in. A real Monday.

This event has allowed me to freeze my chain, get a small stockpile of eggs for it, and hatch more than an average of 1 egg a day and I'm SO happy about it. 10/10 would Freeze Chain Update again.

Our store just got a transfer from Florida! She's younger than me, which makes me now the third youngest worker and about half of us workers gen z, especially if you count the cusper who acts more like gen z than millennial. (Although, depending on definitions some people think that if you're born in the 90s at all then your a zillenial, soooo...)
