the dragon looked at Allium with wide eye's, utterly surprised that
she found him hiding as he cautiously backed away from her, the
long whisker's on his muzzle twitching slightly.
''how the hell are you walking on water and manipulating the
water.... only water dragon's can manipulate water and walk on
water, as well as ice dragons if they focus enough...'' he growled
quietly, his voice soft yet strong.
He's scared of me, she thought, automatically ruling him out
as an enemy. She offered him a smile, all of her hostility dropping
in a moment. "I think you've got your answer. My name's Allium." He
back away from her and she stood in her spot, not wanting to get
into his personal space quite yet. "I'm a water dragon, born and
raised in Nuvalt. I'm not going to hurt you." She held back a
cringe, hating that she dropped the name of the main water kingdom.
She left out the fact that she was a water-fire hybrid--after all,
she wasn't sure how he would react to hybrids in general.
his slight growl ceased the moment she mentioned 'Nuvalt' and
perked up, sitting up slightly as he looked at her.
''i'm from Nuvalt as well, i'm Vincent Wavecrest'' he said, still a
bit cautious but not as much as before.
Vincent scooted around a bit before he stood up and changed forms,
leaning back against the stone wall and crossing his arm's as he
looked at her, his eye's seeming to be illuminated in the dim
lighting.
''my parents are actually royal guards in that part of the
kingdom'' he said.
Allium perked up in surprise, and for a moment she was a bit
fearful. "I've heard the surname before. How did you end up so far
from home?" She asked, not quite sure how to feel now that she knew
Vincent was from Nuvalt. Every time I try to get away, I end up
being closer than I was before, Allium thought, although she
was more amused than anything. She vaguely remembered her father
mentioning the Wavecrest couple every now and then, but she never
remembered a son or a child.
he looked away and rubbed the back of his neck, a faint flush
falling over his face, unsure on how to properly answer the
question.
''i.... guess you could say i ran away for a rather silly
reason...... something i don't feel like sharing to someone i just
met....'' he muttered.
Vincent cleared his throat and straightened, the flush covering his
face disappearing.
''anyway, the surname should sound familiar, considering my
parents are the royal guards too the king himself'' he said.
The hybrid brushed her hair behind her shoulders, nodding slightly
as he spoke. His last sentence caught her by surprise but she
quickly wiped it off her face, smiling as to cover up her mental
panic. Well that certainly explains it. Although I supposed if
he's run away he's cut off most ties, Allium thought. "Well,
alright then--we're in the same boat there. Past is in the past,
anyway."
''well, lets just say it was something my parents arranged and
leave it at that for now.... anyway, what brings you and your
friends here to this place?'' he asked, tilting his head
slightly.
Crystal sighed and laid her head down and tapped her claws against
the ground, becoming rather bored now as she and Wisty waited.
''what's taking her so long? i wanna swim....'' she grumbled.
"We live nearby but I'm a bit new to the area, so they're taking me
around," she said truthfully. Allium glanced over her shoulder,
seeing that they were growing a bit impatient. "Shall I introduce
them to you?" She offered, smiling. "They're perfectly friendly, of
course."
''i'd be honored to meet your lovely friends, a friend of yours is
a friend of of mine!'' Vincent said, giving a bit of a playful
grin.
he walked over to the swiftly flowing water of the waterfall and
stepped aside, reaching out into the waterfall itself before
pulling a part of it open with ease, as if it were nothing more
than a curtain to a window.
''ladies first'' he said as he looked at her, putting his arm over
his midsection and bowing a little bit.
Allium laughed, the soft and polite kind, and stepped through.
"Thank you, but there's no need for such formality," she said. She
waved at Crystal and Wisty as she walked across the water, mostly
to show them that she was safe, and made sure that she got to them
first so that they wouldn't make quick assumptions. "Meet Vincent,"
she said happily, to which Wisty jumped to her feet and swapped
into her human form to excitedly greet him.
Vincent let the waterfall go and backed away a bit, shifting forms
once again back to his true form and slithered his way into the
water without a sound.
he made his way over to the girl's before poking his head up out of
the water, looking at them as his whiskers twitched.
Crystal perked up when she seen Vincent surface and looked
genuinely surprised.
"Oh, hello!" Wisty said, her accent slipping through in a moment of
perkiness. She beamed at him, her pupils dilating. A couple of
pearlescent scales lined her cheeks from transforming only seconds
ago. "My name's Wisty! Wisty Gasglow. Goodness, how long have you
lived around here? I've never met you."
''her full name is Wisteria Gasglow, she just prefers to be called
Wisty'' Crystal chimed in, standing up and shifting forms.
soon she stood up and fixed her ponytail and sighed, putting a hand
on her hip as she looked at the water dragon.
''i'm Crystal Frost, weather dragon hybrid'' she said.
Vincent soon swam over to the edge and pulled himself up a bit,
looking up at them with his luminescent periwinkle eyes.
''Vincent Wavecrest, purebred water dragon from the main water
kingdom Nuvalt, it's a pleasure to meet you both'' he said, smiling
a little.
Wisty noticed his eyes but figured that complimenting them could
come off a bit creepy. Nuvalt... She thought, biting her lip
and looking to the side in thought. She had remembered the Water
Kingdom being of interest in her studies, mainly because she was
curious towards their isolative ways, and realized that she had
never actually met a water dragon before.
"Oh! I'm a light halfling, by the way," she said, realizing she
hadn't mentioned her species. He seems to be okay with
hybrids, she noted, knowing that some dragons were a bit
discriminatory.
Vincent laughed softly and elegantly crossed his arm's as he leaned
against the riverbank.
''your all quite a charming little group i must admit, way
friendlier too'' he said, just beaming now as he looked among the
three girls.
Allium only chuckled softly, brushing her hair out of her face.
"Aww, thanks! You're quite friendly yourself," Wisty replied,
already taking a liking to the stranger. "Say, how long have you
lived about this area? I've never... run across anybody else in
this forest," she asked curiously.
Vincent visibly flinched and shut his eyes, cursing silently at
himself at how he reacted to the question.
''u-um..... i've, lets see... i think i've live here a little over
a year...? i-i figured living here wouldn't harm nobody'' he said,
looking back up at them once he composed himself.
He's hurt someone too, Allium noted immediately, hating how
much their pasts seemed similar. She only smiled and nodded, "Yes,
the area gives a lot of solidarity."
"Oh, cool!" Wisty said, clearly not reading into his body language
or reactions.
he soon climbed out and changed forms as he did so, the water
rolling off of him as stood up and fixed his glasses, grinning as
he looked at them and crossed his arms, the only part of him that
wasn't dry being his hair.
''oh, so your like Allium, a dragon who can hide as a human''
Crystal said, tilting her head slightly.
Vincent looked over and rubbed the back of his neck, a little
embarrassed now.
''i suppose, though i prefer hiding in my cavern honestly, much
quieter'' he said.
