"Oh, uh, sure!" Ellis said, hesitating to answer. A smile found
it's way to her lips, amd she let out a light giggle. Her hair was
getting in her face, but she dipped back into the water, making it
slick back. She snickered lightly, but she maintained herself
quickly.
”Hello There! I am Alter Ego, your
technological guide!"
"Alright." I said. "Are you interested in an apple? Or
perhaps a granola bar? I did bring a few small bags of chips, but
they're spicy." Kain added. "Spicy chips are my favorite, but grab
me an apple, please." I told Kain. "Coming right up, how about you
Ellis?" Kain looked at her, waiting for her response.
"I'll take and apple too!" Ellis said, smiling. She then raised a
eyebrow at the two. "Aren't we going to get out of the pool to
eat?" She asked, feeling like an idiot.
”Hello There! I am Alter Ego, your
technological guide!"
"Of course, I was wanted your opinions before we got out of
the pool. I didn't really want to ask you both when we got up
there." Kain replied. "Let's go then." I said, as me and Kain got
out of the pool, walking towards our bag. Kain pulled out three
apples, giving one to me "Thanks." I took a bite into the apple,
sitting down on one of the lounge chairs.
"Yeah, I'm an idiot..." Ellis said with a nervous laugh as she
followed the two. She got out of the pool, and walked next to Kain.
She held out a hand, as if asking for permission to have an apple.
”Hello There! I am Alter Ego, your
technological guide!"
"Here you go, Ellis." Kain handed an apple to her, then
took a huge bite into his apple he got for himself. I continued to
eat mine in small bites, unlike Kain who was wolfing the fruit
down. "Slow down Kain." I sighed. "I'll try." he sneered.
Ellis giggled at the boy's behavior, nibbling on her own apple. She
never ate fast, only slow and quietly, afraid someone would judge
her for eating too quickly. She smiled, shaking her head at the two
boys.
”Hello There! I am Alter Ego, your
technological guide!"
"You're not even trying at all." I replied "Oh well." Kain
smirked, standing up to throw his apple core in the trashcan.
Afterwards he sat back down, waiting for me and Ellis to finish our
apples. "You eat too slow Alain." Kain spoke "Well, you eat too
fast. So there." I replied, continuing to nom on my apple.
"And I'm the monkey in the middle." Ellis said, smiling. She
finished her Apple a minute later, getting up and skipping to the
trash can to throw it away. A few men met her there, smirking. "Hey
precious~. What's a pretty young thing like you doing here?" She
froze as one of them put a hand on her shoulder, whispering
flirtily in her ear. A blush crossed her face as she stood there,
motionless.
I instinctively stood up, walking over towards Ellis.
Staring at the group of men "She's with us. And if you don't want
those faces of yours in shambles I'd suggest you move along." he
shot daggers at them, now in front of Ellis. Kain reached into the
bag, looking at what his brother got himself into.
Ellis cowered behind Alain, and the man chuckled. "Hehe... You need
to learn when to stand back and be quiet, boy...." He said,
smirking with a evil glint in his eyes. He popped his knuckles,
then his neck.
"You're all talk.. and that's all you'll ever be." Alain
broke into a sneer, he had fought people like him many times
before. He had experience, and the scars to prove it, all over his
body.
"Alain, it's fine, lets just walk away. Please." Ellis whispered,
tugging on his sleeve. The guys were chuckling and doing lethal
motions with there hands. A few dragged their thumbs across their
throats menacingly.
"Right." Alain, muttered under his breath walking off.
Although he held out his hand and flipped them the bird, as he
walked back to his lounge chair. Kain kept a watchful eye on the
group of men, in case they tried anything funny.
Alain noticed her shaking, he wrapped his arm around her.
"I wouldn't worry about them. If they bother you again, I'll show
them what I'm made of." he said, trying to reassure her. Kain
whistled "Can you feel the love tonight?" he sang. "Put a sock in
it, Kain." Alain's face flushed.
"Tha-thanks Alain..." Ellis whispered, smiling at him and blushed
at Kain's comment. She covered her red face with her small hands,
making flustered noises. Her ears were tinted a light red, and she
was shaking her head furiously.
"Yeah, no problem Ellis." Alain replied his face still red
from blushing. "I'm a little tired, so I'm just gonna rest a bit."
he fell over, he almost landed on top of Ellis if Kain hadn't
caught him. "Woah there." he said, setting him in another lounge
chair. "Better." he sighed. After a few seconds of silence he spoke
"So, when did you meat Alain, Ellis?" Kain asked her.
"Near the beginning of the school year, I became his college
roomie. Poor little him is stuck with dumb ol' me..." Ellis said,
crossing her legs and smiling softly to herself.
"I'll say this now, you being stuck with him is the best
thing that's ever happened to him." Kain replied, "He's changed for
the better, and I want to thank you for that." he smiled. "Alain
was a mess.. it was pretty hard for us. And then you came along,
Alain's a different person now.." he said.
