The hybrid blinked sharply, her eyebrows raising. She released her
legs from her chest, putting a supporting hand in front of her to
lean closer with a worried glimmer in her eyes. "Why? What's wrong?
Are you okay?" She asked, her brows furrowing.
''just.... don't pull away..'' he muttered, a little embarrassed as
his face flushed a faint red.
he gently grabbed her chin with his thumb and index finger and put
his forehead against her's, closing his eye's as he chanted an
incantation in an old forgotten tongue of the dragon culture and
pecked her on the forehead, the lips, then both of her cheeks as if
he were making a cross, then hesitantly kissed her full on the
lips.
a soft light soon radiated from the both of them due to the
incantation over the both of them and a flood of warmth washed over
Allium, cleansing her mind, body, and soul of any remaining
darkness that may have lingered inside her.
The light softly died away, and with that Allium sharply recoiled
away from him. Pain ripped through her abdomen, scorching through
her veins--she turned away and started hacking uncontrollably. She
began to cough up poison, her human form flickering out of power so
that she morphed between a humanoid dragon and her regular form.
She clutched her stomach, spitting out the last of the poison and
closing her eyes solemnly. "How did you do that?" She murmured,
softly, sky-blue scales beginning to creep up her face.
''cleansing incantation.... learned it from a scholar back in the
fire kingdom which is why i'm still here today after that darkness
dragon attacked me before Adrian found me and after she did what
she could... still doesn't know how i recovered so well
truthfully...'' he muttered, a bit weakly.
his face was just a bit paler and he seemed weaker, as if the
incantation took more power out of him then he realized it would.
Allium lightly skimmed her claw against the dirt, turning her
hair-covered face away to hide the weak tear that rolled down her
cheeks. Her human form was almost completely covered in scales, as
she didn't have the focus or energy to prevent going back to her
dragon form; she didn't care, anyways.
"Thank you," she said in the same soft voice, "I-i... I don't know
how to repay you, but I promise I will, somehow." She wiped her
face and turned to him, breaking into a genuine smile.
Matthew shifted to his hybrid form and helped her up carefully,
hugging her lightly.
''it's fine, really..... truthfully the incantation was needed to
help you, i could tell it still lingered inside you... hopefully it
help's with the pain in your shoulder as well, where it's not
hurting as badly....'' he mumbled, gently putting his head against
her cheek as he closed his eye's.
Allium froze, but reluctantly put her arms around him. She
regathered her focus so that her scales were replaced by soft
flesh, and her pupils looked less menacing--she, quite frankly,
preferred not to go into full-fledged dragon form. She wrapped her
tail around her leg so that it sunk into her, no longer being
visible, and tapped her clawless fingers lightly on her back. "It
must have been a heck of a drain. Are you sure you're okay?"
''y-yeah.... that... kinda just took a lot out of me..... i... just
need to rest..'' Matthew mumbled, his scales soon melting away back
to skin and his face becoming more human like again.
he sat up and blushed faintly, realizing he was still holding
her.
''u-um.... sorry......'' he muttered, letting her go but still
helping her sit up.
"Nothing to be apologetic of," Allium said, her golden eyes
narrowing a bit in concern. "And if anyone should be supported here
right now, it's you. We'd best get back to the house."
Alluim pursed her lips, considering offering him a shoulder for
support. Seeing how uncomfrotable he was, she decided to keep her
distance and simply walk by his side.
Matthew put his arm around his torso and walked along back to the
cottage, using the occasional tree for support. i forgot how much that incantation drained me of energy.....
he thought, though happy he did just to be able to help Allium.
Allium's face fell, but only slightly. "Ah. I was raised in
Fyretongue Hollow." As she drew closer to the cottage, Allium
reached out to hold the door open for Matthew.
Matthew smiled a little and went inside, going over and sat down in
his recliner.
Adrian soon came out into the living room and sighed, quickly
flipping on a light.
''i was just about to go out and find you guys..... Matthew why do
you look paler than usual....?'' she asked, looking over at him a
bit concerned.
Matthew looked away and sighed.
''it's nothing.... just let me rest... it's.... been a long
day.......'' he muttered, a faint, fairly obvious blush appearing
over his face.
Allium gave a quick wave as she saw Adriane. Adeline and Raven sat
comfortably next to each other on the couch, with Adeline saying a
quick greeting to the two before sitting down in the open chair.
She had lost her appetite, anyways. Her thumbs flashed from their
human form to black claws as she twiddled them, waiting a bit
anxiously for Matthew to go to sleep so that she could talk to
Adriane.
Matthew got up and grabbed a hold of his recliner, pulling it out a
bit before he turned it around and sat back down, then pulled on
the handle to recline it and lay back, deciding to rest in his
chair.
Adrian took a seat on the floor as Ent entered the room and went
over to her, sitting down beside her.
she hugged the creature with one of her arm's and smiled a
little.
~~~~~
Crystal laid out on the roof staring up at the sky, her arm's
behind her head. been such a boring day..... she thought with a sigh.
Rogue trekked up the slope of the roof, his fingers covered in a
light veil of ice. His fingers had tinted blue from the cold, but
he didn't seem to be harmed by it--he barely felt it. He looked
down at the roof, seeing Crystal in the corner of his eye. "Oh,
er... Sorry. I didn't realize you were here," he mumbled, his words
barely audible in his meek embarrassment.
Crystal looked over and blinked, then sighed and sat up.
''your fine...... but i feel like an idiot for snapping at you over
nothing.... so i'm also sorry about that.....'' she muttered,
looking back up at the sky.
