"I was out hunting." She said, holding up some rabbits and setting them on the table. "Sorry I didnt tell you every one of my movements." She said then headed upstairs to her room.

Going to Jakes house, he didn't see him. So he went out to where the boy said he had been.

He shook his head, playing with him. He suddenly growled a bit and dropped the bow, hiding away as the chief got there.

"Jake," the chief called, looking after him. "What are you doing?"

"I was told you were with Sam earlier today. She said she had fun," he said.
Jake's jaw dropped. "She did?"
"Yes, but she didn't tell me what you were doing. What did you guys do today?" he asked.
"Um...we just...I showed her how to hunt..." he said, trying to wake back into town so that the chief didn't see Phoenix.
But the chief grabbed Jakes arm, not letting him go. "Let's talk," he said.

Pumpkin mentally called out to Sam. Strange man! Smells somewhat like you. He is hurting Jake! Phoenix and I don't know what to do!

"Sir, I must decline. I didn't do anything wrong. Sam wanted to learn to hunt, saw me with my bow heading out and asked if I could show her. Now please, let me go," Jake said, growing angry.
"No. I think you hurt my daughter," he said, tightening his grip.

Sam shot out of bed and hurried over to the spot. "Dad?!" She asked. "What are you doing?! You're hurting him! Stop it!" She said, rushing over and trying to free Jake.

He turned on her, staring her down. "He admitted you were with him today. You lied to me," he hissed. "Are you going to his bed?" he asked bluntly.
"No!" Jake squeaked, angry and embarrassed at the accusation. "Sam is beautiful and I wish her every happiness! But I would marry her before I tried to do anything like that!"

Sam was pissed. She slapped him, her father. "I told you I was out hunting. I was, with him." She said, crying. "You dont know anything about me! SO DONT YOU DARE GO JUDGING ME!" She screamed then ran away, crying.

Her father sat in stunned silence. Then he made his way back home. He had a marriage to arrange.

Sam ran till she tripped then just laid there, curling up, crying. Her father never bothered to learn about her, ask what she was into, boys or anything!

Jake saw her fall and ran faster, sliding down next to her. Then he gently pulled her into his lap, checking to make sure she wasn't hurt. "Sam, are you okay? From falling? Are you hurt? We can talk about what happened with your dad whenever you're ready."
