Jake pet his head, glad they where there. Pumpkin put her head on Sam's arm, sniffing her. Then she curled next to Phoenix.

Eventually they got to her home and she snuck into her room. She curled up on the bed, sad and still hurt from what her father said.

She spun. "WHAT!? Why dont I get a say in who I will marry!?" She asked. Not only was she confused she was upset. "And why am I getting married? Is this because of Jake? He is a friend who was teaching me how to hunt and a few tricks of the trade he knows. I figured you would love that since you always wanted a son and not the daughter you have now! I've heard you... You arent quiet when you talk to Gobber and i heard it all." She said. "I TRIED to be the child you wanted but you NEVER cared about me. So I'm sorry I failed you, but I will marry whoever I want! You never cared about me anyway. you never asked me about my day, how i was doing, nothing! I dont even know why I call you dad anymore. Heck I cant, and wont, kill a dragon!" With that, she turned and stormed out.

He grabbed her arm, now upset that she defied him and talked to him like that. "You are my daughter and I want you to be with someone who will protect you! I...your mom was the one who knew how to talk to you!"

She pulled her arm free. "So were you once!" She said crying. "You used to ask me about my day... ask me what I was into... what i did... then you just stopped when mom died!" She said. "You shut yourself away and I tried and tried but you never came back! You still havent... You dont even know my favorite color!"
