I think it might show the mega bubble in the Fish box, if it's mega-able.

@CatLady Does the same go for shinies? I mean, are they shiny in the fish box or do i have to adopt them to find out?

Pretty sure the same goes for shinies. Riako's spoiler showed a shiny Azurill in his Fish box, after all ;)

So you mean the Pokemon who can mega evolve and caught on the beach might have a mega bubble on the side so we can tell if it's a mega able?

if not then maybe one of the karps to Leah is a Mega Able D:

No, they don't break your chain, sceptoad. As you're adopting the Pokémon and not the egg :)
