That'd be something wouldn't it, Drayce nodded, agreeing with him. If you guys did have kids, they'd end up with a rather interesting pedigree, half god, and a quarter angel and quarter demon... Would they have horns or wings? Or both?
Melez had already fallen fast asleep, listening to the gentle breathing of Eona, and the soft talking of the others.
Nathana nodded and looked around the room before sliding off of Hecate's shoulders and into her lap, shifting into a medium dog sized lizard with greyish scales.
Faolan smiled kissing her temple. "Think the group is sleeping here tonight. It's so warm and inviting," he murmured.
"I'd like to think they'd have both. Or we'd have a boy and a girl, one with wings and one with horns," Azazeal said, sharing the image he'd come up with. "They'd be demigods. Unless they did something to become full gods." He looked over at their sleeping wives and chuckled before pointing them out. "Looks like our girls are getting in some much needed rest."
Hecate hugged her, gently petting her beloved. "Goodnight Nat," she murmured, leaning back to enjoy the warmth.
"I think so too," Khaalida glanced at the others before leaning up to kiss him back.
That would be absolutely adorable. Especially if either their personalities matched the wings and horns, or were complete opposites. Drayce followed Azazael's arm and smiled at the two ladies, soon being joined by Nat and Hecate. One big family,
Nathana purred as she readjusted her position as she shifted into her humanoid shape to have her head laying in Hecate's lap instead of her body. "Goodnight Hecate," She whispered.
Faolan shifted them so she could lay against his shoulder and fall asleep comfortably. "Love you, Lida. Goodnight."
"Oh my gosh, that'd be amazing," Azazeal chuckled, loving that idea. "I should let you get some sleep too, new dad. I've got a feeling we're all going to need it soon, looking after these four hatchlings."
"Goodnight, Nathana," Hecate murmured, stroking Nat's hair as she fell asleep.
"I love you too Faolan," Khaalida laid beside him, her head on his shoulder. "Good night,"
I should hope that you'd be getting some sleep too, as you said, we'll all be needing it. Drayce nudged the god gently with his claw.
Nathana hummed softly as she quickly followed after Hecate.
The werewolf smiled and hugged her, falling into a deep, peaceful sleep.
Azazeal nodded, watching Melez sleep. I will be. I'm following the group...good night, Drayce, the god said, covering a yawn.
Good night Azazael, Drayce laid his head down over Eona and soon was sleeping as deeply as she.
Days passed and Eona kept a watchful eye on her eggs. She didn't shift into her human form unless she had no other option. One day, she picked up on the thoughts of one of the eggs. It was ready. She moved closer, mentally crying out to the group at large to tell them one was hatching. Her excitement mounted as two others began to shake and got ready to hatch as well. They're coming! They are getting ready!
Nathana, Khaalida, Zach, and Melez all watched with great anticipation. Nathana was holding onto Hecate as she almost vibrated with her excitement off the charts! Khaalida was doing pretty much the same, though she wasn't shaking. She'd never been present at the birth of anything, only their deaths. Melez was right beside Eona, her hand resting on Eona's side for support for the both of them.
Drayce sat behind Eona, his great neck allowing him a perfect view and easy access. I wonder what the first will be? He watched, his eyes darting between them to see which one hatches first.
If anyone looked, they'd see Eona's back end dancing as she vibrated with happiness. She managed to keep her front legs and head still as she watched her hatchlings come into the world. The great mama dragon hummed, sending her young encourament telepathically.
The red egg with it's green, vine like design was the first to crack. A green snout poked out and sniffed the air delicately before breaking more of the shell. The little guy chirped and snorted, busting his way out of the egg that had kept him safe. Once free, he shook himself off, wiggling excitedly. He was a flawless mix of his parents. He would have horns like his dad. For now, a mane, dark green in color, was fluffed around his head. He was longer then Drayce had been as a hatchling but not as serpentine as his mom. His scales looked like his shell: red but with that vining green pattern. Sneezing, he tilted his head back, cocked it, and chittered up at the group at large. Seeing his parents, he tried to get to his feet and wobble over. He managed only a few steps before he faltered and Eona swooped it with her tail. She gently wrapped it around him and drew him near, nuzzling him gently. Hello, my darling. My sweet, precious boy, she cooed. He chriped excitedly, sending everyone a telepathic feeling of absolute joy. He pressed his snout to Eona's before straining to get Drayce.
Khaalida was positively entranced by the tiny dragon that was pulled from the egg. Her mouth was partially agape before closing into a huge smile. She was witnessing a large part of life, and that in and of itself made her very happy.
Zach, not wanting to be in anyone's way, was seeing through Melez's eyes. He grinned and clenched his jaw to keep himself under control, and not devolve into a sobbing mess.
Drayce was whispering encouragement and rumbling, he wasn't sure why he was rumbling, but it felt right. You can do it, that's it, His front half began to match Eona's back half as the first hatched, his claws clicked on the stone as he tried to keep the dancing under his own power. Drayce leaned his head over and nuzzled the little dragonling, he felt like his heart would be melting any moment now.
The next egg to start have a snout poking through was a deep green egg that was a bit bigger than the other three. The nose that poked through was a bright red, and so was the rest of the body that followed. The rest of his egg cracked and he tumbled out, tiny little wings started flitting on his back. His tail, wagged, and the rest of his body did for that matter as he instantly tried running, and ended up wobbling so much that he fell over. Drayce lowered his head and helped him stand by giving him a gentle nudge. While his head was down there, the third egg began to crackle and it shook almost violently. This egg was smaller than the green one, but not the smallest of the bunch. The egg fell apart and revealed the green serpentine shape that was just one big floppy wiggle. Drayce barked out a soft laugh and the little green head popped up and bumped his nose against his father's. While his head was down, the red baby crawled on top of Drayce's head and chirped loudly. Eona, He turned his head to look up at her. We're parents! The two newly hatched babies looked up to her as well.
Faolan chuckled, reaching up to wipe a tear from his eye. It was beautiful. The small, just beginning family. He was going to protect them. Kissing Khaalida's temple, he murmured, "They are beautiful."
Zorn nodded, watching the cuteness unfold. He looked over at Zach, reaching to take his hand. These cute dragons....they were going to be little nephews for him! Oh, this was too exciting!
Azazeal chuckled, hoping that he'd get to have a child look up at him and Melez one day. For now, they could enjoy these cute little guys. His attention turned to the next egg, watching expectantly.
Eona giggled, tears falling down her cheeks in happiness. We are! Look how amazing they are? I don't think the could be any more perfect! she agreed, setting the first down next to his brothers. Sweet, beautiful babies... The dragoness nuzzled each of the little boys, learning their scent and simply enjoying the thrill of being their mom. The first hatched looked at his brothers, flapping his wings before growling playfully and jumping at his brother. Now they were out, it was time to play in his mind. He managed to catch his brother's tail in his mouth.
The fourth egg wasn't moving like the others had. It was still just hanging out. Eona wasn't too worried. She knew it could be awhile. For now, she was content to look after the three little boys. They'd need names.
Khaalida wasn't laughing, she was busy watching life unfold. "Beautiful..." She whispered absentmindedly.
Zach definitely found that funny, and laughed loudly. He was going to share the responsibility of being their uncle with Zorn, whose hand he gladly held.
Melez giggled as she watched the baby on Drayce's head and followed Azazael's gaze to the other egg. After it didn't start to move at all she wondered if it'd just hatch later. "Do you think this one is just a late bloomer, or hatcher in this case?" She asked quietly.
They're all so small! Drayce tilted his head and let the one perched on his head slide off into his brothers in a heap. He lifted his head and nuzzled Eona. I'm so full of so many emotions, I don't know if I'll get any sleep for days, He looked back down at the babies, a huge toothy grin on his face.
Faolan nodded, "Beautiful and cute. Bet you they'll sleep in a little dragon pile. That's going to be adorable to watch."
Zorn leaned in to kiss Zach at that laugh.
"That's what I'm thinking," Azazeal said, taking a step closer and reaching out to touch the egg. "They feel alright in there...I don't think there is any problems. Just hatching a little late."
Eona couldn't help it and moved back a little so she could dance her excitement. Teeny tiny! I know what you mean! It's overwhelming! Wonderful! But also a little scary. I'm fairly sure we'll be getting sleep sometime. But you're right. I'm too excited to think straight! What should we name them? she asked, moving closer and watching the three boys. Her gaze flicked to the last egg, checking on the little one to make sure things were okay.
"A little dragon pile," Khaalida smiled picturing how that'd look. "Oh that would be very cute."
Zach smiled into their kiss, his hands respectfully on Zorn's shoulders.
Melez nodded and reached out to gently place her hand on the egg as well. "The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all." She remembered an old saying from a book she had read.
Drayce watched Eona dance and he laughed. You are very right, and you're very beautiful when you prance like that, He followed her gaze to the last egg and reached down to nuzzle it. They'll hatch when they're ready. He couldn't feel anything wrong, but that didn't mean he didn't worry.
"Wouldn't it?" Faolan asked, moving to wrap his arms around her waist, his chin resting on her shoulder.
Zach sighed happily, breaking the kiss so they could breath.
Azazeal nodded, smiling softly. He slid his hand into Melez's, holding her close as he watched Drayce nuzzle the egg.
Eona joined Drayce, nuzzling the egg as well. Seeing his parents pay attention to the last egg, the first hatched dragon made his way over, calling his brothers over to the little egg. He growled playfully at it, trying to get it to play. When that didn't work, he whined softly, waiting for it to react. Once the other two baby dragons came over, the little egg shook, beginning the process of hatching.
Eona sighed in relief as the egg moved. Just needed some encouragement from your brothers, didn't you, baby? Turning to Drayce, she nuzzled him, simply happy their young were okay.
"Simply adorable," Khaalida commented as she tilted her head a little to grin at him. She honestly wasn't sure if she was still talking about the baby dragons anymore.
Zach had a faint blush about his cheeks, and a very happy smile on his lips.
Melez began humming softly, a tune that Azazael played for her, the song that he himself wrote. She had her eyes on the egg, but her heart was with his.
Drayce barked out as the egg began to hatch. We did it! We, we... He nuzzled her back, hot tears falling down his face. We have children. He was so overjoyed that he almost felt weak and powerful at the same time.
Faolan smiled, rubbing his nose against hers. "We're going to have to come in and check it out."
Zorn smirked, looking pretty smug and self satisfied.
Azazeal joined her in humming, too happy. He too watched the little egg.
Eona purred, nuzzling her mate as she tried to dry his tears for him. She felt just the same. Light and on top of the world but also .weak limbed. She watched the little egg as the hatchling inside pushed and pushed. The tiny thing was having a bit of trouble. She was tiny compared to her brothers. But she looked like her mother besides the great bit wings on her back. Kicking out, she fought hard. Squeaking and chirping, she growled at the egg, frustrated with it. After a few hours, she shoved her way out, looking spent. Laying on her back, her tiny legs twitched above her as she cocked her head to look at them, letting them know how much effort she'd put into it. Eona giggled and lowered her nose to the hatchlings belly and tickled her lightly. The baby girl let out a screech and laughed, little legs flailing.
