The only real logic behind types might be
Water > Fire
and
Electric > Flying
the rest is just imaginative. Pokemon allows us to explore the capacity of our minds and gives us the option of choosing a select few pokemon that we like out of over 600 creatures! There's something for everyone. It gives us the chance to have an experience multiple ways; battling, storyline, collecting, completing, or showing off how cool you are. The point is, pokemon just.. is. Plus, dragon was kind of OP but now they added a counterpoint so pokemon is basically evening things out for equality. And theyre probably trying to extend their fan outreach by appealing to young girls with cute, pretty, pink things. Just accept that now you can't beat everyone up with your dragon slaves (Y)

Ground > Electric and Electric > Water make sense, too. At least to me.

I remember the reason they gave in the anime as to why Electric-type attacks aren't that effective against Grass types...Or I think I do. When Ash's Pikachu went up against someone's Bellsprout, its thunderbolt went right through its opponent because it was firmly planted/rooted against the ground. The electricity ran right through to the ground, not harming Bellsprout. At the time it made sense to me and my six year-old brain...And it still does. xD But the games are a little different, so maybe that logic only appeals to the anime.

there is not a lot of difference to venusaur but its ability is amazing also charizard looks so skinny and looks like noivern which I kind of don't like lol blastoise looks nice with its big ol cannon

Mega Blastoise has three cannons...

...but uses its mouth for its Hydro Cannon.

Genius...

I actually like that they don't look too different so they still give you the feeling of having a new but still kinda old, well-known Pokémon. :0

Oh, I forgot about Fire > Grass. xD And Fire > Ice. And I think Grass > Water makes a little sense, since plants do absorb water.

Ehh...I don't quite care for Mega Charizard. I think they could have done a lot better, but that's just me. Will I still want one? Yes. Because it's still Charizard. *sigh*

Mega Absol is amazing! I'm so glad my favorite Pokemon is getting some love. But I do wish they had given him an actual evolution...For what I understand, the Mega evolutions are only for battle. :C

I just love Fennekin's evolution. *-* Froakie's looks cool, too. I don't like Chespin's, though. Somehow reminds me of Karrablast. xD

The llama is sooo cool .. You can trim their fur! Is this cool or what? xD

The other new Pokémon are okay, too.
THAT PSYCIC-TYPE CAT. <3 I love both gender versions, though I guess I like the male one better - especially with him having a more aggressive move set. :P

Mega Mewtwo X looks pretty cool, way cooler than the Y-exclusive one, at least.

Actually... I think Mewtwo Y looks better because the design is more original (Mew2X doesn't look different, for some reason he kinda looks like Bills and feels like a rip-off of Gallade).

Ehh...I was hoping the second evolutions for the starters would be different, but I'll reserve total judgement until I see the final forms. *still prefers Fennekin*

And I prefer Mewtwo X's form. Mewtwo Y has so much in its design that bugs me, while the only thing I don't like about X is its feet. Just...Gah.

Still, the new Pokemon look great! I'm still loving what I'm seeing. :3

I actually agree on everything you've said MurderVictim, lol.
I already like the Kalos Pokémon better than the Unova Pokémon. A lot of them really sucked design-wise ..

Also, I kinda hope that they won't reveal the starter's final evolutions until the games releases. I guess it'd make fun to find them out on your own - for me, at least. :D
