"It's from far off, but it doesn't sound familiar, and I also don't feel very good about this...." He signed. "Maybe there really is something wrong, because that ringing surely can't be a good thing, can it?"
Gravelfur looked up as Burningsoul dashed out of camp. A nagging thought rose to the front of his mind, and he suddenly remembered that she wasn't allowed to leave camp. He stood and followed her scent out to the lake, and ended up standing next to her.
((why was burningsoul confined to camp? i looked back at the first post and saw that little thing, but it never said why...))
"How did you follow me, Gravelfur?" Burningsoul groaned, without even turning to look at the medicine cat. "I went really fast, and no offense, but how were you able to catch up?" ((I don't know, but knowing Burningsoul, probably some retort or something XD))
((shhh he was slow af and got there like five minutes later XD idek))
Gravelfur sighed. "I followed your scent. Besides, I'm still young," he panted, clearly out of breath. "I'm not going to drag you back, or anything."
"Well then, why did you come?" Burningsoul asked. Though she was trying really hard not to let anger burst out, and though she had ran, it felt like so long ago, and the anger came flooding back. The sarcasm crept into her voice, and she just couldn't control it.
"I don't know. You seemed like you needed someone to vent to?" Though it was supposed to be a statement, Gravelfur phrased it as a question, slightly flicking his tail.
"I...don't know." Burningsoul replied. "It's just the way I am." She gritted her teeth. "I was born like this, with anger flowing through my veins. Though it puts purpose and often energy into things I do, I can't control it." She sighed. "Why was I born like this? Why can't I just be a normal cat?"
Gravelfur shrugs. "Perhaps you haven't found the meaning to it yet," he suggested. "Maybe you'll control it soon."
"Meaning? Control?" Burningsoul laughed bitterly. "Two words that are often just against me. And that's all they are. Words. Not like they'll ever do anything." She looked up at the sun, rising steadily on the horizon before it would plunge back into the depths of the sky, allowing the moon and night to come along. "Don't give me any of that, Gravelfur. I know by now my existence was a mistake."
Gravelfur sighs, having no idea how to comfort the warrior. "No one's existence was a mistake, not even those who caused havoc and war in the past. Some good may come out of your anger in the future. Time will tell." He stands and turns back to camp. "I'll leave you now, since you need the time alone. I'm sorry I bothered you." He dips his head at her before walking away.
Burningsoul looked down at the reflection of the water, thinking. She saw the distorted image of the sun on the water. What am I to this world, truly? Am I a mistake? Or was I on purpose? If it was purposeful, why me? Why did I have to get stuck with this stupid life?! The she-cat lashed out at the water, causing more ripples. The fish seemed not to disturb her, as if they had sensed her presence or something. She felt like she had to run again, so she got up, and ran. This run was more jumbled, jumbled thoughts, memories, experiences. She felt lost and confused during the run, but her anger was completely depleted. She ran for what seemed like less this time, and she found herself back at camp. Sighing, she snuck back into camp, and into the Warriors den, having nothing better to do once more.
Gravelfur sat in his den once more, putting the herbs he and Brookpaw had collected earlier in their correct spots. He wondered once again about the sudden abundance of fish, and decided to wait for Bumblestar outside of the medicine den.
((burningsoul: *singing* when will my reflection show.... who i am... insiiiiiiiiide
lol sorry XD))
