Im a busy guy taking care of my sick partner i dont get much free time and ph is one of the few things we get to enjoy together I was bidding on a Pokemon and was the highest bidder for 2hours until a cutthroat player snipped it in the last 7 seconds why can't ppl be honest with bidding and do it how auction is intended I'll never get the same Pokémon in time for my anniversary now

Unless it's a really rare pokemon, I'm sure you can get another quickly. What pokemon was it?

EDIT: You know what, no. I've heard the sniper's side of it, and while I can certainly understand your distress I don't believe that you have any right to whine about it on the forums even after cussing at the sniper. Shame on you. What's worse is that you appear to be an adult- I'd have imagined one to be more mature.

I'm confused...how do you not bid honestly if you do it before the allotted time is up? Isn't that kind of how a auction works? You have a certain amount of time to bid and after that, it's over? Any bid before the time is up is an honest bid. That's how it works. If this is irritating or too frustrating, you can always look on the GTS and work out deals with players instead of competing in the AH.

And how are the auctions intended to be done then? How would you define 'honest bidding'? I'm just curious to know what your idea of how auctions should work is.

Like people have said, there's a certain time limit during which you can bid. Once the time is up, it's over. The highest bid wins regardless of whether it was made 7 hours or 4 seconds before the time ran out, both are equally valid. This is how auctions work in the real world as well and I don't see why it should be any different in PH.

I've been on both sides. I've been sniped, and I've sniped people (and taken sick joy out of it). Heck, I've sniped people before getting sniped myself.

Getting sniped sucks, I know. But that's just how it works. There's nothing evil in sniping, it's a completely valid tactic to get what you want. Nothing prevents you from picking up that rifler as well and start sniping.

I know this has been said way too many times over and over, but they're just pixels. PH is awesome, I know, but this site is not worth getting so upset about. This place is about collecting pokemon and having a good time doing so on your free time, at least that's what I think it's supposed to be. So letting it ruin your day (and other people's day if what Cliff_Armor said is true) is just not worth it.
