So, I have an idea called the apology button, here is how it works. So if you are blocked by another player, you will have one chance to use the apology button and send an apology message to the person who blocked you. This message will then be sent to a moderator who will make sure that it is not spam. If it is spam, then it will be rejected, but if it is a sincere apology, it will be sent. The apology will be then sent, and if they accept the apology, then they may be able to be friends again, if the apology is rejected, then they will still be blocked. To avoid spamming, a player would only be able to send one apology per player. I think this is a good idea to help people become better friends on Pokeheroes, what do you think?

Neutral.
I personally block people I do not want to talk to. I really wouldn't appreciate getting messages from them trying to redeem themselves. Some people might, and I respect that, but I would not like it at all, really.
Perhaps there could be an option to not receive these apology messages?

I absolutely don't agree to this. I give people several chances as it is before blocking. If I block you, then I did it to better enjoy ph. I block for a reason and that is to never hear from the user again. I could care less about an apology.

Sorry if this is mean, but like I said, I give several chances before blocking.

I support this ^^ Although I do agree with Essifox that people generally give others quite a few chances before blocking, sometimes the block is due to a misunderstanding that could be cleared up with this apology button. E.g. I've been blocked once for asking to trade for something that is in a user's box labelled 'trade box'. However, the user also says on their 'about me': please do not palpad me for trades unless stated otherwise. I assumed that a box labelled 'trade box' means that it is a part of the 'stated otherwise'. However, I got blocked without a reply. If an apology button existed, I could simply clear this up by giving the above explanation.

I personally like the idea. But maybe if you where aloud to only send one apology message it would be far for both user and the user that blocked you. One time my spell check messed up and said something I didn't intend it to do. The person blocked me and sent me one last message with swearing and stuff. (On another site) Because I couldn't reply to him back I had to sit there wishing I hadn't said a thing.

Btw, it was 'whatever' . He shouldn't have reacted that way, or sweared for that matter, but I do understand that it made me look like a brat and I offended him. I wish he knew what happened.

Sorry, got a bit carried away there

@fanggirl99, in your situation, this would have helped ^^ CarterAjamie is suggesting that the person who gets blocked is allowed to send a message and not the other way around. If the other person wanted to talk to you again, they could simply unblock you :)

I do not support this, you were blocked for a reason. If they were blocked the user that blocked them doesn't want to hear from them again, and there doesn't need to be an apology button to give people chances, you can do that anyways without the button. I think it's simply unnecessary coding, and irrelevant.

And even if it was an accident, what if that blocked user did something anyways to annoy you? Would you still consider blocking them? I personally wouldn't show any mercy, since I just want to enjoy the site as best as I can. Even if that means blocking a few users, not saying that I have yet. Hopefully some of you understand what I'm getting at.

@Rascal, so if something happened like my situation (and yes I'm 100% sure that is the sole reason I was blocked since that's all I've ever said to that person) I/whoever if would be deserved to be blocked? It's a simple misunderstanding that can be cleared up if I were to be allowed to simply reply one sentence.

@Silverstar

But what I'm trying to get at is what if it isn't a misunderstanding? If I got blocked I'd personally just ignore it and move on. I was blocked for a reason. And I can learn from my mistakes, so that it doesn't happen again.

But even if Riako did code an apology button, what would it look like? Would it still go in the user profile or the friends list? Those things weren't explained well enough, and since the Emera Beach is being coded, a suggestion like this should be postponed if implemented so that it doesn't get in the way with the Spring Update progress. Keep in mind that being an admin of a large community website is no laughing matter, it might take a while to code the button, since Riako has a life outside Pokeheroes like you and I. And what if we had technical difficulties? Or perhaps a bug?

@Rascal, I in no way ever said that this had to be implemented soon ^^ And the majority of the problems e.g. bugs and coding are the same for all suggestions and are not special to this one.

As for what it would look like, well I can imagine that the palpad would just tell you that you're blocked and that if you wish, you can send one last message before all contact is blocked.
