Adeline nodded and looked at his book. "What do you do with them once you finish?" She crossed her leg over her knee and rested her chin on her hands, her iris slitting momentarily as she looked at him.

''well i would have to find a publisher and an editor to help with actually getting them out there and in mass copies... but i guess i just hold onto them...? for the reason i just stated....'' he mumbled.
Glacier sighed and closed the notebook, putting the pencil i the spiral spine that's keeping the paper and cover together.
''it's... soothing, especially after the time i spent in prison.... and before you get all fidgety and freaked out about that, i did my time and i learnt my lesson... i can admit it and not care, i regret what i did and i payed for it...'' he said a bit quietly, but not too quiet he was hard to hear.

Crystal sat in the pool area and was sitting on the steps leading into the water leaning back, enjoying the water with content.
she wore a solid black woman's swim top and shorts, not being one for a bikini or plain swimsuit, since it was comfier for her, but still wore the black ribbon choker since she wanted to keep the scar there hidden.

Normally, a fugitive would have made Adeline wary, but Glacier's connection to Rogue created trust. She listened to his words and nodded carefully--she had sympathy for her new housemate. "Everyone has made mistakes in their past to some degree. It's a worthwhile trait to be able to face it," she replied. If only I could do the same for myself, Adeline thought as she took a sip of her tea, managing to find admiration for Glacier to some degree.

Wisteria contently chilled in the living room area before seeking out Crystal. After all, the main reason her visits to Adriane's house were so frequent was because of her crush (something that she was quite reluctant to admit) and being around her always seemed to be able to lighten her mood instantly amidst all of her family problems. She knocked a quick and energetic rhythm on Crystal's door before poking her head in--their friendship had reached a point in which knocking was optional for Wisty--and furrowing her eyebrows at the emptiness of the room. She then promptly marched over to Matthew's room and walked in, asserting her presence by sitting criss-cross on his bed.
"Hey, Matt~ How're you? You wouldn't have an idea as to where Crystal has gone, would you?" She asked, getting straight to the point.

''thanks.... i'm.. really not happy, about what i did in my past.... but like i said, i did my time, i've been trying to get my life back around...'' he mumbled.
he soon finished off the cup in one jug and delicately set the cup aside.
''i wouldn't want to betray my friend but.... i'll only say that if it wasn't obvious, he is a half breed... he's got no control over his power, it's still unstable, how you can tell is when his finger's look frostbit... you know as good as i do how unstable half breed's can be, but with some training they can control it better'' Glacier explained, keeping his voice low so Adeline could hear him.

there was a knock at the door of the cabin, just a simple one, not one that was urgent.

Matthew had been reading a book before Wisteria came in, looking at her with a raised eyebrow.
''hey there Wisty... i get my door was open but that little habit of yours will get you in trouble if you walk in on someone'' he said, chuckling a little as he bookmarked his book and closed it.
he sat it aside and sighed.
''and i've been good, and i'm just taking a guess and saying maybe the pool...? sitting in the water is always good on aching bones'' he said.

Adeline, surprisingly enough, hadn't noticed. Rogue had been reserved since she'd met him and she had respectfully kept her distance because of it. She also hadn't had much of an opportunity to talk to him anyways. She looked into Glacier's piercingly blue eyes and subtly searched for any signs of disgust or dismay, wondering whether or not he would be aggressive if she were to reveal her heritage. But he's coming from a point of reason, she reminded herself, deciding to say nothing about herself.
"He means well, from what I've gathered about him in this short amount of time. Besides, half breeds are always weaker when it comes to using their power, so it's... well, he won't be causing the next Ice Age, I suppose."

Allium popped off of the sofa and peered through the peephole before opening the door. Her heart thumped nervously when she saw Vincent--any Wavecrest was bound to throw her off her guard--but she stifled her instinct and opened the door with a warm smile. "Hey! Good to see you."

She shrugged, "Well, we're close. I suppose I wouldn't do the same to all of the others that I've just met--that being said they're lovely people... And thank you." Wisty smiled at him. "I'll go check." She bounded off towards the pool room after saying a quick goodbye to Matthew.

''Rogue does mean well, he's a really sweet guy once you get to know him... i'm sure he would be more open about things if he knew none of you would freak out about his past...... that's why i mentioned i know him better because i've known him way longer than everyone in this cabin does....'' Glacier said quietly, knowing that since he knew Rogue way before the other's did could mean a whole lot of different introductions through the past, so he didn't bother explaining the reasoning behind it.
he soon packed things up and pulled his bag up, holding it close as he curled his tail around his waist and let it fade away, staying where he sat.
''hell, he wanted to try and find another place just so nobody would question how we knew each other.. i don't blame him though, i just didn't want to go to all that trouble'' he sighed.

Vincent had been looking off to the side while he waited, but perked up when he heard the doorknob rattle and smiled as he looked at Allium.
''hey Allium, it's good to see you too! how's it goin'?'' he asked.

he nodded and smiled, chuckling softly before going back to reading his book, waving farewell to her as she left his room.

She nodded in agreement, "Yes, I've seen how friendly he is. With all of the... starkly different personalities in the cabin, it's honestly quite surprising how well he's managed to get along with everyone--with a small exception, but still. He's a good soul, and if he's as genuine as you say, then it surely outweighs his past."

"It's alright. Come in, sit down--we have tea." She opened the door wider, knowing that her roommates wouldn't mind. Nobody else was in the living room anyways. "I'm... surprised you're here, frankly. How'd you find us?" Allium asked in her always-friendly tone, although there was a growing bud of worry in her gut.

Wisteria skipped down the hallway, pausing momentarily when she noticed a shifting in the open closet. She inhaled sharply and squinted into the darkness, her toes curled as she crept closer. In a single, soft breath she muttered something and a small rune lit up in her hand, illuminating the narrow space in soft white light. Raven lay in the corner, his feet propped up against the wall, with a children's book in his hands. They looked at each other with matched surprise and Raven shrunk into a sitting position, flushed.
"What're you doing in here, Raven?" Wisty asked cautiously, knowing that Crystal was wary of him.
"I'm reading. Adeline says I should try to improve my English."
Darkness dragon. Of course he can read in the dark, Wisty reminded herself, smiling and putting her hand in her pocket as the darkness swallowed the room again. "I see. I'd be happy to help if you need!" She replied, closing the closet door behind her as she continued towards the pool.

Glacier nodded and glanced over his shoulder, biting his thumb nail a bit as he grew silent.
he had already said too much as it is, for Rogue's and the entire cabins safety, but he meant it as a genuine worried concern about what'd happen if the others found out.
he turned back to Adeline and got up, walking around as he cupped his hand over one side of his mouth to whisper to her.
''i've said too much as it is.... but due to his mother's reputation and standing in his clans ranks, the moment she died and they seen he was the one who caused it they locked him up... this is how i know him, he was my cellmate for years... he never meant to kill his mother, that's how unstable his power was before then... for him they're tied to his emotions and hell broke loose even with his mother trying her hardest to help train his ability....'' he whispered, trying to make sure no one else but her could hear.

''i just wandered around until i found a trail, then i followed that and stumbled upon this cabin'' he said, as he stepped inside, looking around as his eyes adjusted to the lighting.
he tilted his head and looked at her, grinning a little.
''your friend Adriane was also tending to the plants along the pathway so she directed me here'' he added.

Adeline was initially confused when he got closer to her--Glacier seemed reserved and a strictly no-touch person--but allowed it anyway. She was just glad that she didn't scare him to death. Listening to a story so eerily similar to hers brewed a strong feeling of sympathy for Rogue; she tried and failed to stifle her emotions from showing on her face and tightly coiled her fingers around her cup as Glacier spoke. Her emotions warbled her concentration by making her think about her past and the subtle traces of scales began to etch across her skin. She considered telling Glacier about her history but decided against it, instead prompting for silence and a sip of tea.

"Oh, you met Adriane? She's lovely," Allium said fondly, gesturing to the living room sofa for him to take a seat. "I think Wisty and Crystal are somewhere off together in the house, I'm not quite sure where."

Wisty gave the pool room door a crisp knock before opening it, poking her head in and skimming for Crystal. When she saw her, her eyes seemed to brighten and she slipped in the room. "Hey, Cryssie~ How's it going?"

Glacier pulled away as he noticed the scales and blinked, lowering his hand a little bit out of a bit of confusion and concern, trying to piece together how the reaction occurred after explaining what he did caused her to react like this.
''something from your own past must align with Rogue's in some way for this kinda reaction... now don't think i'm prying, i don't mean to come off as a nosy person, but it sorta raises a bit of a concern considering i used to room with Rogue long ago'' he said, straightening and crossing his arms.

Vincent nodded and sat down, crossing one leg over the other as he sat down and entwined his fingers, resting them in his lap out of habit.
once he realized that he leaned back a bit more comfortably and uncrossed his legs and simply crossed his arms.
''Adriane seems to be really sweet, she especially loves tending to the plant life around the cabin'' he said, finding it rather charming at how well she's kept the place looking perfectly kept.

Crystal glanced over and smiled, sitting up and waving from where she sat on the steps that led into the water.
''hey Wisp~'' she hummed cheerfully, a small blush dusting her face as she used her other arm to hug one of her legs up to her chest.
she usually was a bit self conscious about people seeing her in her swim suit due to the fact it showed a couple of other scars she kept hidden along her back which peeked out from the top of the swim top on the back, but she didn't mind Wisteria hanging out with her when she was relaxing in the pool room.

Damn it. Adeline bit her lip to curse at herself silently and mustered a reassuring smile on her face, closing her eyes briefly and straightening her posture. Years of practice and meditation made it quite easier for her to calm herself in such situations, skills that she wished she had before everything had happened.
"I understand your concern. I'm stable," she said firmly. The half-breed took a deep breath as subtly as possible and wondered why she was telling someone she had just met something so personal.
"I lost a parent of my own six years ago and I... well, I sympathize with him in that regard." Adeline cradled her wrist and finally met Glacier's gaze when she finished speaking. It was then that she noticed the intensity that the icy blue color gave his eyes, which stuck out in a way that was both mesmerizing and a bit intimidating--common personality traits of ice dragons in Adeline's experience. It was that moment that she decided to trust him with the details of her story.
She had never said the words aloud, and it came out as a whisper, "Murder. By my own claws; sadly, I didn't have a choice, either." A thick knot rose up in her throat and she mustered a question, both because she disliked the imbalance of trust and because she wasn't sure she would be able to speak with composure anymore. "And how did you end up in prison? I... think it's fair to share, after that."

She nodded. "It's quite impressive, how lively the area is. And it's a wonderful cabin as well--much larger than it seems. There are... eight other people living here (including myself), I believe?" She counted on her fingers to make sure and nodded with a confirmation. "Yes. Most of them are really friendly, I'm sure they'd love to meet you."

"Mind if I join you?" Wisty asked as she drew closer to the edge of the pool, sitting down and dipping her calves into the water.

Glacier listened and simply remained quiet, nodding occasionally as she spoke, but the moment he caught her whisper and noticed how she was close to loosing her composure, his gaze softened.
he question though was what caught him off guard, staring at her with wide eyes for a moment before he slowly nodded.
he changed to his dragon form and hopped up onto the table, sitting down and curling his tail around his paws.
''i'm a smaller breed of ice dragon.... you wouldn't think i'd cause serious harm right....? pfft... even little things can cause significant harm'' Glacier said, shrugging as if it were a simple thing.
he looked over his shoulder, to make sure no one would be listening in, and turned back to Adeline with flattened ears.

''i was an orphan so my usual crimes would mostly just be stealing to survive.... too young to really hunt plus no one taught me how too, but one time i think i broke into a medics lair... it's a little hazy but i think i ended up getting into something by accident that set me off into a feral frenzy'' he said.
Glacier trailed off a bit as he looked down, ears drooping slightly as the wardens words crept they're way back into his mind.
''i... i ended up trashing the place and..... all i remember was waking up in a cell, being told i killed the tribes medic and his family'' he said, his voice breaking a little bit.
it was obvious the event still bothered him to this day, but he had been able to let it become a distant memory, moving on with his life now rather than being stuck in the past.

he smiled and nodded, chuckling softly as he listened to her speak.
''it's always nice to be around people who you can trust, it's a breathe of fresh air even if they get on your nerves... this cabin is gorgeous, and i can tell it's definitely got some sort of enchantment on it'' Vincent said.

down the hallway the sound of a door closing could be heard, footsteps following as Matthew walked out and stopped at the end of the hallway, staring around Allium as he noticed a newcomer.
he blinked, a little taken aback, but shook his head as he walked forward and simply wrapped his arms around her in a hug(assuming she's still standing up), head resting on her shoulder as he gave Vincent a rather neutral expression.
''who is this Allium?'' Matthew asked.

''Wisp you know i don't mind you joining me'' Crystal said, laughing a little bit as she already seen Wisteria start to enjoy the water.
she scooped her hand into the water and, with a quick movement, splashed her with a little water.
